Survival outcomes of patients with heart failure (HF) based on their disease etiology are not well described. Here, we provide one-year mortality outcomes of 10850 patients with HF (mean age = 59.9 years, 31% women) in India.

The Effect of Preinduction Cervical Ripening With Synthetic Hygroscopic Dilators on Maternal Outcomes of Women With Previous Caesarean Pregnancy: A Single-Group Clinical Trial.

Preinduction cervical ripening in previous caesarean pregnancy is limited to intracervical Foley catheter. This study is aimed at finding the vaginal birth rates, improvement of Bishop score, and safety of osmotic dilator (Dilapan-S) among women with previous caesarean pregnancy. We conducted this single-group clinical study after the approval of the institute ethics committee, clinical trial registration, and obtaining informed consent.

A novel histologic index for polyomavirus nephropathy in comparison with the Banff scoring system: Clinical validation, prognostic implication, and correlation with plasma viral load.

BK Polyomavirus nephropathy (PVN) with definitive diagnosis on biopsy, presents incidentally or with varying degrees of graft dysfunction. Banff working group on PVN has proposed a novel scoring system in renal biopsies, to identify patients with higher risk of graft failure. In this study, we attempted to validate the Banff scoring system at index biopsies and correlate with a novel index score, plasma BK-virus load and graft outcome.

Persistence of Uterine Artery Doppler Velocimetry Changes in Postpartum Mothers Following a Delivery Complicated by Preeclampsia: A Systematic Review.

In preeclampsia, there occurs a defective trophoblastic invasion of spiral arteries, which is characterized by abnormal uterine artery wave parameter such as increased pulsatility index (PI) and early diastolic notch. This increased uterine artery PI is a good predictor of hypertensive disorder and small for gestational-age babies. Maternal hypertension and proteinuria resolve in the puerperium.

Traditionally, open surgical techniques like gastrojejunostomy (GJ) have been the standard treatment, but recent advances in minimally invasive procedures, such as endoscopic ultrasound-guided gastroenterostomy (EUS-GE), offer alternative approaches with potentially reduced morbidity. This systematic review compared the efficacy, safety, and clinical outcomes of endoscopic versus open surgical techniques in managing GOO.

Chronic Inflammatory Markers in Overweight and Obese Children: A Cross-sectional Analytical Study.

Introduction: Childhood obesity is associated with chronic low-grade systemic inflammation, which results in obesity-related comorbidities. This study compared the inflammatory markers between obese and normal children and assessed obesity-related comorbidities.

Methods: In this cross-sectional analytical study, 40 obese children between 5-18 years of age were recruited as cases, and an equal number of age and gender-matched normal children as the control.

Influence of COVID-19 Vaccination Covaxin on Menstrual Cycle among Adolescent Healthy Schoolgirls in South India.

This study was undertaken to assess the change in menstrual cycle interval, duration, amount of flow, and new onset of pain after the first and second dose of Covaxin vaccination among adolescent schoolgirls aged 15-18. Effect of torque customization with composite resin bases on the shear bond strength and adhesive remnant patterns of lingual brackets : An in vitro evaluation.

Purpose: This study evaluated the effect of torque customization of lingual brackets with resin-modified bases on their shear bond strength (SBS), adhesive remnant index (ARI), and bond failure patterns (BFP).

Methods: The sample comprised 200 lingual lower incisor brackets (DTC® ORG, DTC Medical Apparatus, Hangzhou, China); 40 brackets were tested as-received and 4 groups with 40 brackets each were customized for -10, -20, +10 and +20° torque respectively with light-cured composite resin (Transbond XT™, 3M Unitek, Monrovia, CA, USA) bases. All brackets were bonded to bovine mandibular incisors.
