Triazine-linked triazole compounds (4a-j) were designed, synthesized, and then examined for their anticonvulsant abilities. Compounds 4e, 4f, 4g, 4i, and 4j displayed significant anticonvulsant activity in both maximum electroshock seizure (MES) and pentylenetetrazole (PTZ) induced seizure during the preliminary screening. The phase II anticonvulsant activity statistics revealed that compounds 4e, 4f, 4g, 4i, and 4j demonstrated excellent activity as compared to the conventional drugs methaqualone and valproate, supporting the potential of these triazine-linked triazole analogues as novel anticonvulsant agents.

Origin of cancer is strongly related to the unusual epigenetic regulation of gene function as indicated by recent reports. The covalent modifications to DNA or histones without affecting genomes that finally lead to phenotypical changes in cells or organisms are referred as "Epigenetics." The possibility to reprogram the epigenetics in the cancer epigenome is the most important target for cancer treatment and drug resistance.

The self-organized states of liquid crystals (LCs) have recently received a lot of attention because of their various applications, especially in the fields of electron transport materials and optoelectronic devices. In most of these applications, molecules containing a donor-acceptor skeleton have been widely employed and generally these molecular frameworks have been designed mainly on the basis of the donor-acceptor concept. Inspired from this concept, we synthesized a series of new donor-acceptor based luminescent molecules, 4,6-bis(4-alkyloxyphenyl)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile (Pn-series), carrying variable alkoxy chains [ = 8, 10, 12, 14, 16].

Globally 3 billion people are consuming water with moderately high concentrations of fluoride and arsenic. The development of a simple point of care (PoC) device or home device for the detection of fluoride/arsenic ensures safety before consuming water. Till date, lateral flow assay (LFA) based PoC devices can detect nucleic acids, viruses and diseases.

A simple pyridine-based compound, (2,4,6-(4-(hexyloxy)phenyl)pyridine), was synthesized and exhibited excellent solubility in various organic solvents owing to the presence of three 4--hexyloxy chains in its molecular structure. Further, we studied the effect of various solvents on its absorption and emission properties. We observed a greater extent of redshift in the chloroform solvent compared to the rest of the solvents.

The temperate oak tasar silkworm, Antheraea proylei, is frequently infested with Antheraea proylei nucleopolyhedrovirus (AnprNPV) causing tiger band disease. This disease is one of the key factors that obstructs production and productivity of oak tasar sericulture. The current study aimed to investigate the pathogenicity of AnprNPV, its mode of transmission, and detection of AnprNPV in different tissues.

Cube-shaped samarium orthovanadate (SmVO) nanoparticles were interconnected with a graphene oxide sheet (GOS) using a simple and eco-friendly method to generate a SmVO@GOS nanocomposite. SmVO was characterized using various spectroscopic and microscopic techniques, which confirmed the wrapping of GOS around the SmVO nanoparticles. SmVO@GOS was then used to modify a glassy carbon electrode (GCE), which was evaluated for its electrochemical performance toward the assay of sulfasalazine (SSZ), an antibiotic drug.

Reported herein is a reactivity of propargyl alcohols as "Three-Carbon Synthons" in a Rh(III)-catalyzed C-H functionalization of acetanilides, leading to the synthesis of core structures of isocryptolepine, γ-carbolines, dihydrochromeno[2,3-b]indoles, and diindolylmethanes (DIM) derivatives. The transformation involves a rhodium(III)-catalyzed C-H functionalization and heteroannulation to yield indoles followed by a cascade cyclization with both external and internal nucleophiles to afford diverse products. The role of the hydroxy group, the key function of the silver additive, the origin of the reverse regioselectivity and the rate-determining step, are rationalized in conformity with the combination of experimental, noncovalent interaction analysis and DFT studies.

The Internet of Things, sometimes known as IoT, is a relatively new kind of Internet connectivity that connects physical objects to the Internet in a way that was not possible in the past. The Internet of Things is another name for this concept (IoT). The Internet of Things has a larger attack surface as a result of its hyperconnectivity and heterogeneity, both of which are characteristics of the IoT.

Quercetin is an abundant plant polyphenol effective against several diseases due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. Herein, we report novel polymeric quercetin nanorods and the former decorated with gold nanoparticles for the first time. The prepared conjugates quercetin-polyvinylpyrrolidone (Q-PVP) and quercetin-polyvinylpyrrolidone-gold nanoparticles (Q-PVP-Au) were characterized by UV-visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared, dynamic light scattering, and zeta potential measurements.

The effect of Chamber-Spatial Response Function (CSRF) on beam profile measurements has been studied for Standard Ionization Chamber-Radiation Field Analyzer setup. The Chamber-Spatial Response Function is assumed to be Gaussian and parameterized through the projected geometry of the chamber along the measurement axis. CSRF widths was measured by constructing chamber diameter-FWHM correlation for a set of ionization chambers.

More than a half-century has passed since it was discovered that phytohormone cytokinin (CK) is essential to drive cytokinesis and proliferation in plant tissue culture. Thereafter, cytokinin has emerged as the primary regulator of the plant cell cycle and numerous developmental processes. Lately, a growing body of evidence suggests that cytokinin has a role in mitigating both abiotic and biotic stress.
