Response rates of pazopanib therapy in metastatic soft tissue sarcoma using real‑world data.

The present study was a retrospective single-center study. A total of 81 patients diagnosed with metastatic soft tissue sarcoma were included who received pazopanib therapy. Clinical data, including age at diagnosis, histological subtype, treatments received before pazopanib, number of metastatic sites at the time of initiation of treatment, progression-free survival and overall survival time under pazopanib treatment, side effects and response evaluation in follow-up imaging after initiation of pazopanib therapy, were recorded.

Prognostic and predictive role of liquid biopsy in lung cancer patients.

Introduction: Lung cancer (LC) is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Approximately 80% of LC cases are of the non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) type, and approximately two-thirds of these cases are diagnosed in advanced stages. Only systemic treatment methods can be applied to patients in the advanced stages when there is no chance of surgical treatment.

Role of p38 MAPK, Akt and NFκB in renoprotective effects of nebivolol on renal ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats.

Renal ischemia-reperfusion (I-R) injury is a complex pathophysiologic condition characterized by oxidative stress, inflammation and apoptosis. We investigated the potential renoprotective effect of nebivolol, a β adrenergic receptor blocker, against renal I-R injury. We focused on the role of nebivolol in activating p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling, Akt (protein kinase B) and nuclear factor-κB (NFκB) transcription factors, which contribute to oxidative stress, inflammation and apoptosis during renal I-R.

A prospective long-term evaluation of the ocular findings of children followed with the diagnosis of multisystem inflammatory syndrome (long-term evaluation of ocular findings following MIS-C).

Background/objectives: The most frequently reported ocular finding in the acute phase of the multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), is conjunctivitis. More rarely, punctuate epitheliopathy, anterior uveitis and optic disc oedema can be seen. We aimed to investigate the acute and long-term ocular effects of MIS-C.

Clinical and genetic spectrum from a prototype of ciliopathy: Joubert syndrome.

Objective: Joubert syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder with a distinctive hindbrain malformation called molar tooth sign, causing motor and cognitive impairments. The genes associated with the development and prognosis of MCL are still largely unknown.

Colistin Treatment for Multidrug-Resistant Gram-Negative Infections in Children: Caution Required for Nephrotoxicity.

Objectives: Colistin has come to the fore as a treatment option, especially with the occurrence of multidrug-resistant Gram-negative infections across the world. However, the high nephrotoxic effects of colistin should be taken into consideration in children. The study's primary outcome was to determine the clinical success of the colistin treatment, and the secondary outcome was to detect the side effects related to colistin.

The Significance of Histopathologic Assessment in Bone Marrow Disease in Neuroblastoma.

Objective: Neuroblastoma (NB) is the most common extracranial solid tumor in children and is responsible for 12% of cancer-related deaths. The status of metastatic disease in the bone marrow (BM) is a predictor of poor outcome. The purpose of this study was to investigate the predictive significance of histopathological examination of BM in NB.

Microsurgical anatomy of safe entry zones on the ventrolateral brainstem: a morphometric study.

Surgery of the brainstem is challenging due to the complexity of the area with cranial nerve nuclei, reticular formation, and ascending and descending fibers. Safe entry zones are required to reach the intrinsic lesions of the brainstem. The aim of this study was to provide detailed measurements for anatomical landmark zones of the ventrolateral surface of the human brainstem related to previously described safe entry zones.

The use of serum endothelial adhesion molecules in pediatric patients with leukemia with febrile neutropenia to predict bacteremia.

Objective: Febrile neutropenia (FN) represents a life-threatening complication in hematological malignancies. We aimed to analyze the utility of soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (sVCAM-1), intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (sICAM-1), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) levels compared with C-reactive protein (CRP) and procalcitonin (PCT) during febrile neutropenia episodes of pediatric patients with leukemia.

Methods: Two plasma samples, on day 0 (initial of episode) and day 3 (48-72 h after episode), for VCAM-1, ICAM-1 and VEGF, CRP and PCT were prospectively collected concomitantly during each febrile neutropenic episode between December 2016 and December 2017.

Usage of Plasma Presepsin, C-Reactive Protein, Procalcitonin and Proadrenomedullin to Predict Bacteremia in Febril Neutropenia of Pediatric Hematological Malignancy Patients.

Objective: To investigate the value of presepsin and proadrenomedullin (proADM) as new markers for febrile neutropenia, by comparing them with conventional markers.

Methods: Plasma specimens for presepsin, proADM, C-reactive protein (CRP), and procalcitonin (PCT) were collected every 3 days during each episode of febrile neutropenia.

Methods: Sample included 228 depressive patients on antidepressants for at least 1 month presenting to the Psychiatry Clinic of a hospital in the west side of Turkey, between April and June 2018.

Results: Women who were in the young age group, did not have any problems in sexual life before starting depression medication, had sexual intercourse 11 times or more per month, proposed to initiate a sexual intercourse together with their husbands were found to have higher Sexual Quality of Life-Female scores.
