Aim: To study retinal microvascular and microstructural alterations in meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) in severely obese population using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).
Methods: Twelve MGD patients with severely obese population (PAT group; 24 eyes) and 12 healthy controls (HC group; 24 eyes) were recruited. OCTA images were segmented into five [superior (S), nasal (N), inferior (I), temporal (T), and central foveal (C)] or nine [inner superior (IS), outer superior (OS), inner nasal (IN), outer nasal (ON), inner inferior (II), outer inferior (OI), inner temporal (IT), outer temporal (OT), and C] subregions.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disorder that primarily causes symmetrical polyarthritis and bone deformity. In RA patients, sight-threatening inflammatory eye complications would be expected.
Objective: The objective of the study is to ascertain the macular retinal vessel density changes in RA patients and controls using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA), and to investigate the association between disease and microvascular density alterations.

Background: The aim of this study was to decide the role of the polarization of macrophages regulated by tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)-induced protein 8-like 2 (TIPE2) in meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).
Methods: Firstly, the secretory function of the meibomian gland (MG) in apolipoprotein E knockout (ApoE) MGD mice and normal mice was detected by oil red staining. Then, the expression levels of markers of M1 and M2 macrophages were detected by immunofluorescence staining in MGD, normal mice, and mild and severe MGD corpses to decide the role of M1 and M2 macrophages in MGD inflammation.

Objective: To study the role of MLN4924 in corneal stem cell maintenance and corneal injury repair.
Methods: In cell experiments, the Sprague-Dawley (SD) rat corneal epithelial cells were co-cultured with mitomycin C-inactivated mouse feeder cells in a supplemental hormonal epithelial medium (SHEM) with or without MLN4924. Cells were photographed using an optical microscope.

Background: Myopia has become a worldwide problem that endangers public health and adds a serious socioeconomic burden. Current research has focused on the pathogenesis and manifestations of pathological myopia (PM). However, few studies have been conducted on the spontaneous activity of the patient's brain.

Background: Previous studies have indicated that pain-related diseases can result in significant functional alterations in the brain. However, differences in spontaneous brain activity in toothache (TA) patients remain unclear.
Objective: To investigate altered spontaneous brain activity in patients with TA and its underlying mechanisms using the resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging-fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (rsfMRI-fALFF) technique.

Purpose: Previous studies on monocular blindness (MB) have mainly focused on concept and impact. The present study measured spontaneous brain activity in MB patients using the percentage of amplitude fluctuation (PerAF) method.
Methods: Twenty-nine patients with MB (21 male and 8 female) and 29 age-, gender-, and weight-matched healthy controls (HCs) were recruited.

Lung cancer is a common malignant tumor, characterized by being difficult to detect and lacking specific clinical manifestations. This study aimed to find out the risk factors of mediastinal lymph node metastasis and explore the correlation between serum tumor markers and mediastinal lymph node metastasis and lung cancer prognosis. A retrospective study of 3,042 lung cancer patients (330 patients with mediastinal lymph node metastasis and 2,712 patients without mediastinal lymph node metastasis) collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from April 1999 to July 2020.

Background: To date, no in-depth study has been conducted on the intrinsic pathological relationship between altered brain activity and related behavioral changes in patients with orbital fracture (OF).
Purpose: The present research aimed to explore the potential functional network cerebrum activities in patients with OF using resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging-fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (rsfMRI-fALFF). This technique can reveal dynamic functional changes in specific cerebrum areas.

Purpose: To evaluate potential regional homogeneity (ReHo) cerebrum function lesions in people with severe obesity and meibomian gland dysfunction (SM) and probe the connection between aberrant cerebrum activity and clinical manifestations.
Patients And Methods: An aggregation of 12 patients with SM, and 12 healthy controls (HCs) closely matched in age and gender were enrolled. We applied corneal confocal microscopy and fundus angiography to compare imaging distinctions between the two groups.
