Background And Aim: Contemporary management of hydrocephalus involves various modes of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) diversion, including shunt surgery and endoscopic ventriculostomy. However, there are times when either of these procedures have either failed or are not feasible. Highly invasive procedures aimed at internal CSF have been described previously, which, with the aid of modern microsurgical techniques, can be attempted in cases with very limited options.

Introduction: Removal of a distal piece of a broken nail often possesses a technical challenge. Several methods have been described in the past to extract a distal piece by using specialized instruments like such as hooks, olive wires, and talwalkar radial square nail etc. It is difficult to extract a distal piece from a proximal incision site and often fracture or the nonunion site has to be opened.

Introduction: Scapholunate dissociation and ulnar impaction syndrome are common causes of wrist pain but often missed on initial clinical and radiological evaluation; hence, diagnosis is delayed. Management is challenging as there is diversity in surgical option. There is not a single case in literature described for both scapholunate dissociation and ulnar impaction syndrome treated in one setting.

Background: Cerebellopontine angle (CPA) epidermoids, although of benign nature, are of considerable neurosurgical interest because of their close proximity and adherence to the cranial nerves and brain stem. In this paper, we describe our experience and attempt to correlate the final outcomes with the extent of surgical removal. The main objectives were to study various modes of surgical management of CPA epidermoids with regard to removal and preservation of the cranial nerves and also to evaluate the role of endoscopic assisted microsurgical excision thereby minimizing recurrences.

Introduction: Fibrous Dysplasia is a relatively rare Musculoskeletal disorders in which there is a defect in remodelling of immature bone to mature lamellar bone. Fibrous Dysplasia was first described by Von Recklinghausen in 1891, but it was Lichtenstein who labelled it polyostotic Fibrous Dysplasia in 1938. Union of Pathological Fractures in a bone affected by Fibrous Dysplasia poses a difficult set of Challenges for treating Physicians.

Extension-block pinning is a popular surgical treatment method for mallet fractures but is associated with several pitfalls. Transfixation Kirschner wires used in the extension-block pinning technique may cause iatrogenic nail bed injury, bone fragment rotation, chondral damage, or osteoarthritis. The objective of this study was to determine the result of the delta wiring technique in mallet fractures with fracture fragment involving more than one-third of the distal phalanx articular surface.

Growing skull fracture (GSF), also known as leptomeningeal cyst, is a rare but significant complication of pediatric head injury. It is mainly seen in infancy and childhood. GSFs of the posterior fossa are uncommon, and intradiploic location in the posterior fossa is extremely rare.

Background: The most common methods of positioning patients for suboccipital approaches are the lateral, lateral oblique, sitting, semisitting, supine with the head turn, and park bench. The literature on the positioning of patients for these approaches does not mention the use of lateral semisitting position. This position allows utilization of the benefits of both semisitting and lateral position without causing any additional morbidity to the patient.

Background: Lesions of the pituitary gland and the juxtasellar region are quite frequently encountered in daily practise of a neurologist/neurosurgeon. While the differentials of sellar masses are quite large and form an extensive list and the management protocol varies in each case, the onus of properly categorizing and diagnosing the pituitary mass often falls on the reporting radiologist. We hereby present two such unusual masses in the sellar-suprasellar region which were masquerading as pituitary macro adenomas.

Congenital orbital teratoma is a rare condition which presents as marked proptosis of eyeball in a newborn. It is rapidly progressive with secondary damage to eyeball due to pressure effect. This case presented by us is of interest due to radiological features and rarity of this tumor extending into posterior fossa.

Sixty-one isolates of Candida albicans were tested for their phospholipase activity and this parameter was correlated with pathogenicity in albino mice. Of the isolates tested, 57 (93%) showed appreciable phospholipase activity and of these, 55 (90%) were pathogenic to mice. A significant correlation was found between phospholipase activity and involvement of kidneys in animal pathogenicity studies.

Response to bronchial challenge (BC) with purified protein derivative of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (PPD), was studied in children with bronchial asthma and correlated with Mantoux test and serum immunoglobulin E (IgE) against PPD (PPD-Sp IgE). Nearly 59% patients with bronchial asthma and 12.2% patients with pulmonary tuberculosis gave positive BC.
