Prostate cancer antigen 3 (PCA3) has emerged as a critical biomarker for the early detection of prostate cancer, complementing the traditional prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing. This research presents a novel resistive sensor based on reduced graphene oxide (RGO) functionalized with glutaraldehyde (GA)/complementary single-stranded DNA (ss-DNA) for the detection of the PCA3 RNA. The device was meticulously characterized at each fabrication step to confirm the successful integration of the various layers on the sensor device, utilizing atomic force microscopy (AFM) which confirmed the increase in the thickness of the sensor from ∼1.

Aim: Bethesda System for reporting thyroid cytopathology established in 2009 was updated for the first time in 2017. Since its introduction very few studies have been done on the utility of recently introduced "The 2017 Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology" (TBSRTC II) and estimation of risk of malignancy in various categories.
Material And Methods: This was a prospective study done on thyroid lesions in which lesions were evaluated cytologically and classified according to TBSRTC II.

In the era of free flaps, we propose a simple yet effective local flap, the digastric muscle flap, to reconstruct floor of the mouth defects and to repair an orocervical fistula that is created during excision of tongue and/or floor of the mouth malignancies. The digastric muscle flap was used in 15 patients who were diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue and/or floor of the mouth. Partial glossectomy was performed in 4 cases, hemiglossectomy in 4 cases, and wide local excision in 7 cases.

Aluminium, a ubiquitous environmental toxicant, is distinguished for eliciting a broad range of physiological, biochemical, and behavioural alterations in laboratory animals and humans. The present work was conducted to study the functional and structural changes induced by aluminium in rat liver. Twenty five adult male Wistar rats (150-200 g) were randomly divided into five groups; control group and four Al-treated groups viz: Al 1 (25 mg AlCl/kg b.

Introduction: Prostate cancer is the second most common malignancy in men worldwide. Genomic VPAC receptors are expressed on malignant prostate cancer cells and can be targeted and imaged optically by a peptide labeled fluorophore. The objective of our study was to assess the feasibility of detecting cancer of the prostate using a voided urine sample.

Background: Data regarding effects of small-quantity-lipid-based nutrient supplements (SQ-LNS) on maternal serum zinc concentrations (SZC) in pregnancy and lactation are limited.
Objectives: The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effect of preconception compared with prenatal zinc supplementation (compared with control) on maternal SZC and hypozincemia during pregnancy and early lactation in women in low-resource settings, and assess associations with birth anthropometry.
Methods: From ∼100 women/arm at each of 3 sites (Guatemala, India, and Pakistan) of the Women First Preconception Maternal Nutrition trial, we compared SZC at 12- and 34-wk gestation (n = 651 and 838, respectively) and 3-mo postpartum (n = 742) in women randomly assigned to daily SQ-LNS containing 15 mg zinc from ≥3 mo before conception (preconception, arm 1), from ∼12 wk gestation through delivery (early pregnancy, arm 2) or not at all (control, arm 3).

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious infection characterized by severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-2). Safe and effective vaccines are game-changers in the global vision of marking an end to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, vaccine hesitancy due to perceived stigma and misinformation is a grave cause of concern.

Background: The "one drug-one target" paradigm has various limitations affecting drug efficacy, such as resistance profiles and adverse effects. Combinational therapies help reduce unexpected off-target effects and accelerate therapeutic efficacy. Sorafenib- an FDA-approved drug for liver cancer, has multiple limitations.

Comprehensive description and analysis of the post COVID sequelae in various population groups are critical to minimise the long-term morbidity and mortality associated with COVID-19. This analysis was conducted with an objective to estimate the frequency of post COVID sequelae and subsequently, design a framework for holistic management of post COVID morbidities.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) is considered the most prevalent nutritional deficiency worldwide, affecting approximately 30% of the global population. While gastrointestinal bleeding and menstruation in women are the primary causes of IDA, insufficient dietary iron intake and reduced iron absorption contribute to the condition. The aim of IDA treatment is to restore iron stores and normalise haemoglobin levels in affected patients.

The PURPOSe study was a prospective, observational study conducted in India and Pakistan to determine the cause of death for stillbirths and preterm neonatal deaths, using clinical data together with minimally invasive tissue sampling (MITS) and the histologic and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) evaluation of fetal/neonatal tissues and the placenta. After evaluating all available data, an independent panel chose a maternal, a placental and a fetal/neonatal cause of death. Here, we summarise the major results.

Introduction: Hypospadias is a common congenital anomaly of the urogenital system. The goal of the initial repair is to correct any curvature, ensuring that the penis is straight, allowing for successful intercourse, to create a functional neourethra to direct the urinary stream in a forward direction and to produce a cosmetically normal-appearing penis with a slit-like meatus at the tip of the glans. Failures and complications do occur.

Nearly 50% of patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer treated with cystectomy alone will progress to metastatic disease. Surgery alone is not a sufficient therapy in a large number of patients with invasive bladder cancer. Systemic therapy with cisplatin-based chemotherapy has been shown to provide response rates in several bladder cancer studies.

Patients with deformed external noses and deviated nasal septum also have lateral wall deformities compromising the osteomeatal complex leading on to sinusitis. These patients will need septorhinoplasty along with functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) to facilitate proper drainage of sinuses. The two main risks of combined procedure are firstly the risk of infection if done in infected sinusitis and secondly, the fear of collapse of nasal bone and the frontal process of the maxilla if medial and lateral osteotomies are done after extensive ethmoidectomy for extensive sinus disease.

Introduction: The most common reason for constructing an arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is chronic kidney disease. Various factors are associated with nonmaturation or failure of AVF, which can be evaluated using color Doppler/duplex ultrasound (DUS). We carried out this study to evaluate the role of pre- and postoperative DUS for the prediction of outcomes of wrist radiocephalic (RC) AVF.

Background: Over 250 million children under 5 years, globally, are at risk of developmental delay. Interventions during the first 2 years of life have enduring positive effects if children at risk are identified, using standardized assessments, within this window. However, identifying developmental delay during infancy is challenging and there are limited infant development assessments suitable for use in low- and middle-income (LMIC) settings.
