Chronic and infected wounds, particularly those caused by bacterial infections, present significant challenges in medical treatment. This study aimed to develop a novel nanoparticle formulation to enhance wound healing by combining antimicrobial and photothermal therapy using albumin as a carrier for Tanshinone IIA and the near-infrared photothermal agent IR780. The nanoparticles were synthesized to exploit the antimicrobial effects of Tanshinone IIA and the photothermal properties of IR780 when exposed to near-infrared laser irradiation.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Developing effective drugs is urgent for preventing platelet activation and atherosclerotic diseases. Qihuang Zhuyu formula (QHZYF) is a curative medical plants formula in clinic while its molecular mechanism remains to be further elucidated.
Aim Of The Study: To investigate how QHZYF, via the sirtuin 1 (SIRT1)/peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα) pathway, mediates the endocannabinoid system, regulates mitochondrial function, and inhibits platelet activation, thereby offering novel strategies for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a globally prevalent human DNA virus responsible for over 250 million cases of chronic liver infections, leading to conditions such as liver inflammation, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Sodium taurocholate co-transporting polypeptide (NTCP) is a transmembrane protein highly expressed in human hepatocytes and functions as a bile acid (BA) transporter. NTCP has been identified as the receptor that HBV and its satellite virus, hepatitis delta virus (HDV), use to enter hepatocytes.

Cachexia affects approximately 50-80 % of advanced cancer patients, particularly those with gastric cancer (GC). Therefore, early detection of cachexia is essential to prevent its progression. Targeting the gut microbiota may be a promising approach for preventing and treating cachexia in patients with GC.

Gastric adenocarcinoma (STAD) is characterized by high heterogeneity and aggressiveness, leading to poor prognostic outcomes worldwide. This study explored the prognostic significance of lactylation-related gene sets and mitochondrial functions in STAD by integrating large-scale genomic datasets, including TCGA and several GEO datasets. We utilized Spatial transcriptomics and single-cell RNA sequencing to delineate the tumor microenvironment and assess the heterogeneity of cellular responses within the tumor.

Background: Postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP) is the most common form of primary osteoporosis among women, and the associated pain often drives patients to seek clinical intervention. Numerous studies have highlighted the unique clinical benefits of exercise therapy (ET) in alleviating PMOP-related pain. However, bibliometric analyses examining collaboration, development trends, and research frontiers in the field of ET for PMOP pain remain scarce.

Background: Respiratory depression is a common complication during operative procedures, meanwhile, ciprofol can provide effective sedation for surgical operations. However, there is not enough evidence to prove the advantage of ciprofol in reducing respiratory depression. So, this meta-analysis aimed to assess the efficacy of ciprofol on the incidence of respiratory depression compared with propofol.

This study explores the clinical efficacy of intra-articular injection of chitosan combined with low-dose glucocorticoid for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis in early and middle stages. The visual analog scale (VAS) score, Lysholm score, Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) score, and changes in the levels of inflammatory cytokines IL-1, IL-6, and TNF-α in the joint fluid before and after treatment in the 3 groups were compared, and the clinical efficacy was evaluated. All cases were followed up, with a follow-up time of 7 to 12 months, and no lost cases.

Objective: Previous observational studies have indicated associations between various inflammatory cytokines and diabetic nephropathy (DN) caused by type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the causality remains unclear. We aimed to further evaluate the causal association between 91 inflammatory cytokines and DN using bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.

Background: Systemic corticosteroid has been recommended for the treatment of severe acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). Little is known about the use of systemic corticosteroid in patients admitted to intensive care units (ICU) since most of previous trials excluded these critically ill patients.
Methods: We conducted a matched cohort study based on the Medical Information Mart in Intensive Care-IV database.

The occurrence and development of depression are closely related to disorders of the brain and peripheral substances. Abnormal metabolites in the blood affect the signal regulation function of the nerve center, which is one of the key factors for depression episodes. This study was focused on metabolites in serum and the mechanism of its antidepressant in the hippocampus.

Background: Naoluotong granules (NLTGs) are a medicinal formula derived from traditional Chinese medicine, which have been demonstrated to be effective in slowing down the progression of atherosclerosis (AS) through clinical practice and animal experiments. By means of multidimensional analysis, the relevant mechanism of NLTGs in delaying the progression of atherosclerosis was studied, which is conducive to its widespread adoption.
Materials And Methods: In this study, data from network pharmacology and GEO database were comprehensively analysed to identify differentially expressed core cluster genes (DECCGs).

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional bowel disorder frequently associated with other pain syndromes and psychiatric conditions, including depression and anxiety. These abnormalities coincide with alterations in the brain's structure, particularly in the thalamus and cingulate system. Acupuncture has been demonstrated to be highly effective in treating IBS.
