Accurate cutting pattern recognition method for shearer in coal mining process has drawn more and more attention over the past decades due to its important role in guaranteeing the steady operation of the equipment, which, however, remains challenging caused by the mismatch of cutting pattern recognition especially for dynamic uncertainty of future sampled data. Therefore, a novel approach for cutting pattern recognition with an optimal Online Correcting Strategy (OCS) combined with Least Square Support Vector Machine (LSSVM) and Chaos Modified Particle Swarm Optimization (CMPSO) algorithm, named OCS-CMPSO-LSSVM, is proposed, where LSSVM models the functional relationship between input and output of the system, CMPSO optimizes the parameters of LSSVM, and OCS modifies the model to reduce its mismatch as the system runs, respectively. The performance of the proposed model is demonstrated with a simulation experiment and compared with the existing methods reported in the literature in detail.

Influence of Flue Gas Injection on the Long-Term Durability of a Natural Draft Concrete Cooling Tower.

Materials (Basel)

Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Environmental Impact and Structural Safety in Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou 221116, China.

The article undertakes the very important topic of the long-term durability of concrete in a natural draft concrete cooling tower with flue gas injection. The corrosive conditions, including temperature, relative humidity, and CO and SO gas concentrations, near the inner wall of a cooling tower with flue gas injection were monitored in real time to obtain the long-term durability performance of concrete. The pH and chemical compositions of the condensed liquid that adhered to the tower's inner face and the macromorphology, compressive strength, and neutralization depth of in situ specimens were tested periodically.

Aggregate gradation effects on dilatancy behavior and acoustic characteristic of cemented rockfill.

Ultrasonics

February 2019

State Key Laboratory for Geomechanics & Deep Underground Engineering, China University of Mining & Technology, Xuzhou, Jiangsu 221116, China.

Investigating the effect of the aggregate gradation on the material properties of cemented rockfill is significant for the green mining, economic benefit and engineering safety. Consequently, the ultrasonic test, uniaxial compression experiment and acoustic emission (AE) monitor on cemented rockfill were carried out, for which the aggregate satisfied Talbot gradation. The dilatancy behavior and AE characteristic of cemented rockfill under load were investigated.

The Precambrian sedimentary strata on the southern margin of the North China Craton are well developed and widely exposed, making the region ideal for the study of depositional processes. However, because of the length of the depositional history and the lack of biogenic criteria, interpretations of the sedimentary environments of the Precambrian strata are often based on the tectonic background, geographical environment, rock type and sedimentary structures, resulting in controversies in the literature. In this study of the Bingmagou Formation in the Ruyang Group on the southern margin of the North China Craton, analysis of petrologic features, palaeocurrents and sedimentary facies is combined with regional correlation of relevant strata and the reconstruction of ancient landforms to explain the depositional environments and environmental transitions.
