Algorithms of the simulation of the anticancer activity of nanoparticles under different experimental conditions toward cell lines A549 (lung cancer), THP-1 (leukemia), MCF-7 (breast cancer), Caco2 (cervical cancer), and hepG2 (hepatoma) have been developed using the quasi-SMILES approach. The neighborhood environment may be an important determinant of racial/ethnic disparities in cognitive function. To understand how neighborhoods are linked to cognition across racial/ethnic groups, this scoping review organizes research investigating relationships between multiple neighborhood domains and cognitive function in diverse samples of US midlife and older adults. PubMed/MEDLINE, Web of Science, and CAHL were used to extract quantitative disparities-focused studies ( = 17) that included US adults ages 50+, racial/ethnic minoritized populations, cognitive dependent variable(s), and neighborhood-level independent variable(s) published from January 2010 to October 2021.

We investigate the fundamental optical properties of single zinc-blende InP/ZnSe/ZnS nanocrystals (NCs) using frequency- and time-resolved magneto-photoluminescence spectroscopy. At liquid helium temperature, highly resolved spectral fingerprints are obtained and identified as the recombination lines of the three lowest states of the band-edge exciton fine structure. The evolutions of the photoluminescence spectra and decays under magnetic fields show evidence for a ground dark exciton level 0 with zero angular momentum projection along the NC main elongation axis.

Purpose: To investigate the impact of MRI patient-specific geometrical distortion (PSD) on the quality of Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery (GK-SRS) plans of the vestibular schwannoma (VS) tumors.

Methods And Materials: Three open access datasets including the MPI-Leipzig Mind-Brain-Body (318 patients), the slow event-related fMRI designs dataset (62 patients), and the VS dataset (242 patients) were used. We used first two datasets to train a 3D convolution network to predict the distortion map of third dataset that were then used to calculate and correct the PSD.

The current study investigated the psychometric properties of the Haitian Creole version of the Brief Religious Coping Scale (Brief RCOPE). A total of 256 adult survivors of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti completed the Brief RCOPE and measures of posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms, resilience, general coping, and posttraumatic growth. Structurally well-defined polymer-grafted nanoparticle hybrids are highly sought after for a variety of applications, such as antifouling, mechanical reinforcement, separations, and sensing. Herein, we report the synthesis of poly(methyl methacrylate) grafted- and poly(styrene) grafted-BaTiO nanoparticles using activator regeneration via electron transfer (ARGET ATRP) with a sacrificial initiator, atom transfer radical polymerization (normal ATRP), and ATRP with sacrificial initiator, to understand the role of the polymerization procedure in influencing the structure of nanoparticle hybrids. To combat mischievous coronavirus disease followed by continuous upgrading of therapeutic strategy against the antibody-resistant variants, the molecular mechanistic understanding of protein-drug interactions is a prerequisite in the context of target-specific rational drug development. Herein, we attempt to decipher the structural basis for the inhibition of SARS-CoV-2 main protease (M) through the elemental analysis of potential energy landscape and the associated thermodynamic and kinetic properties of the enzyme-inhibitor complexes using automated molecular docking calculations in conjunction with classical force field-based molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The crux of the scalable all-atom MD simulations consummated in explicit solvent media is to capture the structural plasticity of the viral enzyme due to the binding of remdesivir analogues and ascertain the subtle interplay of noncovalent interactions in stabilizing specific conformational states of the receptor that controls the biomolecular processes related to the ligand binding and dissociation kinetics.

Community engagement is important for reaching populations at risk for health inequities in the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. A community-engaged risk communication intervention implemented by a community-engaged research partnership in Southeast Minnesota to address COVID-19 prevention, testing, and socioeconomic impacts has demonstrated high acceptability, feasibility, perceived efficacy, and sustainability. In this study, we describe the adaptation of the intervention by a community-academic partnership with rural African American populations in three Mississippi counties with high COVID-19 disparities.

The additive engineering strategy promotes the efficiency of solution-processed perovskite solar cells (PSCs) over 25%. However, compositional heterogeneity and structural disorders occur in perovskite films with the addition of specific additives, making it imperative to understand the detrimental impact of additives on film quality and device performance.
