Introduction: Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a genetic disorder caused by mutations in the dystrophin-encoding gene that leads to muscle necrosis and degeneration with chronic inflammation during growth, resulting in progressive generalized weakness of the skeletal and cardiac muscles. We previously demonstrated the therapeutic effects of systemic administration of dental pulp mesenchymal stromal cells (DPSCs) in a DMD animal model. We showed preservation of long-term muscle function and slowing of disease progression.

To investigate the effectiveness of Er:YAG laser-activated irrigation (LAI) with a short pulse duration for removing calcium hydroxide (CH) from simulated internal root resorption (IRR) cavities at three root levels. Pulse duration is an important parameter during LAI, which ensures the efficiency of irradiation and the corresponding activation process. Short pulses in the range of a few microseconds enable rapid expansion and successive implosion of irrigants, resulting in distinct fluid movement.

Investigating the structure-property correlation in porous materials is a fundamental and consistent focus in various scientific domains, especially within sorption research. Metal oxide clusters with capping ligands, characterized by intrinsic cavities formed through specific solid-state packing, demonstrate significant potential as versatile platforms for sorption investigations due to their precisely tunable atomic structures and inherent long-range order. This study presents a series of TiCe-oxo clusters with subtle variations in coordinated linkers and explores their sorption behavior.

We aimed to evaluate the materials based on 4-methacryloxyethyl trimellitate anhydride/methyl methacrylate tri-n-butylborane (Super-bond [SB]) and nano hydroxyapatite (naHAp) for the repair of perforation at pulp chamber floor (PPF) in vitro and in vivo models. SB and naHAp were mixed in the mass ratio of 10% or 30% to produce naHAp/SB. Human periodontal ligament stem cells (HPDLSCs) were cultured on resin discs of SB or naHAp/SB to analyze the effects of naHAp/SB on cell adhesion, proliferation, and cementoblastic differentiation.

Many procedures are available for the coverage of thumb pulp defects; however, to gain thumb function and esthetics, a similar tissue is desirable. If the length of the longitudinal defect is <2 cm, a volar advancement flap is appropriate; however, if the flap is >2 cm long or wider, retrograde or free flaps are required. Here, we present a case of thumb pulp reconstruction using an extended ulnar parametacarpal perforator (UPM) flap, which achieved excellent functional and esthetic outcomes.

Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) are in vitro-derived cells capable of giving rise to several different cell types. The generation of iPSCs holds great promise for regenerative medicine and drug discovery research because it allows mature cells to be reprogrammed into a state of pluripotency. These highly versatile cells can then be induced to produce a variety of cell lineages and tissues by activating specific regulatory genes that drive their differentiation along distinct lineages.
