Since the first successful use of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), much has changed in its technology, area of use, and management. Despite suggestions in guidelines, the institutional behavior may change based on institutional experience and established habits. This so-called "deviation" may alter management strategies in favorable or unfavorable ways.

Effect of Early Versus Delayed Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy on Postoperative Morbidity and Difficult Cholecystectomy in Patients With Grade II Cholecystitis According to Tokyo 2018 Guidelines: A Prospective Study.

Background: The timing of the cholecystectomy in patients with acute cholecystitis is still controversial. In our study, we aimed to investigate the effect of early and delayed cholecystectomy on difficult cholecystectomy, morbidity and mortality in patients diagnosed with Grade II acute cholecystitis according to Tokyo 2018 guidelines.

Methods: Patients who presented to the emergency department and diagnosed with Grade II acute cholecystitis between December 2019 and June 2021 were included in this study.

Effect of skeletal muscle area and prognostic nutritional index in periampullary tumors.

Introduction: The skeletal muscle area (SMA) and prognostic nutritional index (PNI) are both considered as predictive parameters for mortality and morbidity for various type of cancer. In this study, we aimed to identify the effects of pre-operative SMA and PNI values on post-operative mortality and morbidity in patients with periampullary region tumors (PRT).

Methods: Patients between 2010 and 2020 were retrospectively analyzed and divided into two groups according to SMA and PNI cutoff values.

Comparison of the micro-percutaneous neprhrolithotomy results between adult and pediatric cases: Is it safe and effective for pediatric cases?

Objective: To compare the safety and effectivity of micro percutaneous nephrolithotomy (MicroPNL) in adults and children.

Material And Methods: Twenty children and twenty adult patients underwent MicroPNL were evaluated prospective consecutively,between June 2016 and December 2017,who were not suitable for retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS).Demographic data,stone free rates,length of hospitalization,duration of the operation,fluoroscopy time,transfusion rates,requirement of double J (D-J) catheter implantation and complications were examined.
