Background: On the basis of immunohistochemistry PD-L1 testing results, patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are treated differently. Theoretically, patients with high PD-L1 expression (50% or 1%) should receive PD-1 monotherapy for fewer adverse reactions and cost savings from avoiding chemotherapy; however, there is controversy surrounding the cut-off criteria (1% or 50%) for immunohistochemistry testing and threshold for PD-1 monotherapy.
Objective: This study aims to predict the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of different immunotherapy strategies for patients with NSCLC in China from the healthcare system perspective.

The non-dendritic microstructure plays a crucial role in determining the rheological properties of semi-solid alloys, which are of the utmost importance for the successful industrial application of the thixoforging process. To further understand the impact of the reheating process on the evolution of microstructure and thixotropic deformation behavior in the semi-solid state, a hot extruded and T6 treated 7075 aluminum alloy was reheated to the selected temperature ranges using varying heating rates. Subsequently, thixo-compression tests were performed.

African swine fever (ASF) is an infectious disease caused by African swine fever virus (ASFV) that is highly contagious and has an extremely high mortality rate (infected by virulent strains) among domestic and wild pigs, causing huge economic losses to the pig industry globally. In this study, SDS-PAGE gel bands hybridized with ASFV whole virus protein combined with ASFV-convalescent and ASFV-positive pig serum were identified by mass spectrometry. Six antigens were detected by positive serum reaction bands, and eight antigens were detected in ASFV-convalescent serum.

This study revealed the spatial-temporal distribution of deoxynivalenol (DON), aflatoxin B (AFB), and zearalenone (ZEN) during the acetic acid fermentation (AAF) of aromatic vinegar and the corresponding correlation with the microbial community. A total of 324 samples were collected during the AAF process to analyze the mycotoxin content. The average DON content fluctuated during the first 7 d, while the average AFB and ZEN levels increased at 5-7 d and 7-11 d, respectively, remaining stable until the end of fermentation.

We have previously proven that the environmental toxin could accelerate the development and progression of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). However, the underlying mechanism associated with such excessive inflammation hasn't been fully illustrated. Although Genistein has been well accepted for its capability in anti-inflammation and anti-oxidation, its effect in ameliorating contaminants-induced NASH still needs to be identified.

Background: Numerous studies over the past four decades have revealed that breast cancer screening (BCS) significantly reduces breast cancer (BC) mortality. However, in BRICS-plus countries, the association between BCS and BC case fatality and disability are unknown. This study examines the association of different BCS approaches with age-standardized mortality, case-fatality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) rates, as well as with other biological and sociodemographic risk variables, across BRICS-plus from a national and economic perspective.

Traditional hybridization chain reaction (HCR) as a popular isothermal amplification technique shows some inevitable disadvantages in bioanalysis due to its relatively slow kinetics, which could be markedly promoted when the HCR initiator occurs under tension. Herein, a poly DNA tetrahedrons (pTDNs)-mediated HCR was successfully constructed to make its initiator in a stretched state by long-range electrostatic forces owing to the superimposed electrostatic interactions derived from the synthesized pTDNs, and it was hypothesized that it could remarkably enhance HCR performance, which was testified by theoretical simulations and experimental studies. Consequently, pTDNs-mediated HCR was applied to develop a novel immunoassay for rapid and sensitive detection of aflatoxin B1 as a proof-of-concept, and its signal amplification was attributed to the increased G DNAzyme that loaded on the second antibody.

Bispyribac-sodium (BIS) is a new broad-spectrum and efficient herbicide, which is widely used for the control of weeds in rice. To protect the human body from the threat of BIS exposure, it is essential to establish a sensitive and simple detection method. In this work, a high-affinity monoclonal antibody against BIS was produced for the first time, and a colloidal gold immunochromatographic strip assay (ICSA) was developed to screen for BIS in rice samples.

Due to the widely usage in livestock, aquaculture and clinics, antibiotic residues are existed in aqueous environments and their potential toxicity to aquatic organisms is concerning. Here, we used zebrafish as the model to investigate the neurotoxicity and involved mechanism of seven antibiotics that were frequently detected in surface waters. The results revealed that the short-term exposure to clarithromycin (CLA), chlortetracycline (CTC) and roxithromycin (ROX) induced behavioral effects, with effective concentration of 1 μg/L (CTC and ROX) and 100 μg/L (CLA, CTC and ROX) respectively.

Rabies is a zoonotic viral disease characterized by an almost 100% fatality rate once symptoms appear. However, it can be prevented through timely postexposure prophylaxis (PEP). Currently, there is a growing trend to replace polyclonal rabies immune globulin (RIG) with monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) in rabies PEP.

Drug-resistant Salmonella is widely distributed in the meat production chain, endangering food safety and public health. Acidification of meat products during processing can induce acid stress, which may alter antibiotic resistance. Our study investigated the effects of acid stress on the antibiotic resistance and metabolic profile of Salmonella Typhimurium, and explored the underlying mechanisms using metabolomic and transcriptomic analysis.

Quinoa protein isolate-gum Arabic (QPI-GA) conjugates were developed by ultrasound-assisted wet heating to improve the water solubility and bioactivity of spice essential oils (EOs) in this study. The optimal conditions for QPI-GA conjugates preparation were found to be: heating temperature of 72 ℃, ultrasound power of 450 W, and reaction time of 46 min. QPI-GA conjugates displayed significantly higher emulsifying efficiency and stronger tolerance to pH variation, high salt concentration, and storage than raw materials.

This study aims to develop a rapid and non-destructive method to identify counterfeit and substandard drugs, addressing the critical need for better quality control in drug production. According to the reasons for counterfeit products in actual production, the commonly used solid preparation excipients such as HPMC, MCC, Mg-St and Pregelatinized Starch, as well as three chemical drugs with similar efficacy to Guizhi-Fuling (GZFL) Capsule as adulterants, including Aspirin, Ibuprofen and Sinomenine Hydrochloride were selected and designed as adulteration samples with different levels of adulteration. NIR spectra were collected in a non-invasive mode and analyzed by one-class classification methods.

This paper reports the development of a hydrogel film with antibacterial activity and controlled release characteristics. Carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) is grafted onto durancin GL and inulin via a mediated reaction between N-hydroxysuccinimide and 1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride. Rheology tests, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and lap shear tests confirmed the formation of a stable chemical cross-linking and excellent adhesion hydrogel with 4 % CMCS and 8 % inulin.
