Although perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) are promising for next-generation displays and lighting, their efficiency is still considerably below that of conventional inorganic and organic counterparts. Significant efforts in various aspects of the electroluminescence process are required to achieve high-performance PeLEDs. Here, we present an improved flexible PeLED structure based on the rational interface engineering for energy-efficient photon generation and enhanced light outcoupling.

Hybrid white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) have drawn great attention both for display and solid-state lighting purposes because of the combined advantages of desirable stability of fluorescent dyes and high efficiency of phosphorescent materials. However, in most WOLEDs, obtaining high efficiency often requires complex device structures. Herein, we achieved high-efficiency hybrid WOLEDs using a simple but efficacious structure, which included a non-doped blue emissive layer (EML) to separate the exciton recombination zone from the light emission region.

Solid-state lasers (SSLs) play an important role in developing optoelectronic devices, optical communication, and modern medicine fields. As compared with inorganic SSLs, the electrically pumped organic SSLs (OSSLs) still remain unrealized because of the high lasing threshold and low carrier mobility. Herein, we first demonstrate the laser action at ∼520 nm based on the self-assembled single-crystalline organic microribbons of the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) molecules of 1,4-bis(( E)-4-(1,2,2-triphenylvinyl)styryl)-2,5-dimethoxybenzene (TPDSB).

The core/shell micro-/nanostructures with versatility, tunability, stability, dispersibility, and biocompatibility are widely applied in optics, biomedicine, catalysis, and energy. Organic micro-/nanocrystals have significant applications in miniaturized optoelectronics because of their controllable self-assembly behavior, tunable optical properties, and tailor-made molecular structure. Nevertheless, the advanced organic core/shell micro-/nanostructures, which possess multifunctionality, flexibility, and higher compatibility, are rarely demonstrated because of the dynamic nature of molecular self-assembly and the complex epitaxial relationship of material combination.

Hybrid single-emitting layer (SEML) white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) incorporating blue thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) or fluorescent materials and yellow phosphors have been widely utilized for solid-state lighting. Nonetheless, developing appropriate host materials to reduce the large efficiency roll-off at high luminance is still an unsolved issue. Here, two TADF materials denoted as TRZ-CF and TRZ-CzF were synthesized, with electroluminescent emission peaking at 476 and 460 nm, respectively.

Full inorganic cesium lead halide perovskites (IOPs) are regarded as attractive candidates for light-emitting diodes (LEDs) by their excellent luminescent conversion. However, unsatisfactory efficiency and stability are still the main drawbacks that hinder the commercialization progress of perovskite LEDs (PeLEDs). Here, we report an extremely uniform and flat CsPbBr film composing of self-assembly core-shell structured quantum dots (SCQDs) based on one-step precursor coating.

How to maintain high power efficiency (PE) and color stability under operating brightness is critical for the white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs). To this end, two novel spiro-type materials STPy3 and STPy4 were designed. These materials could act as a single host and achieve a remarkable external quantum efficiency of 27.

Organic microcrystals are of essential importance for high fluorescence efficiency, ordered molecular packing mode, minimized defects, and smooth shapes, which are extensively applied in organic optoelectronics. The molecular packing mode significantly influences the optical/electrical properties of organic microcrystals, which makes the controllable preparation of organic microcrystals with desired molecular packing mode extremely important. In the study, yellow-emissive α phase organic microcrystals with rectangular morphology and green-emissive β phase perylene microcrystals with rhombic morphology are separately prepared by simply controlling the solution concentration.
