: The six-minute walk test (6MWT) is a useful measure to evaluate exercise capacity with a simple method. The kinetics of oxygen uptake ([Formula: see text]O) throughout constant-load exercise on cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPX) are composed of three phases and the [Formula: see text]O kinetics are delayed in patients with heart failure (HF). This study aimed to investigate the kinetics of the cardiorespiratory response during and after the 6MWT according to exercise capacity.

Sarcopenia is an important predictor of adverse outcomes in elderly people. Based on a common clinical experience, sarcopenia may be associated with activities of daily living (ADL). To our knowledge, no study has investigated the association between sarcopenia and ADL in nursing home residents requiring long-term care.

Background: In this study, we examined the effectiveness of RV1 and RV5 vaccines during an outbreak of G8P[8] rotavirus group A strain (G8P[8]-RVA). These vaccines were originally designed to provide protection against severe diseases caused by common circulating strains, whereas G8P[8]-RVA remains emerging strain and partially heterotypic to the vaccines. It is imperative to investigate vaccine effectiveness (VE) against G8P[8]-RVA because this strain appears to be predominant in recent years, particularly, in post-vaccine era.

However, few studies have compared social interaction in the past and the present or investigated its predictive factors. This study aimed to clarify the transitional changes in social interaction over 20 years and explore the factors related to social interaction focusing on the use of community resources.

The aim of this study was to explore the relationship of coexisting severe frailty and malnutrition with all-cause mortality among the oldest old in nursing homes. This study was conducted among all subjects (n=160) aged 85 years and older who lived in two nursing homes of Japan. Information about the health status of participants was gathered from history, medical documentation, test assessing frailty, according to the Canadian Study of Health and Aging-Clinical Frailty Scale (CSHA-CFS) and the Mini Nutritional Assessment Short Form (MNA-SF).
