The mesenchymal-epithelial transition factor (MET) Y1003 mutation, like MET ex14 skipping, is an oncogenic driver mutation that suppresses MET degradation. Herein, we report the case of a 63-year-old female patient with lung adenocarcinoma harboring the MET Y1003N mutation, who was treated with tepotinib, a selective type 1b MET tyrosine kinase inhibitor. To the best of our knowledge, no such cases have been reported.

Background/aim: The efficacy of cytotoxic chemo-therapy has been reported to improve after immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) administration. We previously conducted a multicenter prospective clinical study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-PTX) after ICI treatment. In that study, some patients showed a long-term response to nab-PTX, which is not usually observed with single-agent chemotherapy.

Background/objectives: Lipid metabolism and adiponectin modulate erythropoiesis in vitro and in general population studies and may also affect responsiveness to erythropoietin in patients undergoing haemodialysis (HD). However, little is known about the impact of lipid-associated biomarkers on reticulocyte production and erythropoietin resistance index (ERI) in patients undergoing HD. Therefore, we aimed to investigate their impacts in 167 stable patients undergoing HD.

Purpose: Ramucirumab (RAM) is recommended as premedication with H-receptor antagonists (HRA) to prevent infusion-related reactions (IRRs). However, RAM is a human antibody with a low incidence of IRRs. We evaluated the noninferiority of non-HRA (dexamethasone [DEX] alone) premedication to HRA (plus DEX) premedication in terms of IRRs in patients with gastric cancer receiving RAM plus nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-PTX).

Background: To determine the precise frequency of main pancreatic duct (MPD) dilatation within the remnant pancreas at 1 year after pancreatoduodenectomy (PD) and its clinical implications, a prospective multicenter cohort study was performed in patients without MPD dilatation before PD (registry number: UMIN000029662).
Study Design: Between October 2017 and July 2020, patients with an MPD diameter less than 3 mm who were planned to undergo PD for periampullary lesions at 21 hospitals were enrolled. The primary endpoints were frequency of MPD dilatation at 1 year after PD, and the relationship between MPD dilatation and pancreatic endo- and exocrine function, nutritional status, and fatty liver.

Introduction: Recent studies have suggested enhanced therapeutic effects of subsequent chemotherapy after immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) treatment, highlighting the importance of subsequent treatment selection. Nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-PTX) is commonly used in subsequent chemotherapies; however, its efficacy as a subsequent treatment after ICI treatment has not been reported.
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated the efficacy and safety of nab-PTX using two prospective studies that we previously reported.

Endovascular treatment of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage during pregnancy involves a risk of intraoperative radiation exposure to the fetus. The transradial approach does not require fluoroscopy of the maternal abdominopelvic region, which reduces fetal radiation exposure. We report a case of a female at 21 gestation weeks who developed subarachnoid hemorrhage due to a ruptured right posterior communicating artery aneurysm.

Objective: To comprehensively evaluate diagnostic algorithms for myocardial infarction using a high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI) assay.
Patients And Methods: We prospectively enrolled patients with suspected myocardial infarction without ST-segment elevation from nine emergency departments in Japan. The diagnostic algorithms evaluated: (i) based on hs-cTnI alone, such as the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) 0/1-h or 0/2-h and High-STEACS pathways; or (ii) used medical history and physical findings, such as the ADAPT, EDACS, HEART, and GRACE pathways.

Background: Light and heavy chain deposition disease (LHCDD) is a rare condition characterised by the deposition of immunoglobulin components in the kidneys. Similarly, Amyloidosis is also caused by the deposition of light chain and/or heavy chain components of immunoglobulins which are folded into amyloid fibrils characterised by Congophilic deposits that exhibit apple-green birefringence under polarised light. Only a handful of reports describing LHCDD with amyloid fibril deposition have been previously published, however, none have characterized the composition of the deposited immunoglobulin components via mass spectrometry.

Background: Although transbronchial diagnostic procedures are sometimes difficult to perform because of the patient's respiratory or general conditions, endoscopic ultrasound with bronchoscope-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-B-FNA), a known transesophageal diagnostic procedure, might be useful for such cases. We conducted this prospective three-center observational study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of EUS-B-FNA in suspected lung cancer patients with poor respiratory or general conditions.
Methods: Patients with suspected lung cancer with respiratory failure, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status of 2 or higher, or severe respiratory symptoms, were enrolled.

Background: Whether immunotherapy improves the efficacy or worsens adverse events of subsequent chemotherapy remains unclear. We performed a Phase 2 study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-paclitaxel) as a treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after treatment with programmed cell death 1 or programmed death ligand 1 [PD-(L)1] inhibitor failure.
Methods: Nab-paclitaxel (100 mg/m ) was administered on Days 1, 8, and 15 of a 28-day cycle to patients with advanced NSCLC within 12 weeks after the failure of PD-(L)1 inhibitor treatment.
