This study aims to explore the anti-asthma components and mechanism of Kechuanting acupoint application therapy(KAAT) based on serum metabolomics and network pharmacology. A total of 60 asthma patients who had used low-dose inhaled corticosteroids-formoterol(ICS-formoterol) for a long time were randomized into the western medicine group(low-dose ICS-formoterol) and western medicine+Kechuanting group(KAAT+low-dose ICS-Formoterol), 30 in either group. In addition, 30 healthy people were included as the control(no intervention).

UPLC-Q-TOF-MS combined with network pharmacology and experimental verification was used to explore the mechanism of acupoint sticking therapy(AST) in the intervention of bronchial asthma(BA). The chemical components of Sinapis Semen, Cory-dalis Rhizoma, Kansui Radix, Asari Radix et Rhizoma, and Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens were retrieved from TCMSP as self-built database. The active components in AST drugs were analyzed by UPLC-Q-TOF-MS, and the targets were screened out in TCMSP and Swiss-TargetPrediction.

Following the preparation of substance benchmarks in Huanglian Decoction from 18 batches, the method for detecting their characteristic spectra was established to identify the similarity range and peak attribution. The content and transfer rate ranges of the index components coptisine, palmatine, berberine, liquiritin, glycyrrhizic acid, 6-gingerol, and cinnamaldehyde and the extraction amount were combined for analyzing the quality value transfer from the Chinese medicinal pieces to substance benchmarks and clarifying the key quality attributes of substance benchmarks in Huanglian Decoction. The results showed that the substance benchmarks in Huang-lian Decoction of 18 batches exhibited good similarity in characteristic spectra(all greater than 0.

Real world study(RWS) refers to the process of collecting real world data related to the health of research subjects in the real world environment for pre-set clinical problems and obtaining the status of drug use and potential benefits/risks through analysis. The data are derived from the hospital information system(HIS), medical insurance system, disease registration system, adverse drug reaction monitoring system, etc. Human use experience of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) is a new concept put forward by experts after summarizing the problems existing in clinical trials of new TCM drugs.

Objective: To explore the changes of anatomical biological parameters and dynamic parameters of the anterior segment (AS) before and after primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG) surgery.

Methods: The clinical data of 82 patients (82 eyes) who underwent phacoemulsification in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed and divided into group A (angle closure, n = 38) and group B (normal open angle, n = 44). The anatomical biological parameters and dynamic parameters were compared between the two groups before and after surgery.

Article Synopsis
  • The quality of new drug clinical trials in China has improved since the implementation of GCP in 2015, but remains below the standards of developed countries, particularly in trials involving traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
  • There are unique quality issues in TCM clinical trials, including non-standardized safety data collection, inadequate management of serious adverse reactions, and insufficient evaluation of the relationship between adverse events and trial drugs.
  • To enhance the quality of TCM new drug trials, it is crucial to adapt current GCP guidelines to better fit the characteristics of TCM, establishing specific quality control measures that can support the development of new drugs in this field.
