Growing evidence has demonstrated that gut microbiota could be developed as a therapeutic target due to its contribution to microglia activation in the pathological process of ischemic stroke. Acorus tatarinowii oils (AT oils), which is considered as the active fraction of a traditional Chinese herbal medicine Acorus tatarinowii, exerts various bioactivities and prebiotic effects. However, it remains unclear that the effect of AT oils on inflammatory response after ischemic stroke and whether its underlying mechanism is associated to gut microbiota and the intestinal barrier.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (PD-1/PD-L1 and CTLA-4 blockade) have revolutionized the treatment landscape in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Secondary resistance to immunotherapy (IO), which poses a substantial challenge in clinical settings, occurs in several initial responders. Currently, new treatment approaches have been extensively evaluated in investigational studies for these patients to tackle this difficult problem; however, the lack of consistency in clinical definition, uniform criteria for enrollment in clinical trials, and interpretation of results remain significant hurdles to progress.

Obesity poses a serious threat to human health, and although bariatric surgery has been proven effective treatment for morbidly obese patients, its surgical risks and high medical costs limit its clinical application and popularity. Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG), as a relatively new endoscopic surgery technique for weight loss, has satisfactory weight loss effects compared to laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and lifestyle interventions, while preserving the normal structure of the stomach. Its weight loss effects and safety have been validated in multicenter studies abroad.

Environmental inequalities generated by transit-oriented development (TOD) are of planning and policy relevance in developing countries. Existing literature has pointed out that TOD has the effect of 'place making', which means the newly developed transit systems may be able to change the environment and amenities of a certain area. While previous studies have largely focused on environment hazards such as noise and pollution induced by transit systems, scant attention has been paid to visible green space provision at station areas.
