Nanozymes have shown significant potential in cancer catalytic therapy by strategically catalyzing tumor-associated substances and metabolites into toxic reactive oxygen species (ROS) , thereby inducing oxidative stress and promoting cancer cell death. However, within the complex tumor microenvironment (TME), the rational design of nanozymes and factors like activity, reaction substrates, and the TME itself significantly influence the efficiency of ROS generation. To address these limitations, recent research has focused on exploring the factors that affect activity and developing nanozyme-based cascade catalytic systems, which can trigger two or more cascade catalytic processes within tumors, thereby producing more therapeutic substances and achieving efficient and stable cancer therapy with minimal side effects.

To date, the abuse of antibiotics and a gradual decline in novel antibiotic discovery enlarge the threat of drug-resistant bacterial infections, especially methicillin-resistant (MRSA). Herein, inspired by the unique structures and antibacterial activities of 2-quinolones, a class of novel 2-quinolones with substituted pyridines was synthesized. Notably, compound , the derivative with a methylpyridine fragment, showed potent antibacterial and antibiofilm activities, especially for MRSA strains (MIC = 0.

Due to the emergence of drug resistance, androgen receptor (AR)-targeted drugs still pose great challenges in the treatment of prostate cancer, and it is urgent to explore an innovative therapeutic strategy. MK-1775, a highly selective WEE1 inhibitor, is shown to have favorable therapeutic benefits in several solid tumor models. Recent evidence suggests that the combination of MK-1775 with DNA-damaging agents could lead to enhanced antitumor efficacy.

Herein, the construction of potential donor-acceptor (D-A) structures was guided using density-functional theory (DFT) calculations. The photocatalytic nitrogen fixation performance of TAPT-CHF was then experimentally determined to be 327.58 μmol g h, which was attributed to its efficient photo-induced charge separation and migration ability.

Background: The trend of gallstones occurring in younger populations has become a noteworthy public health issue. This study aims to investigate the association between complete blood cell count (CBC)-derived inflammatory indicators and gallstones in adults under 60 years of age in the United States.
Methods: This cross-sectional study used data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2017 to 2020.
As natural furocoumarins, psoralen and its isomer isopsoralen are widely distributed in various fruits including L., vegetables including celery, and medicinal herbs including L. Although psoralen and isopsoralen have been used as dietary supplements because of their bioactivities such as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties; however, the potential mechanisms underlying the antioxidant activities of these two furocoumarins still need to be explored.

The posterior mandible is the primary area for occlusal function. However, long-term tooth loss in the posterior mandible often leads to rapid absorption of both buccal and lingual trabecular bone plates and subsequent atrophy of the alveolar ridge. This ultimately results in horizontal bone deficiencies that complicate achieving an optimal three-dimensional placement for dental implants.

Aging often triggers dental pulp fibrosis, resulting in clinical repercussions such as increased susceptibility to dental infections, compromised tooth vitality, and reduced responsiveness to dental interventions. Despite its prevalence, the precise molecular mechanisms underlying this condition remains unclear. Leveraging single-cell transcriptome analysis from both our own and publicly available datasets, we identified Ccrl2 macrophages as particularly vulnerable during the early stages of aging.

Flexible covalent organic frameworks (COFs) offer distinct advantages in elasticity and adaptability over rigid COFs, but these benefits often come at the expense of crystallinity due to challenges in polymerization, complicating both synthesis and structural characterization. Current research primarily employs single flexible monomers, which limits the tunability of these frameworks. In this study, we introduce two highly crystalline, flexible COFs, ZCST-102 and ZCST-103, constructed from dual flexible monomers.

The Asian corn borer, (Guenée), emerges as a significant threat to maize cultivation, inflicting substantial damage upon the crops. Particularly, its larval stage represents a critical point characterised by significant economic consequences on maize yield. To manage the infestation of this pest effectively, timely and precise identification of its larval stages is required.

Background: The oral microbiota is a diverse and complex community that maintains a delicate balance. When this balance is disturbed, it can lead to acute and chronic infectious diseases such as dental caries and periodontitis, significantly affecting people's quality of life. Developing a new antimicrobial strategy to deal with the increasing microbial variability and resistance is important.

Schwann cells (SCs) can potentially transform into the repair-related cell phenotype after injury, which can promote nerve repair. Ferroptosis occurs in the SCs of injured tissues, causing damage to the SCs and exacerbating nerve injury. Targeting ferroptosis in SCs is a promising therapeutic strategy for effective repair; however, research on ferroptosis in the peripheral nervous system remains limited.

The unique adhesion capabilities of soft-bodied creatures such as leeches and octopuses have provided considerable inspiration for the development of artificial adhesive materials. However, previous studies have either focused on the design of sucker structures or concentrated on the synthesis of adhesive materials, with the combination of these two aspects not yet having been deeply investigated. In this study, inspired from leech's unique adsorption ability, a biomimetic approach is proposed that combined artificial sucker and mucus, to achieve remarkable adhesion stability on rough surfaces using 5 cm diameter silicone suction cups.
