Background: Recently, immunotherapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has shown promising efficacy in biliary tract cancer (BTC), which includes gallbladder cancer (GBC) and cholangiocarcinoma (CHOL). Understanding the association between immunotherapy outcomes and the genomic profile of advanced BTC may further improve the clinical benefits from immunotherapy.

Methods: Genomic tumor DNA was isolated from 98 Chinese patients with advanced BTC and used for targeted next-generation sequencing of 416 cancer-related genes to identify the genomic alterations common to advanced BTC.

Background And Purpose: Nanoparticle-loaded hydrogels - localized drug delivery devices containing a combination of therapeutic nanoparticles and implantable hydrogel - have been recipients of increased focus and interest for cancer treatment. However, it is difficult for the released nanoparticles to penetrate deeply into tumors because of the dense collagen network in the tumor extracellular matrix, which greatly limits their antitumor effect. We hypothesized that the implantation of a hydrogel loaded with both nanoparticles and losartan (Los) might enhance penetration because Los has been proven to effectively reduce collagen levels in various tumors.

A novel animal model involving chimeric mice with humanized livers established via human hepatocyte transplantation has been developed. These mice, in which the liver has been repopulated with functional human hepatocytes, could serve as a useful tool for investigating human hepatic cell biology, drug metabolism, and other preclinical applications. One of the key factors required for successful transplantation of human hepatocytes into mice is the elimination of the endogenous hepatocytes to prevent competition with the human cells and provide a suitable space and microenvironment for promoting human donor cell expansion and differentiation.

Objective: To observe and compare the effects of multi-patch biopsy under conventional white light imaging endoscopy (C-WLI) and precise targeted biopsy under magnifying narrow-band imaging endoscopy (M-NBI) on the endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) of early gastric cancers and intraepithelial neoplasias.
