Importance: Reports on dermatomyositis (DM) sine dermatitis (DMSD) are scarce, and the concept of the disease has not been widely accepted.
Objective: To confirm the existence of DMSD, determine its prevalence, and characterize its serologic features.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This is a cohort study that reviewed clinical information, laboratory data, and muscle pathology slides from January 2009 to August 2019.

A woman in her 70s developed deep vein thromboembolism(DVT)and pulmonary embolism(PE)during chemotherapy for advanced transverse colon cancer. After the first treatment with heparin and warfarin, the anticoagulant was changed to edoxaban to reduce the risk of bleeding. She continued receiving chemotherapy for 4 years.

Here, we report a rare case of delayed mesh infection developed 10 years after abdominal incisional hernia repair, which was successfully treated by mesh removal and reconstruction with posterior components separation technique.
Case Presentation: A 66-year-old man, who underwent reconstruction of abdominal incisional hernia by retroperitoneal Composix mesh application 10 years prior, developed 12 × 6.

Objective Interferon-free regimens of direct-acting antiviral agents have improved the treatment response for chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, and improvement in the serum albumin level during interferon-free therapy has been reported. The aim of this study was to identify the factors that influence the improvement in the serum albumin level in patients receiving interferon-free antiviral therapy. Methods This retrospective, multicenter study consisted of 471 Japanese patients with chronic hepatitis and compensated liver cirrhosis infected with HCV who completed 12-week interferon-free sofosbuvir (SOF)-based therapy [SOF plus ledipasvir for genotype 1 (n=276) and SOF with ribavirin for genotype 2 (n=195)].

We present the case of a 56-year-old man with an upper respiratory infection followed by fatigue, hypotension, and hyponatremia. Bilateral adrenal hemorrhage was confirmed, based on T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging. The patient had previously undergone allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and had been diagnosed with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) during the development of chronic graft-versus-host disease.

Perivascular epithelial cell tumors (PEComas), firstly described by Bonetti in 1992, are a family of mesenchymal tumor composed of perivascular epithelioid cells having epithelioid or spindle morphology and exhibiting melanocytic and myogenic immunoreactivities. We herein described a 61-year-old woman who presented with epigastric pain. Preoperative imaging studies showed that 7-cm-sized mass was located in pancreatic head and body, and pancreaticoduodenectomy was performed.

Secondary non-Hodgkin lymphoma following acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is extremely rare. We here describe a unique case involving a patient who developed Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) during complete remission (CR) of AML. A 75-year-old Japanese man was initially diagnosed with AML with maturation (FAB M2), bearing chromosomal translocation t(3,4)(p25;q21).

A 72-year-old woman having abdominal pain and high fever was diagnosed with KRAS wild-type sigmoid colon cancer, invading the urinary bladder and uterus with a pelvic abscess. Considering the difficulty of curative resection, we first performed sigmoid colostomy and abscess drainage. Remarkable tumor regression was indicated by CT and colonoscopy after 1 course of FOLFIRI and 5 courses of FOLFIRI+panitumumab.

Step and shoot with ECG gated non-helical scan (snap shot pulse: SSP) could reduce exposure dose but banding artifact-like discontinuity was observed between adjacent slabs on volume rendering (VR) and curved planner reconstruction (CPR). Therefore, we investigated the factors that influence continuity of VR and CPR images by calculating image properties of Z-axis direction of slab.

Background: Experimental autoimmune orchitis (EAO) has been studied as an animal model for human immunological male infertility. We have already reported the induction of contralateral EAO ("sympathetic orchitis") by unilateral testicular injury in mice. In this paper, we report the induction of autoimmune infertility in such mice as well as EAO.

Purpose: Since the delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) response to testis antigens plays a key role in the induction and/or maintenance of experimental autoimmune orchitis (EAO), an animal model for human immunological male infertility or aspermatogenesis, we have investigated the immunosuppressive effect of cyclosporin A (CsA) on the DTH response to autologous testicular cells (TC).
Materials And Methods: A DTH response to autologous TC was induced in C3H/HeN mice by bilateral testicular injury (trauma). CsA was administered intraperitoneally for 10 consecutive days before and after injury.

Background: Experimental autoimmune orchitis (EAO) has been studied as an animal model for human male immunological infertility. Most EAO models have been induced by immunization with testis antigens in artificial adjuvants. In this paper, we report a more clinical EAO model.
