Objective: To evaluate the residual placental volume and correlated factors using three-dimensional ultrasound (3D) in patients with placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) after conservative management.
Materials And Methods: From January 2005 to December 2023, we retrospectively reviewed patients with PAS who underwent prophylactic transcatheter arterial embolization and retained the placenta in situ. The residual placental volume was assessed using 3D ultrasound equipped with virtual organ computer-aided analysis.

Rationale And Objectives: To develop a prognostic nomogram using mammography data and AJCC staging to predict breast cancer survival.
Materials And Methods: A prognostic nomogram was created using data from 1000 women diagnosed with breast cancer at a medical cancer center in Taiwan between 2011 and 2015. The variables included age at diagnosis (≤60 or > 60 years), mammography purpose (screening or diagnostic), mammography modality (digital mammogram or digital breast tomosynthesis), and the 7th American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) stage.

A 36-year-old woman, gravida 3, para 1 (previous cesarean section), with one medical abortion, and no history of systemic diseases presented an unremarkable medical history during prenatal visits. The final prenatal ultrasound at 38 weeks of gestation showed a vertex presentation, a weight of 2600 g, a normal amniotic fluid level, and the placenta located on the posterior wall of the uterus. Fetal cardiotocography conducted before delivery reported a reactive heart rate without decelerations.

Robot-assisted therapy and mirror therapy are both effective in promoting upper limb function after stroke and combining these two interventions might yield greater therapeutic effects. We aimed to examine whether using mirror therapy as a priming strategy would augment therapeutic effects of robot-assisted therapy. Thirty-seven chronic stroke survivors (24 male/13 female; age = 49.

Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a common side effect of typical chemotherapeutics among cancer survivors. Despite the recent progress, the effective prevention and treatment strategies for CIPN remain limited. Better understanding of the pathogenesis of CIPN may provide new niches for developing a new ideal therapeutic strategy.

Observational studies have demonstrated that low blood pressure is related to poor clinical outcomes in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Subgroup analyses from the SPRINT trial showed that targeting systolic blood pressure under 120 mmHg is less beneficial for patients with CKD. Although malnutrition and inflammation are common in patients with advanced CKD, such patients are usually excluded from clinical trials.

Objectives: To determine whether insomnia at baseline is a risk factor for new-onset asthma.
Methods: We recruited 48 871 patients with insomnia (insomnia group) newly diagnosed between 2002 and 2007, and 97 742 matched controls without insomnia (control group) from Taiwan's Longitudinal Health Insurance Database 2000. All of the patients were followed up for 4 years to see whether new-onset asthma developed.

Sodium glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors have shown a potential for renoprotection beyond blood glucose lowering. Glycosuria in nondiabetic patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is sometimes noted. Whether glycosuria in CKD implies a channelopathy or proximal tubulopathy is not known.

Objective: Few studies address quality of care in pay-for-performance (P4P) programs from the perspective of patients' perceptions. This study aimed to examine and compare the patient assessment of diabetes chronic care as perceived by diabetic patients enrolled and not enrolled in a P4P program from the patients' self-reported perspectives.
Design: A cross-sectional study with case and comparison group design.

Background: Systolic blood pressure (SBP) goal for chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients is ≤140mm Hg. However, the SBP target provides no suggested lower limit, and some studies indicate that a lower SBP target may be harmful. We aimed to investigate the J-shaped relationship between SBP and clinical outcomes in CKD patients and the factors that modify this relationship.

Radiocontrast-induced nephropathy (RCIN) is an acute and severe complication after coronary angiography, particularly for patients with pre-existing chronic kidney disease (CKD). It has been associated with both short- and long-term adverse outcomes, including the need for renal replacement therapy, increased length of hospital stay, major cardiac adverse events, and mortality. RCIN is generally defined as an increase in serum creatinine concentration of 0.

TKA is a highly effective means of treating (advanced knee arthritis) degenerative joint disease. Previous studies have demonstrated that a high surgical volume for total joint arthroplasty reduces morbidity and improved economic outcome, these methods for themselves are fraught with complexity, uncertainty and non-linear problem in terms of medical datasets may be unable to more accurately finding important information. As medical datasets often include a large number of features (attributes), some of which are irrelevant, and therefore it cannot intuitively understand the corresponding to main factors which affecting the resource utilizations of healthcare.
