Background: Pulmonary fibrosis is one of the main reasons for the high mortality rate among acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients. Mesenchymal stromal cell-derived microvesicles (MSC-MVs) have been shown to exert antifibrotic effects in lung diseases.
Aim: To investigate the effects and mechanisms of MSC-MVs on pulmonary fibrosis in ARDS mouse models.

Aim: This study aimed to investigate whether computed tomography (CT)-measured erector spinae parameters (ESPs) have diagnostic, severity assessment, and prognostic predictive value in uremic sarcopenia (US).
Materials And Methods: A total of 202 uremic patients were enrolled and divided into two groups: a control group and a sarcopenia group. Sarcopenia was classified into two types: severe and nonsevere.

Cell-based therapies offer tremendous potential for skin flap regeneration. However, the hostile microenvironment of the injured tissue adversely affects the longevity and paracrine effects of the implanted cells, severely reducing their therapeutic effectiveness. Here, an injectable hydrogel (nGk) with reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging capability, which can amplify the cell viability and functions of encapsulated mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), is employed to promote skin flap repair.

Importance: It is currently unclear whether high-resolution computed tomography can preoperatively identify pathologic tumor invasion for ground-glass opacity lung adenocarcinoma.
Objectives: To evaluate the diagnostic value of high-resolution computed tomography for identifying pathologic tumor invasion for ground-glass opacity featured lung tumors.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This prospective, multicenter diagnostic study enrolled patients with suspicious malignant ground-glass opacity nodules less than or equal to 30 mm from November 2019 to July 2021.

Introduction: Central nervous system leukemia (CNSL) is the most common extramedullary relapse site in patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph-positive) acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), with a poor prognosis and high relapse rate.
Methods: We characterized the clinical data of 21 Ph-positive B-ALL patients to analyze the efficacy and safety of ponatinib for patients with central nervous system relapsed Ph-positive ALL retrospectively.
Results: There were 11 males and 10 females in the cohort, and their median age was 45 (9-58) years old.

Hyperthyroidism is associated with a number of heart diseases, and it may aggravate previous cardiac problems or cause new ones, such as hyperthyroid cardiopathy. Cases of hyperthyroidism presenting with coronary vasospasm are rarely reported. Herein, we present a case of a 54-year male patient with recurrent left chest pain for 2 months.

Background: The combination therapy of hydrocortisone, vitamin C, and thiamine has been proposed as a potential treatment in patients with sepsis and septic shock. However, subsequent trials have reported conflicting results in relation to survival outcomes. Hence, we performed this randomized controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of early combination therapy among adult patients with septic shock.

Recent studies have unveiled that LINC00173 promotes small cell lung cancer progression. However, LINC00173 has not been studied in Wilms' tumor (WT). -glycosylation is a complex post-translational protein modification, and alterations of protein glycosylation have been identified to affect the development of multiple tumors, including WT.

To explore the risk factors associated with septic cardiomyopathy and establish a predictive model of the disease based on left ventricular global longitudinal strain (LV GLS). Data from sepsis patients without a history of cardiac dysfunction who were treated in the Critical Care Department of the Northern Jiangsu People's Hospital from September, 2019 to January, 2021 were included in the analysis. The LV GLS was measured by echocardiography within 72 hours and the patients were divided into a septic myocardiopathy group (LV GLS>-17%) and a normal cardiac function group (LV GLS≤-17%).

Comprehending the biology of tumorigenesis needs identification of determinants of the immune reaction during cancer development. This study intends to illustrate the mechanistic actions of a bioinformatically predicted circRNA circ_002172 in cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) infiltration and escape of breast cancer (BC) from immunological destruction. Expression patterns of circ_002172, miR-296-5p, and CXCL12 were determined in BC tissues and cells.

Background: Convalescent plasma treatment for severe and critically ill Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients remains controversial.
Objective: To evaluate the clinical improvement and mortality risk of convalescent plasma treatment in patients with severe and critically ill COVID-19 patients.
Methods: A literature search was conducted in the electronic databases for the randomized controlled studies about convalescent plasma therapy in severe and critically ill COVID-19 patients.

Objectives: The 2018 Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC) recommends rapid administration of 30 mL/kg crystalloid fluids for hypotension or lactate ≥4 mmol/L in patients with septic shock; however, there is limited evidence to support this recommendation. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between initial fluid resuscitation doses and prognosis in patients with septic shock.
Methods: This was a multicenter prospective observational study of adult patients with septic shock who were admitted to four intensive care units (ICUs) in a total of three Jiangsu Province teaching hospitals over a 3-year span from May 8, 2018, to June 15, 2021.

Objective: To investigate the effect of complement C3 on the prognosis of patients with multiple myeloma (MM), and to establish a predictive model to evaluate the overall survival.
Methods: Eighty newly diagnosed MM patients were enrolled, and clinical characteristics, such as sex, age, platelet count, white blood cell count, ISS stage, FISH, levels of kappa and lammda chain, complement C3 and C4 were retrospectively analyzed. Cox regression model was used for univariate and multivariate analysis about risk factors that affecting the prognosis of the MM patients.
