Essential oils (EOs) are natural, volatile substances derived from aromatic plants. They exhibit multiple pharmacological effects, including antibacterial, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, with broad application prospects in health care, food, and agriculture. However, the instability of volatile components, which are susceptible to deterioration under light, heat, and oxygen exposure, as well as limited water solubility, have significantly impeded the development and application of EOs.

The urgent need for new medications that regulate CYP2E1, CASP3, Nrf2, HO-1, TLR2, TLR4, STAT3, and NF-κB activities is paramount for the treatment of drug-induced liver injury (DILI), particularly from acetaminophen (APAP). Previous studies have suggested that platycosides of Platycodonis Radix exhibits hepatoprotective properties against APAP-induced liver injury (AILI), and their serum metabolites may be the effective agents. As the identify the serum metabolites of platycosides is a huge challenge, the mechanism whether platycosides exert effects through the serum metabolites regulating those targets still remain unclear.

To improve the retention time and skin-whitening efficacy of Atractylodes macrocephale essential oil (AMO), a novel Pickering emulsion based nanogel loaded with AMO (AMO-PEG) was successfully developed. This formulation employed nano-pearl powder (NPP) as the particle stabilizer for the Pickering emulsion and Bletilla striata polysaccharide (BSP) as the gel matrix. The pH, rheological properties, hardness, and elasticity of AMO-PEG were affected by the ratio of AMO-Pickering emulsion (AMO-PE) to BSP gel matrix.

Rationale: Flavonoid C-glycosides have a wide range of pharmacological activities. However, there are few mass spectrometric research on C,O-disaccharide flavonoid C-glycosides and di-C,O-saccharide flavonoid C-glycosides. Their low-energy collision-induced dissociation (ESI-CID-MS/MS) fragmentation pattern and differences have not been reported, and the fragment ion library is incomplete.

Nakaike, a fern widely distributed in China and some countries in Southeast Asia, is a commonly used herbal medicine in tonic diets and Chinese patented medicine. The metabolites of its dried rhizomes are easily affected by the epiphytic pattern, whether on rock tunnels (RTs) or tree trunks (TTs). The current research focused on rhizomes from these two patterns, RTs and TTs (further divided into subclasses TA, TB, TC, and TD, based on trunk differences) and conducted a widely targeted metabolomics analysis.

This study aims to reveal the effects of maltodextrin(MD) on the water adsorption and thermodynamic properties of Codonopsis Radix(DS) spray-dried powder by determining the moisture and energy changes of the powder in the process of moisture absorption. The static weighing method was used to obtain the isothermal water adsorption data of the spray-dried powder in 6 saturated salt solutions(KAc, MgCl_2·6H_2O, K_2CO_3, NaBr, NaCl, and KCl) at 3 temperatures(25, 35, and 45 ℃). Six models were used for fitting of the water adsorption process, and the most suitable model was selected based on the model performance.

The aim of this paper was to screen out relevant genes of geniposide-induced hepatotoxicity based on genomics,in order to provide a scientific basis for the non-clinical evaluation of drugs containing Gardeniae Fructus and geniposide. Fifty-five SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group,24 h group and 72 h group. The changes of appearance, behavior and weight of rats were observed after administration by gavage for 3 days.

Non-muscle myosin heavy chain IIA (NMMHC IIA), a member of Myosin II family, plays a critical role in various cellular physiological processes. Our previous research had suggested that NMMHC IIA could participate in regulating tight junction morphological changes induced by ischemia stroke. Thus, in the current study, we attempted to uncover the regulation pattern of NMMHC IIA on tight junction dysfunction in oxygen glucose-deprived (OGD) mouse brain bEND.

The plants of Chloranthaceae are widely distributed and rich in resources in our country, records of ancient herbs indicaded that various species of plants of Chloranthaceae can be used for medicinal purposes, especially the Sarcandra glabra which with the least toxicity and possessed the function of clearing heat and cooling blood, activating blood to eliminate spots and removing wind and dredging collaterals. Based on the theory of herbage and by the method of consulting the past herbal literature, we summarized and analyzed the medicinal history, distribution characteristics of herbage geography, characteristics of herbage ecology, standard collection situation and the modern toxicology research of Chloranthaceae plants. Therefore we explained the scientificity for selection of medicinal herbs of Chloranthaceae plants, and provided a theoretical and scientific basis for further research of Chloranthaceae plants.

V-C horizontal diffusion cell and HPLC determination have been used to study the effect of 1,2-propanediol and azone on the percutaneous absorption Venenum Bufonis. The contents of resibufogenin have been determined through mouse skin in vitro by HPLC. The results indicate that the contents get increased when 1,2-propanediol is added and that azone can shorten the lag time of percutaneous absorption of resibufogenin through mouse skin in vitro.
