Due to the shallow burial of groundwater in coal mines with a high phreatic water level, a large area of subsidence lakes is formed after the mine collapses. Agricultural and fishery reclamation activities have been carried out, which introduced antibiotics and exacerbated the contamination of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), but this has received limited attention. This study analyzed ARG occurrence in reclaimed mining areas, the key impact factors, and the underlying mechanism.

Degradation Mechanism of Coal Gangue Concrete Suffering from Sulfate Attack in the Mine Environment.

Materials (Basel)

January 2023

State Key Laboratory for Geomechanics and Deep Underground Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou 221116, China.

Recycling coal gangue as aggregate to produce concrete in situ is the most effective way to solve the problem of deposited coal gangue in mines. Nevertheless, the mine environment underground is rich in sulfate ions, posing a threat to the durability of coal gangue concrete (CGC). Hence, the degradation process of sulfate-attacked CGC is investigated.

Preparation of a novel environmentally friendly and cost-effective composite adsorbent for fluoride removal is presented in this work. An activated sludge lysis ash/chitosan (ASLA/C) composite adsorbent was synthesised using an coprecipitation method, and the removal effect of the material was analysed by static adsorption, isothermal adsorption and kinetic adsorption tests. Langmuir model could better describe the adsorption process and the adsorption was in accordance with the kinetic equation of the pseudo-second-order kinetics reaction.

The aim of this study was to reveal the spatiotemporal pattern of the supply and demand of ecosystem services (ESs), as well as the significant driving factors for understanding the impact of human activities on the natural ecosystem. To provide a scientific basis for formulating regional sustainable development strategies that enhance human well-being, resource-based cities in the Yellow River Basin (YRB) were selected as the case study. The supply and demand of ecosystem services in these cities from 2000 to 2020 were measured.

To realize load balancing of cloud computing platforms in big data processing, the method of finding the optimal load balancing physical host in the algorithm cycle is adopted at present. This optimal load balancing strategy that overly focuses on the current deployment problem has certain limitations. It will make the system less efficient and the user's waiting time unnecessarily prolonged.

Effect of Ultrasonic Pretreatment on Flocculation Filtration of Low-Rank Coal Slurry.

Molecules

September 2022

National Engineering Research Center of Coal Preparation and Purification, China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou 221116, China.

The efficient filtration of low-rank coal (LRC) slurry was significantly beneficial to the production process of wet coal beneficiation. However, relatively few studies have been reported on novel pretreatment methods for the efficient filtration of LRC slurry. In this paper, the mechanism of ultrasonic pretreatment to promote flocculation and filtration of slurry was studied.

It has been generally proved that mixed collectors can enhance the flotation of low-rank coal (LRC). However, the inhibition effect of mixed collectors on the detachment between particles and bubbles is still unclear. In this paper, the energy feature of air bubble detachment from the LRC surface in the presence of dodecane (D), oleic acid (OA), and the mixture of dodecane and oleic acid (OA-D) was studied.

In order to further explore the relationship between the excavation speed and the damage of surrounding rocks and dynamic manifestation, the stress paths of unloading confining pressure and loading axial pressure were designed based on the changes in the roadway surrounding rock stress in this study. Additionally, the mechanical properties and energy evolution law of the coal body were investigated under various unloading rates. As the unloading rate increased, the mechanical properties of the coal body including the failure strength, the confining pressure, the axial strain, and horizontal strain tended to decrease at the rupture stage, while the volume strain and the elastic modulus increased, indicating that the rupture form evolved from the ductile failure to brittle failure.
