Consensus Report on the Use of Continuous Glucose Monitoring in Chronic Kidney Disease and Diabetes.

This report represents the conclusions of 15 experts in nephrology and endocrinology, based on their knowledge of key studies and evidence in the field, on the role of continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) in patients with diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD), including those receiving dialysis. The experts discussed issues related to CGM accuracy, indications, education, clinical outcomes, quality of life, research gaps, and barriers to dissemination. Three main goals of management for patients with CKD and diabetes were identified: (1) greater use of CGMs for better glycemic monitoring and management, (2) further research evaluating the accuracy, feasibility, outcomes, and potential value of CGMs in patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) on hemodialysis, and (3) equitable access to CGM technology for patients with CKD.

Pulsed Field Ablation of Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia: A Prospective Multicenter Single-Arm Study in China.

Background: Pulsed field ablation (PFA) has gained attention in cardiac electrophysiology, but data on its application to paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia are limited. Interleukin-15 (IL-15) promotes the survival of T lymphocytes and enhances the antitumour properties of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells in preclinical models of solid neoplasms in which CAR T cells have limited efficacy. Glypican-3 (GPC3) is expressed in a group of solid cancers, and here we report the evaluation in humans of the effects of IL-15 co-expression on GPC3-expressing CAR T cells (hereafter GPC3 CAR T cells). Energetic Characteristics of Hydrophobic Porous Materials as Candidates for Manufacturing of Nanorockets.

Abdominal Compared With Coronary Artery Calcification and Incident Cardiovascular Events and Mortality in Black Adults.

Background: Black adults show heightened cardiovascular risk compared with other groups despite comparable or lower coronary artery calcium (CAC) scores, indicating potential cardiovascular risk underestimation by CAC. Abdominal aortic calcification (AAC), preceding CAC, may predict cardiovascular events better in Black adults who are prone to early atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and excess events at low CAC scores.

Methods: We included 2551 participants from the JHS (Jackson Heart Study) visit 2 examination (2005-2008) without cardiovascular disease, followed through 2016.

Thermodynamic analysis of the effect of palm stearin on fully hydrogenated soybean oil coatings in granular micronutrient premixes.

This study examined the phase behaviour and temperature-dependent viscosity of palm stearin and fully hydrogenated soybean oil (FHSBO) mixtures to understand the stability of FHSBO coatings on micronutrient premixes. The Hildebrand equation showed that palm stearin/FHSBO mixtures form liquid solutions, while DSC data indicated partial immiscibility in the solid phase. The melting temperatures and enthalpies of fusion are composition dependent, ranging from 67 °C and 138 J/g for 100 % FHSBO to 13 °C and 71 J/g for 100 % palm stearin.

A Pharmacokinetic and Bioavailability Study of Phlorotannins Following Intravenous and Oral Administration in Sprague-Dawley Rats.

Known for their potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and many other bioactivities, these phlorotannins, particularly dieckol, 8,8'-bieckol, and phlorofucofuroeckol-A (PFF-A), were analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry. Intravenous administration at 10 mg/kg allowed detectability in plasma for up to 36 h for dieckol and 8,8'-bieckol, but only 2 h for PFF-A.
