Metastatic spread to the pancreas from renal cell carcinoma is a relatively rare event. Even rarer is the metachronous occurrence of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Our case report contributes to the existing literature by documenting the unusual occurrence of metachronous ccRCC and PDAC in a 69-year-old patient, and we review the literature.

Flexible tactile sensors have attracted significant interest because of their application scope in the fields of biomedicine, motion detection, and human-computer interaction. However, the development of tactile sensors with high sensitivity and flexibility remains a critical challenge. This study develops a patterned, stretchable, and fully elastomeric multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/silver nanowire (Ag NW)/silicone rubber (SR) composite.

Objective: To elucidate the effect of aspirin (ASP) on the biological behavior of gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) cells and its influence on vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression.
Methods: Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assay was performed to determine the effects of ASP on GBC-SD cell proliferation. In addition, Transwell assay and flow cytometry were carried out to observe the role of ASP in GBC-SD cell migration, invasion and apoptosis, respectively.

Objective: This study was designed to determine the effects of hospital-family holistic care mode on psychological state and nutritional status of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of 80 patients with IBD treated in The Second Affiliated Hospital of Jiaxing University from May 2021 to November 2022. Among the patients, 37 patients who received conventional care were assigned to a control group and the remaining 43 patients who received hospital-family holistic care were assigned to an intervention group.

There is no strong evidence indicating the optimal treatment for breast cancer (BC) and no specific prognostic model. The aim of this study was to establish nomograms to predict the overall survival (OS) of BC patients receiving chemoradiotherapy and surgery, thereby quantifying survival benefits and improving patient management. A total of 1877 patients with primary nonmetastatic BC who received chemoradiotherapy and surgery from 2010 to 2019 were identified from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database as the training cohort, 804 as the internal validation cohort, and 796 patients from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University (n=324) and Jiaxing Maternal and Child Health Hospital (n=472) as the external validation cohort.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFlexible humidity sensors have found new applications in diverse fields including human healthcare, the Internet of Things, and so on. In this paper, a highly sensitive humidity sensor based on carboxymethyl cellulose@graphene and conductive adhesive tape was developed. The sensor was constructed on conductive tape which acted as both of the flexible substrate and the electrode to transmit electronic signals.

Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the leading malignancies of the digestive system. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are well-established to play critical regulatory roles in GC development. The current study sought to explore the effects and regulatory mechanism of circ_0001013 in the course of GC.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the use of single residue substitution to promote the formation of pi-stacking interactions between peptides and Human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-A*2402 molecules to improve the affinity of peptides and HLA molecules, as well as the level of cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) cells activated by peptides-HLA (p-HLA) complex.
Methods: Molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation were used to simulate and analyze the interactions and binding free energies between HLA-A*2402-restricted antigen peptides and HLA molecules, before and after the single residue substitution. HLA-A*2402 restricted antigen peptides before and after the single residue replacement were loaded into dendritic cells (DCs) in vitro, and further Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSpot (ELispot) test was carried out to evaluate the effect of modified antigen peptides on the immune activation of CTL cells.

AMPK-related kinase 5 (ARK5) is a member of the human AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) family, which is associated with increased tumor survival and drug resistance in many cancers. However, the function of ARK5 in pancreatic carcinoma (PC) is unclear. Our study investigated the role of ARK5 in the chemo-resistance of PC and its underlying mechanism.

We report two cases with successful ablation of left-sided accessory pathways and premature ventricular contractions from mitral annulus with one ablation. To our knowledge, no similar reports have been found so far.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effects of electroacupuncture (EA) combined with clean intermittent catheterization (CIC) on spinal cord injury (SCI) induced urinary retention.
Methods: A total of 107 patients with SCI induced urinary retention were randomly divided into 3 groups, including group 1 (CIC treatment), group 2 (EA combined with CIC treatment), and group 3 (sham acupuncture combined with CIC treatment). After different treatments, the residual urine volume, voided volume (each time), number of bladder balance patients, and frequency of CIC were recorded and compared.

Objective: To investigate the association between polymorphism of Klotho G-395A and susceptibility of coronary artery disease (CAD) in East-Asia population.
Methods: A total of 6 case-control studies involving 1560 patients and 1459 controls were analyzed in the study. PubMed, Embase, CBM disc, Wanfang database were searched for published case-control studies investigating the association between Klotho G-395A and CAD that were available before Dec.
