This study pioneered an eco-friendly approach for reutilizing Ground-granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) in paper production. This investigation is the first study focusing on the usage of paper production that presents both a new usage area of GGBFS and also a new sight. So, it can contribute to save the trees.

Purpose: Tamoxifen, a widely used drug for breast cancer treatment, is associated with adverse effects on the liver, including the development of fatty liver. This study aimed to investigate the potential protective effect of caffeine against tamoxifen-induced fatty liver in Wistar rats.
Methods: Rats were divided into normal control, tamoxifen + saline, and tamoxifen + caffeine.

Background: Nanostructured materials used have unique properties and many uses in nanotechnology. The most striking of these is using herbal compounds for the green synthesis of nanoparticles. Among the nanoparticle types used for green synthesis, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are used for cancer therapy due to their stable structure and non-cytotoxic.

Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder, primarily observed in populations around the Mediterranean Sea, linked to MEFV gene mutations. These mutations disrupt inflammatory responses, increasing pyrin-protein production. Traditional diagnosis relies on clinical symptoms, family history, acute phase reactants, and excluding similar syndromes with MEFV testing, which is expensive and often inconclusive due to heterozygous mutations.

Our primary aim with this study was to build a patient-level classifier for stroke territory in DWI using AI to facilitate fast triage of stroke to a dedicated stroke center. A retrospective collection of DWI images of 271 and 122 consecutive acute ischemic stroke patients from two centers was carried out. Pretrained MobileNetV2 and EfficientNetB0 architectures were used to classify territorial subtypes as middle cerebral artery, posterior circulation, or watershed infarcts along with normal slices.

Objective: To investigate the correlation between MRI-based phenotypes (cartilage-meniscus, subchondral bone, and inflammatory) and radiography-based atrophic and hypertrophic phenotypes, aiming to demonstrate MRI's diagnostic capability in identifying complex osteoarthritis phenotypes that radiography cannot fully capture.
Materials And Methods: This single-center retrospective study examined knee radiographs and MRIs of patients from November 2021 to April 2023 to identify osteoarthritis phenotypes. Radiographs were staged by the Kellgren-Lawrence system, and both modalities were classified into atrophic or hypertrophic phenotypes.

Background The need for blood arising from illness, surgery, and accidents is met through donations. With global population growth, both non-governmental organizations and public institutions are vital for blood supply and distribution. The Turkish Red Crescent, a leading non-governmental organization in blood donation and humanitarian aid, excels in both national and international contexts, ensuring a safe blood supply and reinforcing social solidarity during crises.

HbA1c is the most widely used test as an indicator of glucoregulation in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Asprosin and oxidative stress levels can be reduced with good glycemic control (GC) and thus prevented or delayed micro/macro complications in patients with T2DM. The relationship between asprosin, which is thought to affect GC, and oxidative stress parameters such as lipid hydroperoxides (LOOHs), glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (Cu,Zn-SOD), and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) was evaluated in T2DM patients.

This study investigates the structural and photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of Tb-incorporated KY(BO) (KYBO) phosphors synthesized via a microwave-assisted sol-gel technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Rietveld refinement confirmed the formation of a pure hexagonal phase, with lattice expansion due to Tb³⁺ doping. PL studies revealed strong green emissions centered at 541 nm, attributed to the ⁵D₄ → ⁷F₅ transitions of Tb³⁺ ions, with the highest intensity observed at 5 wt% Tb³⁺.

Background: Radiation-induced lung injury (RILI), a serious side effect of thoracic radiotherapy, can lead to acute radiation pneumonitis (RP) and chronic pulmonary fibrosis (PF). Despite various interventions, no effective protocol exists to prevent pneumonitis. Oxytocin (OT), known for its anti-inflammatory, antiapoptotic, and antioxidant properties, has not been explored for its potential in mitigating RILI.

In rat models, it is well-documented that chronic administration of propionic acid (PPA) leads to autism-like behaviors. Although the intranasal (IN) insulin approach is predominantly recognized for its effects on food restriction, it has also been shown to enhance cognitive memory by influencing various proteins, modulating anti-inflammatory pathways in the brain, and reducing signaling molecules such as interleukins. This study seeks to explore the potential therapeutic benefits of IN insulin in a rat model of autism induced by PPA.
