Heparan sulfate (HS) is a non-immunogenic antigen, and developing antibodies against specific sulfated patterns in HS poses significant challenges. Previous in vitro studies in our laboratory demonstrated that ethyl acetate (P) and water- soluble (PS/PT1) fractionated leaf extracts of inhibit the proliferation of prostate cancer cells. It has been reported that the crude aqueous extract induces apoptosis in lung adenocarcinoma cells; however, the efficacy of the fractionated extracts against these cells remains unclear. In the present study, we hypothesized that the ability of the fractionated extracts to inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis is associated with the activation of pro-apoptotic proteins and induction of DNA condensation in A549 cells.

Geometric distortions in brain MRI images arising from susceptibility artifacts at air-tissue interfaces pose a significant challenge for high-precision radiation therapy modalities like stereotactic radiosurgery, necessitating sub-millimeter accuracy. To achieve this goal, we developed AutoCorNN, an unsupervised physics-aware deep-learning model for correcting geometric distortions. We focus on study participants' perceptions of their cities, explanations of violence, and their perceived contribution to the level of violence. Respondents describe their cities in grim terms with few opportunities.

The study utilizes three types of sand (Ottawa, masonry, and concrete) coated with graphene to assess the impact of surface morphology, particle shape, and chemical composition on coating and filtration efficiency. Additionally, sand coated with graphene and activated graphene coated sand were both tested to understand the effect of coating and activation on the filtration process.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: To analyze how social and structural determinants of health and social injustice impact the risk of obesity, its treatment and treatment outcomes, and to explore the implications for prevention and future treatment interventions. RECENT FINDINGS: Racial and ethnic minorities, such as non-Hispanic Black adults and Hispanic adults, and adults with a low socioeconomic status have a greater risk of obesity than non-Hispanic white adults and adults with a high socioeconomic status. The underlying causes of obesity disparities include obesogenic neighborhood environments, inequities in access to obesity treatment, and lack of access to affordable nutrient-dense foods.
