The synthesis of Janus-type layers, which possess front and back sides that consist of different structures, remains a major challenge in the field of two-dimensional materials. In this study, two Janus-type layered coordination polymers, namely, Cu(NEtH)(NMeH·HO)Cu(CN) () and Cu(NMeH)(NMeH·HO)Cu(CN) (), were synthesized via a simple one-pot procedure using copper(II) nitrate and sodium cyanido in mixed solutions of dimethylamine and ethylamine. Uniquely, and were composed of cyanido-bridged neutral layers and exhibited a CuCu mixed-valent state.

Polygenic risk scores (PRSs) developed from multi-ancestry genome-wide association studies (GWASs), PRS, hold promise for improving PRS accuracy and generalizability across populations. To establish best practices for leveraging the increasing diversity of genomic studies, we investigated how various factors affect the performance of PRS compared with PRSs constructed from single-ancestry GWASs (PRS). Through extensive simulations and empirical analyses, we showed that PRS overall outperformed PRS in understudied populations, except when the understudied population represented a small proportion of the multi-ancestry GWAS.

Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPSs) make up a group of lysosomal storage diseases characterized by the aberrant accumulation of glycosaminoglycans throughout the body. Patients with MPSs display various signs and symptoms, such as retinopathy, which is also observed in patients with MPS II. Unfortunately, retinal disorders in MPS II are resistant to conventional intravenous enzyme-replacement therapy because the blood-retinal barrier (BRB) impedes drug penetration.

Tricyanidonitridorhenium(V) complexes with azolylpyridines, namely, [ReN(CN)(H-N2py)] (, H-N2py = 2-(3-pyrazolyl)pyridine) and [ReN(CN)(L)] (, L = 2-[1,2,3]-triazol-4-yl-pyridine anion (N3py), and , that is, L = 2-(tetrazol-5-yl)-pyridine anion (N4py)), were newly synthesized and characterized. The structures of the new complexes were determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis. The complex includes two geometrical isomers in which an isomer is the conformation with the pyridyl (py) and pyrazolyl (pyrz) moieties of H-N2py occupying the site to the nitrido (the ax site) and the site to the cyanido (the eq site), respectively, in a bidentate fashion; the other isomer is the py and pyrz moieties coordinated to the eq and ax sites.

The omnipresence of charge density waves (CDWs) across almost all cuprate families underpins a common organizing principle. However, a longstanding debate of whether its spatial symmetry is stripe or checkerboard remains unresolved. While CDWs in lanthanum- and yttrium-based cuprates possess a stripe symmetry, distinguishing these two scenarios is challenging for the short-range CDW in bismuth-based cuprates.

Introduction: The clinical significance and prognostic value of T cell involvement and programmed cell death-1 (PD-1)/programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-L1) have not been established in lymphocytic fulminant myocarditis (FM). We investigated the prognostic impact of the number of CD4+, CD8+, FoxP3+, and PD-1+ T cells, as well as PD-L1 expression, in cardiomyocytes in lymphocytic FM.
Methods: This is a single-center observational cohort study.

Regional anatomical structures of the brain are intimately connected to functions corresponding to specific regions and the temporospatial pattern of genetic expression and their functions from the fetal period to old age. Therefore, quantitative brain morphometry has often been employed in neuroscience investigations, while controlling for the scanner effect of the scanner is a critical issue for ensuring accuracy in brain morphometric studies of rare orphan diseases due to the lack of normal reference values available for multicenter studies. This study aimed to provide across-site normal reference values of global and regional brain volumes for each sex and age group in children and adolescents.

Naturally occurring heavy chain antibodies (HCAbs) in Camelidae species were a surprise discovery in 1993 by Hamers et al. Since that time, antibody fragments derived from HCAbs have garnered considerable attention by researchers and biotechnology companies. Due to their biophysico-chemical advantages over conventional antibody fragments, camelid single-domain antibodies (sdAbs, VHs, nanobodies) are being increasingly utilized as viable immunotherapeutic modalities.

Neptune-sized planets exhibit a wide range of compositions and densities, depending on factors related to their formation and evolution history, such as the distance from their host stars and atmospheric escape processes. They can vary from relatively low-density planets with thick hydrogen-helium atmospheres to higher-density planets with a substantial amount of water or a rocky interior with a thinner atmosphere, such as HD 95338 b (ref. ), TOI-849 b (ref.

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common pediatric soft tissue sarcoma. Despite decades of clinical trials, the overall survival rate for patients with relapsed and metastatic disease remains below 30%, underscoring the need for novel treatments. FGFR4, a receptor tyrosine kinase that is overexpressed in RMS and mutationally activated in 10% of cases, is a promising target for treatment.

Background: In CheckMate 227 Part 1 (NCT02477826), first-line nivolumab plus ipilimumab demonstrated long-term durable overall survival (OS) benefit versus chemotherapy in patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), regardless of tumor programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression. We report results in Japanese patients with ≥ 5-year follow-up.
Methods: Adults with stage IV/recurrent NSCLC without EGFR/ALK aberrations were randomized 1:1:1 to nivolumab plus ipilimumab, nivolumab alone, or chemotherapy (patients with tumor PD-L1 ≥ 1%), or nivolumab plus ipilimumab, nivolumab plus chemotherapy, or chemotherapy (patients with tumor PD-L1 < 1%).

Automated home-cage monitoring systems present a valuable tool for comprehensive phenotyping of natural behaviors. However, current systems often involve complex training routines, water or food restriction, and probe a limited range of behaviors. Here, we present a fully automated home-cage monitoring system for cognitive and behavioral phenotyping in mice.

The emergence of large-scale replication projects yielding successful rates substantially lower than expected caused the behavioural, cognitive, and social sciences to experience a so-called 'replication crisis'. In this Perspective, we reframe this 'crisis' through the lens of a credibility revolution, focusing on positive structural, procedural and community-driven changes. Second, we outline a path to expand ongoing advances and improvements.

The quantum vortex liquid (QVL) is an intriguing state of type-II superconductors in which intense quantum fluctuations of the superconducting (SC) order parameter destroy the Abrikosov lattice even at very low temperatures. Such a state has only rarely been observed, however, and remains poorly understood. One of the key questions is the precise origin of such intense quantum fluctuations and the role of nearby non-SC phases or quantum critical points in amplifying these effects.

Daily dietary habits directly or indirectly influence the intestinal microbiota, and the resulting changes in its composition and metabolic activity alter the health conditions of the host. Although many studies have analyzed the association between individual nutrients/food items and intestinal microbiota, the assessment of the diet and intestinal microbiota from a macroscopic perspective has not yet been performed in Japan. Therefore, we focused on vegetables and fruits and aimed to identify dietary patterns of high intake of these foods and to examine their relationship with the intestinal microbiota.
