Reverse Foster Kennedy Syndrome Caused by an Intra-axial Tumor.

We present a case of a 23-year-old male complaining of painless loss of vision in right eye for 1 year and rapidly progressing vision loss in left eye with bilateral lateral rectus palsy. His fundoscopy revealed optic atrophy on the right side and papilledema on the left. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed intra-axial contrast-enhancing left frontal tumor.

This first part of the position paper on incidental findings of the biliary system is related to general aspects, gallbladder polyps and other incidental findings of the gallbladder wall.

A Multicenter Cohort Study From India of ABO-Incompatible Kidney Transplantation in Post-COVID-19 Patients.

Background: There is a dearth of data regarding the consequences of ABO-incompatible kidney transplant (ABOiKTx) among post-COVID-19 candidates.

Methods: The study was designed as a retrospective, multicentric cohort study across 11 sites in India, from August 2020 to December 2021. The data for ABOiKTx conducted for post-COVID-19 candidates were investigated.

A Rare Case of Multicentric Primary Pulmonary Artery Sarcoma: Eliminating the Masquerade with Multimodality Imaging.

A 68-year-old male presented with a short history of exertional dyspnea and a provisional diagnosis of pulmonary thromboembolism was made. However, chest radiograph and further investigations in the form of computed tomography pulmonary angiogram, magnetic resonance imaging of thorax, and whole body fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography-computed tomography revealed a large mass arising from the distal left pulmonary artery extending into adjacent lung and another lesion near the root of the main pulmonary artery, both of which showed post-contrast enhancement and intense FDG uptake. Tissue sampling by transthoracic computed tomography-guided biopsy and immunohistochemistry confirmed the diagnosis of pulmonary artery angiosarcoma.

Background: Diagnosing sepsis early is important for its successful management. Various biomarkers are being used currently, but mostly they are either expensive or not readily available. This study aims to evaluate usefulness of automated immature granulocyte count (IG#) and immature granulocyte percentage (IG%) as early diagnostic markers of sepsis and compares it to other established predictive markers.

Decompensation of Cirrhosis: An Unusual Cause.

We describe a case of a 69-year-old woman, a known case of compensated Hepatitis C cirrhosis, presenting with recurrent urinary tract infection (UTI) secondary to . She had recently tested positive for bacteremia associated with UTI, managed with antibiotics. Two weeks later, she presented with fever and burning micturition with signs of abdominal distension and pedal edema suggestive of decompensation of cirrhosis.

Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt for Refractory Ascites in Gaucher Disease.

Gaucher disease is rare, inherited lysosomal storage disorder that leads to the excessive accumulation of certain lipids, especially within the bone marrow, liver, and spleen. We present a case of a 30-year-old man with Gaucher disease who underwent a splenectomy at the age of eight for severe cytopenia. His subsequent history was notable for recurrent avascular osteonecrosis and his liver disease progressed to portal hypertension, variceal bleeding, and refractory ascites.

Objectives: Wilson's disease (WD) is a chronic disease caused by altered copper metabolism requiring lifelong therapy. Its long-term and debilitating nature has the potential to affect the quality of life (Qol) of patients as well as their families. Our study aims to assess this impact of the disease on patients and their families.

Gallbladder Neuroendocrine Tumors: Is There a Need for a Specific Approach?

Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) of the gallbladder or the biliary tree are rare. Most of the current guidelines and protocols are derived from the experience of managing lung small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma or gastrointestinal NETs. Anal cancer is an uncommon malignancy, however, its incidence has been increasing worldwide, including among older adults. The care of older patients with anal cancer requires a multidisciplinary and comprehensive team approach to ensure improved outcomes and maintenance of quality of life, and the geriatric assessment should be a key component in the evaluation of every older patient with anal cancer. Despite older adults representing a large proportion of patients with anal cancer, they were underrepresented in trials that defined currently accepted standard therapies, including definitive chemoradiotherapy.
