The 2018 economic crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic crisis were included in the study as the crisis periods. We collected the financial data of the publicly held healthcare companies and calculated three liquidity, three turnover, three leverage and three profitability ratios through ratio analysis to use as financial performance indicators.

Bloodstain detection can provide crucial information and evidence at a crime scene; however, the ability to selectively detect bloodstains in a non-destructive manner with high sensitivity and low background is limited. This study reports a fluorescent dye (sulfonate indolizine squaraine, SOSQ) for bloodstain visualization under near-infrared (NIR) irradiation. While the dye itself is minimally fluorescent in aqueous solution, it exhibits a "turn-on" mechanism upon binding with human serum albumin (HSA) as the fluorescence intensity increases over 160 times with strong absorption and emission at 693 nm and 758 nm, respectively.

LiFePO (LFP) nanoparticles have been successfully coated with carbon by a chemical sol-gel route, and assembled on graphite by an ultrasonication method to acquire LFP/C/graphite. Selective Near-Infrared Blood Detection Driven by Ionic Liquid-Dye-Albumin Nanointeractions.

Due to its abundance in blood, a great deal of research has been undertaken to develop efficient biosensors for serum albumin and provide insight into the interactions that take place between these biosensing molecules and the protein. Near-infrared (NIR, >700 nm) organic dyes have been shown to be effective biosensors of serum albumin, but their effectiveness is diminished in whole blood. Herein, it is shown that an NIR sulfonate indolizine-donor-based squaraine dye, SOSQ, can be strengthened as a biosensor of albumin through the addition of biocompatible ionic liquids (ILs).

In this work we use complex Lagrangian technique to obtain Noether-like operators and the associated conserved quantities of an Euler-Lagrange (EL) system. We show that the three new conserved quantities namely, Noether conserved quantity, Lie conserved quantity and Mei conserved quantity reported by Fang et al. [1] for an EL-system and even more in numbers by Nucci [2] can also be obtained via complex variational formalism.

As fluorescence bioimaging has increased in popularity, there have been numerous reports on designing organic fluorophores with desirable properties amenable to perform this task, specifically fluorophores with emission in the near-infrared II (NIR-II) region. One such strategy is to utilize the donor-π-acceptor-π-donor approach (D-π-A-π-D), as this allows for control of the photophysical properties of the resulting fluorophores through modulation of the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy levels. Herein, we illustrate the properties of thienothiadiazole (TTD) as an effective acceptor moiety in the design of NIR emissive fluorophores.

This study examines the association between cyberbullying victimization and academic satisfaction through flourishing (psychological well-being) among 188 LGBTQ college students utilizing the lens of general strain theory and positive psychology. Results indicate that flourishing as a mediator explains the association between cyberbullying victimization and academic satisfaction among LGBTQ college students. For these students, flourishing can serve as a protective factor for their academic satisfaction.

Context: To apply the quantitative relationships "structure-endpoint" approach, the reliability of prediction is necessary but sometimes challenging to achieve. In this work, an attempt is made to accomplish the reliability of forecasts by creating a set of random partitions of data into training and validation sets, followed by constructing random models. A system of random models for a helpful approach should be self-consistent, giving a similar or at least comparable statistical quality of the predictions for models obtained using different splits of available data into training and validation sets.

The formose reaction is a plausible prebiotic chemistry, famed for its production of sugars. In this work, we demonstrate that the Cannizzaro process is the dominant process in the formose reaction under many different conditions, thus necessitating a catalyst for the formose reaction under various environmental circumstances. The investigated formose reactions produce primarily organic acids associated with metabolism, a protometabolic system, and yield very little sugar left over.
