To evaluate the correlation between anatomical details of the transected neck of the pancreas and post-operative pancreatic fistula (POPF) following Whipple's pancreaticoduodenectomy. Mesh migration into stomach following diaphragmatic hernia repair: a rare complication.

Mesh erosion and migration are considered the gravest of complications of mesh repairs. To the best of our knowledge, mesh erosion and migration into the stomach following a mesh repair of adult diaphragmatic hernia has yet to be reported in the literature. A case of mesh eroding into the stomach, after a prosthetic repair of an adult diaphragmatic hernia, is presented here because of its rarity.

A left-sided cystic pancreatic incidentaloma with sigmoid colon adenocarcinoma: a case report.

Background: The synchronous colorectal malignancy is well described in the literature but combination of pancreatic incidentaloma with sigmoid cancer has not been well described and the association has not been described in syndrome.

Case Presentation: A 65-year-old man from the Indian subcontinent with a history of abdominal pain with loss of appetite, and with a history of bleeding per rectum and altered bowel habits presented to our hospital. An abdominal examination revealed a palpable mass in the region of his epigastrium and left hypochondrium, and a rectal examination was normal.

Pregnancy with Pemphigoid Gestationis: A Rare Entity.

Pemphigoid Gestationis (PG) is a rare autoimmune blistering disease with an incidence of 1/50000 pregnancies. Presentation in the second or third trimester is most common and tends to recur in subsequent pregnancies with earlier onset and a more severe course. Direct Immunofluorescence (DIF) staining is confirmatory on skin biopsy specimen.

Marchiafawa bignami disease possibly related to consumption of a locally brewed alcoholic beverage: Report of two cases.

Marchiafava Bignami disease is a rare toxic disease seen mostly in chronic alcoholics, resulting in progressive demyelination and necrosis of the corpus callosum. Initially it was thought to be specific to individuals in central Italy, consuming large amounts of Chianti red wine; however, alcoholic beverages worldwide are presently implicated. In our case series of two cases, locally made "illicit" liquor (Mahuwa Alcohol) could be the causative factor.

Cutaneous metastasis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

Cutaneous metastasis from internal malignancies are common in breast cancer, pulmonary malignancies and melanomas. The primary site of metastases has been reported to the chest and abdomen. We are hereby reporting rare case of cutaneous metastasis in esophageal cancer.

Generalized pigmentation due to Addison disease.

A 10-year-old boy presented with generalized hyperpigmentation, abdominal pain, change in behavior and, no weight gain for 2 years. On examination, he had hypotension and generalized hyperpigmentation that was more marked on gingival mucosa and frictional sites. Serum cortisol was markedly decreased and his CT scan abdomen showed adrenal atrophy.

Longitudinal leukonychia in Hailey-Hailey Disease: a sign not to be missed.

A 54-year-old male presented with a painful, erythematous, fissured plaque involving the left groin and adjacent scrotal skin. In addition, he exhibited white longitudinal bands and ridges on his fingernails, more prominent on thumb nails. Skin biopsy from the left groin confirmed the diagnosis of chronic familial benign pemphigus (Hailey-Hailey disease).

Jejunal GIST with extramural hemangiomatous component presenting as an obscure lower GI bleed: a case report.

GISTS (Gastrointestinal stromal tumours) are malignant form of sarcoma of the digestive tract. Various unusual presentations and morphological variants of GIST have been described, including extramural components of GIST. The literature has no reference regarding an extramural hemangiomatous component of a GIST.

Threading warts: a beauty parlor dermatosis.

Threading is a common beauty parlor procedure usually performed to shape the eyebrows and remove unwanted facial hair for cosmetic reasons. Appearance of warts at the site of threading is an unusual phenomenon. We report two such cases, first as koebnerization from the initial lesion elsewhere on the patient's body and second, possibly from the infected material at the beauty parlor.

Disseminated histoplasmosis mimicking laryngeal carcinoma from central India--a case report.

A 58 year old male, chronic smoker, with diabetes mellitus (Type II), residing in Madhya Pradesh presented with dysphagia, hoarseness, odynophagia and significant weight loss. Microlaryngoscopy showed reddish ulcerated area involving valleculae, and pharyngo-epiglottic fold. Histopathological examination showed foamy macrophages containing Histoplasma capsulatum.

Insulinoma.

A case of insulinoma who had episoic bizarre behaviour is presented here. Pre-operative fasting and two hour post-prandial blood sugar values indicated hypoglycemia with inappropriately high insulin levels. USG and CT scan of the abdomen revealed a tumor of head of the pancreas.

Protective action of saliva in peptic ulceration. Studies on the effect of saliva on gastric secretion with dye-dilution technique.

The effect of saliva on gastric secretion was studied in 41 adult men by the method of serial test meals. The essence of the experiments was to exclude the saliva from the stomach in one set of observations and allow its admixture with food in the other. The results showed that the gastric acidity was significantly reduced by the ingestion of saliva both in the case of fluid as well as solid meals.
