Introduction: Although long-term survival in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) is limited, treatments for third-line and later treatment are now recommended. We describe a patient who achieved long-term survival when they received third-line treatment with trifluridine/tipiracil (FTD/TPI).
Case Presentation: The woman who was 52 years old at diagnosis of adenocarcinoma of the right colon (T3/N0/M1) with metastases to the lung, liver, ovary, and other soft tissues received first-line fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy (FOLFOX/FOLFIRI plus bevacizumab) intermittently for approximately 8.

Graft survival is a critical end point in adult-to-adult living donor liver transplantation (ALDLT), where graft procurement endangers the lives of healthy individuals. Therefore, ALDLT must be responsibly performed in the perspective of a positive harm-to-benefit ratio. This study aimed to develop a risk prediction model for early (3 months) graft failure (EGF) following ALDLT.

Background: Live donor liver transplantation for infants weighing <10 kg has unique complexities, as patient/graft size discrepancies may cause vascular perfusion deficiencies. Failure of the abdominal closure further complicates this already challenging procedure. To overcome these potential problems, several techniques for graft size reduction-either anatomic or nonanatomic-have been proposed in the literature.

Second-line chemotherapy is recommended for patients who have disease progression after first-line chemotherapy and have a good performance status. The aim of our study is thus to determine which chemotherapy regimen is more appropriate for second-line gastric cancer treatment. Patients were included if they met the following inclusion criteria: metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma pathology; no previous treatment for local gastric cancer (surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy); received first-line chemotherapy for metastatic gastric cancer and had the disease progress afterward; had adequate organ functions for second-line chemotherapy; had an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) score 0-2; and were HER-2 negative.

Background: Herein, a different technique is presented describing complete dissection of the entire portal vein (PV), superior mesenteric vein (SMV), and splenic vein, thus enabling a complete thrombectomy without the risk of uncontrolled hemorrhage due to blind thrombectomy.
Methods: In cases where a thrombectomy would not be an option because of extensive thrombosis involving the confluence of the PV and SMV, small branches of the SMV, including the inferior mesenteric vein, were divided. Both the SMV and splenic vein were encircled separately.

Unlabelled: İNTRODUCTION: Although pancreatic cancer ranks seventh in cancer-related deaths, it is an extremely fatal disease, and more than 330,000 people die from this disease worldwide. Although there are many first-line treatment studies in the literature, there are almost no prospective studies regarding second-line therapy. Therefore, there is no standard approach in the second-line treatment of pancreatic cancer.

Biliary complications (BCs) are still a major cause of morbidity following liver transplantation despite the advancements in the surgical technique. Although Roux-en-Y (RY) hepaticojejunostomy has been the standard technique for years in pediatric patients, there is a limited number of reports on the feasibility of duct-to-duct (DD) anastomosis, and those reports have controversial outcomes. With the largest number of patients ever reported on the topic, this study aims to discuss the feasibility of the DD biliary reconstruction technique in pediatric living donor liver transplantation (LDLT).

Type 1 tyrosinemia is a rare metabolic disorder of the tyrosine degradation pathway. Due to the rarity of the disease, the best evidence literature offers is limited to guidelines based on expert opinions and optimal treatment is still a debate. LT serves as a definitive treatment of the defective metabolic pathway in the liver along with other serious disease manifestations such as LF and HCC.

Introduction: Liver transplantation (LT) remains the best treatment option for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Patient selection is crucial and debated ever since the emerging of the Milan criteria in 1996. As live-donor LT is being more routinely performed worldwide, numerous new and/or expansions of the original criteria have been suggested to allow more patients to benefit from this superior treatment modality.

The hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tumor marker alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is only elevated in about half of the HCC patients, limiting its usefulness in following the effects of therapy or screening. New markers are needed. It has been previously noted that the inflammation markers C-reactive protein (CRP) and platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) are prognostically important and may reflect HCC aggressiveness.

Background: Venous reconstruction in living-donor liver transplantation for Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) has challenges because the grafts from living donors lack vena cava, and hepatic venous anastomosis must be performed on an already-thrombosed and/or stenosed inferior vena cava. Several techniques are described to overcome this problem, and we represent our experience with 22 patients.
Methods: Medical recordings of 22 patients were retrospectively collected, and disease-specific data as well as recordings about surgical technique were analyzed.
