The current classification fails to fully meet the needs of physicians and COPD patients in clinical practice. The future classification should aim to prevent the development of disease in high-risk groups, enable early diagnosis before irreversible damage occurs, identify subgroups, and provide pathophysiological insight to inspire drug development. It would be reasonable to thoroughly examine and assess the contributing factors such as an increase in the annual decline of (FEV1), bronchial hyperresponsiveness, variable obstruction, FEV1 % predicted, blood eosinophil count, preserved ratio impaired spirometry (PRISm), and the subgroups of group B as potential additions to the new classification.

Introduction: The aim of the study was to analyse the clinical and demographic features of infants with gestational age (GA) of 32-37 weeks and birth weight (BW) of >1,500 g who developed treatment requiring retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).
Methods: Data on the infants with a GA of 32-37 weeks and BW >1,500 g who developed treatment requiring ROP (TR-ROP) were collected retrospectively from the 33 ROP centres in Turkiye. GA, BW, type of hospital, neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) level, presence of an ophthalmologist and neonatologist in the same hospital, length of stay in NICU, duration of oxygen therapy, comorbidities, type of ROP, and timing for TR-ROP development were analysed.

Background And Aim: Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) incidence has recently increased in younger individuals. With time, given the nature of the disease and available therapies, as well as the existing paucity and inconsistency of advice, worries about fertility have surfaced. With all these clear unknowns, we designed this study to raise awareness among both physicians and CML patients about whether male and female patients of childbearing age were using contraception at the time of diagnosis, and if so, which methods they were using.

: To evaluate the effects of the pulse index continuous cardiac output and MostCare Pressure Recording Analytical Method hemodynamic monitoring systems on short-term graft and patient outcomes during living donor liver transplantation in adult patients. : Overall, 163 adult patients who underwent living donor liver transplantation between January 2018 and March 2022 and met the study inclusion criteria were divided into two groups based on the hemodynamic monitoring systems used during surgery: the MostCare Pressure Recording Analytical Method group ( = 73) and the pulse index continuous cardiac output group ( = 90). The groups were compared with respect to preoperative clinicodemographic features (age, sex, body mass index, graft-to-recipient weight ratio, and Model for End-stage Liver Disease score), intraoperative clinical characteristics, and postoperative biochemical parameters (aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, prothrombin time, international normalized ratio, and platelet count).

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a tick-borne zoonotic viral disease. MicroRNAs (miRNAs), which play an important role in the regulation of gene expression, are involved in many processes essential for cell life such as development, differentiation, survival, apoptosis and aging. If miRNAs fail to fulfill their functions, they cause susceptibility to many diseases, including viral infections or cause the disease to be experienced in different clinical situations, such as severe or mild.

Aim: ST2 receptor is a member of toll-like/interleukin-1 receptor family. After the activation of IL-33/ST2 signaling pathway clinically detectable amount of soluble form of ST2 (sST2) is released into the circulation. Previous studies showed that sST2 levels were significantly higher in hypertension patients than in controls.

Purpose: Growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF-15) is a member of the transforming growth factor beta superfamily and is faintly expressed under healthy conditions. GDF-15 is markedly elevated in a variety of diseases, including coronary artery disease (CAD), atrial fibrillation and heart failure. Here, we aimed to investigate the association of GDF-15 with the extent and severity of CAD in patients with stable CAD.

Background: The aim of this study was to assess the impact of serum panel reactive antibodies (PRA) on the outcomes of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in pediatric thalassemia patients.
Methods: A total of 73 pediatric patients with thalassemia were included in this single-center study. Pre-transplant PRA levels were evaluated, and the patients were divided into two groups: PRA-negative (group 1; n = 44) and PRA-positive (group 2; n = 29).

Purpose: The detrimental effect of greater tuberosity malposition on functional scores is well known. Superior or posterior malpositions exceeding five mm lead to excessive loading on the deltoid strength. However, the significance of situations where greater tuberosity becomes medialized due to the compressive effect of the locking plate fixation, especially in fractures with metaphyseal dead space, has not been emphasized.

Objective: Correction of nasal tip projection (NTP) deformities involve techniques for the lower lateral cartilage of the nose. Previously, it would have been surgically difficult to perform the lateral crural overlay (LCO) technique for the second time in revision rhinoplasty in patients who already had undergone rhinoplasty with the LCO technique because of the length of the NTP. In this study, we evaluated the lateral crural segmental excision (LCSE) technique in patients with overprojected nasal tip in revision rhinoplasty.

Objective: The median survival time for metastatic gastric cancer that has a poor prognosis is usually shorter than 1 year. The fluorouracil, oxaliplatin, and docetaxel (FLOT) regimen is observed to be effective in the neo-adjuvant treatment of gastric cancer. However, data on the FLOT regimen in metastatic gastric cancer are limited.

Background: We compared the effect of intermittent blood and histidine-tryptophan-ketoglutarate (HTK) solution of Bretschneider on myocardial histopathology and perioperative outcome.
Methods: Forty adult cardiac surgery patients were grouped into two ( = 20 for each): (1) Intermittent blood cardioplegia (IBC): had repeated cold 4:1 blood cardioplegia and (2) HTK: had a single dose of cold HTK for cardioprotection. Creatine kinase (CK)-MB, Troponin-I (cTn-I), pH, and lactate were studied in coronary sinus blood before and after aortic cross-clamping (AXC) and systemic blood at postoperative 6, 24, and 48 hours.

Tuberous sclerosis is a genetic multisystem disorder characterised by hamartomas in several organs. Cardiac rhabdomyomas are the main features of the disease but lipomas can very rarely be associated. Herein, we present a very rare association of tuberous sclerosis and cardiac lipoma detected by echocardiography and diagnosed as a lipoma via MRI and fat suppression technic, aim to report this very rare association, and emphasise usefulness of MRI in cardiac mass lesions.

Purpose: To compare macula vascular parameters in optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) of children with history of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) who were treated with laser photocoagulation (LPC) or intravitreal Bevacizumab therapy.
Methods: Forty eyes of 28 ROP children treated with LPC and 36 eyes of 22 ROP children treated with intravitreal Bevacizumab and 40 eyes of 40 age-gender matched term children were included the study. Capillary plexus densities in macula, FAZ parameters, outer retina and choriocapillaris flow rates, and central foveal thickness were measured.
