Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are essential modulators of epigenetic modifications under abiotic stress. However, the mutual regulation mechanism of the two under cadmium (Cd) stress is unclear. In this work, we investigated this issue using Cd-stressed pakchoi seedlings treated with six epi-modification inhibitors (5-AC, RG108, TSA, CUDC101, AT13148, and H89) as experimental materials.

Heat stress (HS) brings great challenges to the poultry industry. Vitamin B6 (VB6) is an essential micro-nutrient for animals to maintain normal physiological functions and possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This study aimed to explore the effect of VB6 on alleviating HS-induced intestinal barrier impairment in broilers.

Unlabelled: Meeting the ever-increasing food demands of a growing global population while ensuring resource and environmental sustainability presents significant challenges for agriculture worldwide. Arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis (AMS) has emerged as a potential solution by increasing the surface area of a plant's root system and enhancing the absorption of phosphorus, nitrogen nutrients, and water. Consequently, there is a longstanding hypothesis that rice varieties exhibiting more efficient AMS could yield higher outputs at reduced input costs, paving the way for the development of Green Super Rice (GSR).

Background: Hyperuricaemia (HUA) is a disorder of purine metabolism in the body. We previously synthesized a hesperitin (Hsp)-Cu(II) complex and found that the complex possessed strong uric acid (UA)-reducing activity in vitro. In this study we further explored the complex's UA-lowering and nephroprotective effects in vivo.

The role of the nucleolus in Pakchoi response to Cd stress remains largely unknown. In this work, we focus on exploring the underling mechanism between nucleolus disruption and epigenetic modification in Cd stressed-Pakchoi. Our results indicated that the proportion of nucleolus disruption, decondensation of 45 S rDNA chromatin, and a simultaneous increase in 5' external transcribed spacer region (ETS) transcription were observed with increasing Cd concentration, accompanied by genome-wide alterations in the levels of histone acetylation and methylation.

Vanadium (V) is an essential mineral element in animals, but excessive V can lead to many diseases, affecting the health of humans and animals. However, the molecular crosstalk between mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum membranes (MAMs) and inflammation under V exposure is still at the exploratory stage. This study was conducted to determine the molecular crosstalk between MAMs and inflammation under V exposure in ducks.

Background: Pueraria is a dry root commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine or as food and fodder, and tuberous root expansion is an important agronomic characteristic that influences its yield. However, no specific genes regulating tuberous root expansion in Pueraria have been identified. Therefore, we aimed to explore the expansion mechanism of Pueraria at six developmental stages (P1-P6), by profiling the tuberous roots of an annual local variety "Gange No.

Herein, the anti-glycation potential of hesperetin-Cu (II) complex was investigated. Hesperetin-Cu (II) complex strongly inhibited three stages glycosylation products in bovine serum albumin (BSA)-fructose model, especially for the inhibition of AGEs (88.

Cadmium (Cd), a persistent and harmful heavy metal in the environment, can accumulate in the kidneys and cause nephrotoxicity. Selenium (Se) is a beneficial natural element that alleviates the toxicity of Cd. To ascertain the relationship between the protective mechanism of Se against Cd nephrotoxicity and ferroptosis and pyroptosis, we randomly divided 48 sheep into four groups and treated them with Cd chloride and/or sodium selenite for 50 days.

The extent of molecular diversity and differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) in transgenic lines provide valuable information to understand the phenotypic performance of transgenic crops compared with their parents. Here, we compared the differences in the phenotypic variation of twelve agronomic and end-use quality traits, the extent of microsatellite diversity, and DEPs of a recurrent parent line with three transgenic rice restorer lines carrying either gene on chromosome 11 or gene on chromosome 12 or both genes. The three transgenic lines had significantly smaller stem borer infestation than the recurrent parent without showing significant differences among most agronomic traits, yield components, and end-use quality traits.

There were no noteworthy changes in the relative weight of organs, hepatic histomorphology, serum alkaline phosphatase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase and glutamic oxalacetic transaminase activities, and Mn, Cu, and Fe concentrations in leg muscle, the liver, the tibia, and feces among the IUGR, NBW, and IUGR+NZ groups (P>0.05), and no intact Nano-ZnO in the jejunum, liver, and muscle was observed, while dietary Nano-ZnO increased the Zn concentrations in the tibia, the liver, serum, and feces (P<0.

Genistein (GEN) has been demonstrated to interfere with antitumor effects of cisplatin (CIS) in vitro. To analyze whether these findings are also relevant in vivo, we examined the effects of combined GEN and CIS treatment in an ovariectomized nude mouse breast cancer xenograft model. Tumor growth and markers for antitumor activity were determined after three weeks of treatment.
