Aim: (1) To classify patients with community-acquired pressure injury (CAPI) according to the risk factors of PI and to assess validity of the classified groups. (2) To clarify characteristics of each group for CAPI prevention and care.
Design: This study is designed to classify CAPI patients into clusters based on a retrospective study of medical records, followed by cluster analysis and description of each cluster's characteristics.

Objectives: To evaluate previously reported quantitative (tumor thickness 11 mm and depth of invasion [DOI] 7.5 mm) and qualitative (styloglossus/hyoglossus muscle invasion [SHMI]) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) parameters for predicting occult neck node metastasis in clinical N0 oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma.
Methods: This single-center retrospective study included 76 patients.

Intrahepatic portal and hepatic venous shunts have been reported in children (Takama et al. Surg Case Rep 2020;6(1):73) but are very rare in adults (Papamichail et al. Hepatobiliary Pancreat Dis Int 2016;15(3):329-333).

Background: The intravenous olfactory test (alinamin test [AT]) is a retronasal olfactory assessment and may evaluate the flavour disorder; however, studies assessing whether AT accurately determines the severity of taste disorders are lacking. Our study aims to evaluate the relationship between AT and subjective taste disorders in the patiensts with olfactory disorder.
Methods: Between April 2019 and March 2020, 228 patients visited our smell clinic reporting olfactory disorders.

Objective: This study aimed to understand the effectiveness of regular care in reducing the incidence of severe peristomal skin disorders, as well as to identify their risk factors.
Summary Background Data: Peristomal skin disorders occur frequently in outpatient settings and require appropriate intervention. It remains, however, to be demonstrated when the need to follow up these patients decreases and whether assessing severity of peristomal skin disorders is useful.

Histopathologic examinations of primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) reveal concentric accumulation of lymphocytes in the perivascular area with fibrosis. However, the nature of this fibrosis in "stiff" PCNSL remains unclear. We have encountered some PCNSLs with hard masses as surgical findings.

This study aimed to identify the prognostic factors after pancreatectomy for borderline resectable pancreatic cancer abutting major arteries (BR-A). We retrospectively investigated relationship between preoperative and intraoperative variables and overall survival (OS) through univariate and multivariate analyses. The cut-off points of preoperative therapy duration and response rates of serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) levels after preoperative therapy were determined through a minimum -value approach using the log-rank test for OS.

Cerebellar brain inhibition (CBI) is an inhibitory output from the cerebellum to the primary motor cortex, which is decreased in early motor learning. Transcranial random noise stimulation (tRNS) is a noninvasive brain stimulation to induce brain plastic changes; however, the effects of cerebellar tRNS on CBI and motor learning have not been investigated yet to our knowledge. In this study, whether cerebellar tRNS decreases CBI and improves motor learning was examined, and pupil diameter was measured to examine physiological changes due to the effect of tRNS on motor learning.

Objectives: Laparotomy for lower intestinal perforation is associated with a high incidence of surgical site infections. This study aimed to assess whether incisional negative pressure wound therapy (iNPWT) could reduce the incidence of these infections and wound dehiscence in patients with lower intestinal perforation.
Methods: This single-center prospective study was conducted between September 2019 and July 2022.

Key Points: Little is known about the clinicopathological characteristics and renal outcomes in the patients with gross hematuria (GH) after the vaccination. To fill a clinicopathological knowledge gap regarding vaccination and GH, we conducted a nationwide multicenter prospective cohort study. GH is more likely to occur in patients with IgA nephropathy, with a female bias, but without progressive exacerbation of renal function.

The reversed halo sign was initially reported as a representative computed tomography scan finding of cryptogenic organizing pneumonia. Since then, however, it has been reported in various diseases and is now considered a nonspecific finding. However, there are no cases of humidifier lung with the reversed halo sign.

The emergence and dissemination of carbapenem-resistant species of Acinetobacter and Pseudomonas have become a serious health concern. Routine antimicrobial disk susceptibility tests in clinical laboratories cannot distinguish between isolates that are highly carbapenem-resistant and those that are moderately carbapenem-resistant. The present study describes antimicrobial susceptibility tests using disks containing high doses (1000 μg) of meropenem.
