Flexible wearable sensors have obtained tremendous interest in various fields and conductive hydrogels are a promising candidate. Nevertheless, the insufficient mechanical properties, the low electrical conductivity and sensitivity, and the limited functional properties prevent the development of hydrogels as wearable sensors. In this study, an SFMA/BAChol/PAA/ZnCl hydrogel was fabricated with high mechanical strength and versatile comprehensive properties.

The Role and Mechanism of TRIM Proteins in Gastric Cancer.

Cells

December 2024

The National Engineering Research Center for Bioengineering Drugs and the Technologies, Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Bioengineering Drugs, Institute of Translational Medicine, Jiangxi Medical College, Nanchang University, Nanchang 330031, China.

Tripartite motif (TRIM) family proteins, distinguished by their N-terminal region that includes a Really Interesting New Gene (RING) domain with E3 ligase activity, two B-box domains, and a coiled-coil region, have been recognized as significant contributors in carcinogenesis, primarily via the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) for degrading proteins. Mechanistically, these proteins modulate a variety of signaling pathways, including Wnt/β-catenin, PI3K/AKT, and TGF-β/Smad, contributing to cellular regulation, and also impact cellular activities through non-signaling mechanisms, including modulation of gene transcription, protein degradation, and stability via protein-protein interactions. Currently, growing evidence indicates that TRIM proteins emerge as potential regulators in gastric cancer, exhibiting both tumor-suppressive and oncogenic roles.

Res Vet Sci

January 2025

Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, College of Animal Science and Technology, Jiangxi Agricultural University, Zhimin Street, Qingshan Lake, Nanchang 330045, PR China. Electronic address:

Heterogeneous ribonucleoprotein K (hnRNPK) is a well-known RNA-binding protein initially identified for its role in inhibiting the growth of various human tumors. Members of the hnRNP family have also been implicated in both interferon production and RNA virus replication. However, the role of chicken hnRNPK (chhnRNPK) in the replication of Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV) remains unclear.

January 2025

Jiangxi Key Laboratory of Bioprocess Engineering, College of Life Sciences, Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University, Nanchang 330013, China. Electronic address:

The domestication of ducks represents a pivotal evolutionary shift from the unguided propagation of wild species to deliberate human-mediated selection, culminating in distinct behavioural, morphological, and physiological traits that differentiate domesticated ducks from their wild counterparts. This transition has yielded breeds with traits fine-tuned to specific economic roles, such as egg production, meat yield, or dual-purpose functionality. Duck domestication plays a significant role in poultry production globally, meeting the growing demand for eggs and meat in various regions.

Triptolide alleviates allergic airway inflammation by inhibiting group 2 innate lymphoid cell function.

Int Immunopharmacol

January 2025

State Key Laboratory for Animal Disease Control and Prevention, Key Laboratory of Animal Virology of the Ministry of Agriculture, Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Lanzhou, China.

Group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) produce the type 2 cytokines IL-5 and IL-13 and contribute to type 2 immune responses, such as allergic airway inflammation. However, specific drugs, especially traditional Chinese medicines, that target lung ILC2s have rarely been reported. Here, we demonstrate that triptolide ameliorates allergic airway inflammation by suppressing ILC2 activation.

Extending Exciton Diffusion Length via an Organic-Metal Platinum Complex Additive for High-Performance Thick-Film Organic Solar Cells.

Adv Mater

January 2025

Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory for Science of Material Creation and Energy Conversion, Institute of Frontier Chemistry, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Shandong University, Qingdao, 266237, P. R. China.

The long exciton diffusion length (L) plays an important role in promoting exciton dissociation, suppressing charge recombination, and improving the charge transport process, thereby improving the performance of organic solar cells (OSCs), especially in thick-film OSCs. However, the limited L hinders further improvement in device performance as the film thickness increases. Here, an organic-metal platinum complex, namely TTz-Pt, is synthesized and served as a solid additive into the D18-Cl:L8-BO system.

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Pollution Control and Resources Reuse, College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tongji University, Shanghai 200092, China.

Iodinated DBPs (I-DBPs), many more toxic than regulated chlorinated and/or brominated DBPs, are a major challenge in the supply of safe drinking water. While over 800 DBPs have been identified, the occurrence and precursors of toxic I-DBPs remain poorly understood. Herein, natural organic matter from two raw drinking waters was fractionated using ultrafiltration membranes into different groups based on molecular weight (MW).

It is significant to study the stability of surrounding rock in soft rock tunnels to ensure construction safety and improve efficiency. Through triaxial shear tests on soft rock at various confining pressures, we observed the failure characteristics transitioning from strain softening to strain hardening as confining pressure increases. An improved Hoek-Brown strength criterion has been proposed to characterize the critical confining pressure effect of soft rock, with tensile strength in the tensile zone aligning with experimental results, showing an error of less than 5%.
