Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA) is increasingly being used as a reliable option for various shoulder disorders with deteriorated rotator cuff and glenohumeral joints. The stemless humerus component for shoulder arthroplasties is evolving with theoretical advantages, such as preservation of the humeral bone stock and decreased risk of periprosthetic fractures, as well as clinical research demonstrating less intraoperative blood loss, reduced surgical time, a lower rate of intraoperative fractures, and improved center of rotation restoration. In particular, for anatomical total shoulder arthroplasty (aTSA), the utilization of stemless humeral implants is gaining consensus in younger patients.

A 76-year-old woman was diagnosed with invasive bladder cancer and underwent cystectomy, bilateral external iliac, internal iliac and obturator lymph node dissection, and bilateral cutaneous ureterostomy. Pathological findings showed no lymph node metastasis ; however, the patient had lower abdominal pain and fever from the 14th postoperative day, and computed tomography (CT) revealed fluid retention in the pelvis. Retrograde pyelography showed no leakage from the urinary tract, and a drain was placed after percutaneous puncture of the pelvic cavity.

In breast cancer surgery, some medical facilities lack the necessary resources to conduct sentinel lymph node biopsy and its intraoperative frozen section consultation. In the coastal rural area of Fukushima, Japan, which has suffered from physician undersupply following the 2011 triple disaster of earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster, we explored the feasibility of telepathology by evaluating the diagnostic accuracy in remote intraoperative frozen section consultation of sentinel lymph node biopsy and its required time. Although examination time has room for improvement, telepathology can be one possible solution in resource-limited areas.

Background: New-generation drug-eluting stents (DES) achieved technological innovations and reported clinical advantages as compared with first-generation DES in clinical trials with 3-5 years follow-up. However, detailed clinical outcome data in very long-term follow-up is still scarce.
Objectives: To evaluate 10-year clinical outcomes after first- and new-generation DES implantation.
