Background: We aimed to evaluate the effects of minimal enteral nutrition (MEN) on mesenteric blood flow and oxygenation with Doppler USG and Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) during therapeutic hypothermia (TH) in babies with HIE.

Methods: This prospective, randomized-controlled study was composed of infants receiving MEN (study group, n = 30) and infants who were not fed (control group, n = 30) during hypothermia. Infants were monitored continuously with NIRS and mesenteric blood flow velocities were measured with Doppler USG before and after feeding.

Objective: Technology addiction is an increasingly important public health problem all over the world that negatively affects people's mental and physical health. In this study, we examined technology addiction and social connectedness levels of psychiatric patients who admitted to clinics in different geographical regions of Turkey.

Methods: A total of 642 people with a diagnosis of psychiatric illness who applied to psychiatry clinics in İstanbul, Elaziğ, Malatya, Yozgat, Adıyaman, and Bingöl provinces were included.

Evaluation of Cognitive Functions in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: A Prospective Pilot Study.

Method: We performed an international study of adults (≥ 18 years) who underwent surgery for PPU from 1st January 2022 to 30th June 2022.

Background: This research examined how the emotional temperaments of parents of children with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder correlated with their perceptions of their children's social support from friends, teachers, and families. Additionally, the parents' emotional temperaments in terms of their association with children's low and high perceptions of family support were examined.

Methods: The study included 50 children with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, 40 neurotypical control subjects, and their parents.

Objective: The aim of this study is to present the expressions of Calreticulin (CALR) and Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) in high-grade gliomas and to further show the relation between the levels of these molecules and Ki-67 index, presence of Isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH)-1 mutation, and tumor grade.

The role of calcitonin gene-related peptide and substance P in the pathogenesis of dialysis headache.

Aim: The present study aims to establish the role of serum CGRP and SP levels in the disease pathophysiology in patients with dialysis headache not accompanied by primary or secondary headaches, and also whether there is a correlation between these vasoactive peptides and the severity of headache.

Method: This study was designed as prospective and multicenter. A total of 30 dialysis headache patients and 30 patients without headache as the control group in the Nephrology outpatient clinics which implement similar dialysis procedures were included in the study.

Predictive value of different glycemic control markers in total hip or knee arthroplasty: A prospective study.

Objective: The optimal glycemic control marker before total hip or knee arthroplasty remains inconclusive. Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is widely used, while fructosamine may be valuable for predicting periprosthetic joint infection (PJI). Fructosamine levels can be affected by serum albumin levels; albumin-corrected fructosamine (AlbF) can be calculated to overcome this issue.

Effects of repeated intravenous doses of tranexamic acid on closed tibial fracture healing: Experimental study based on the rat model.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the effects of tranexamic acid on fracture healing in the rat tibia closed fracture model.

Methods: Sixty-four male Sprague-Dawley rats were included in this study, where closed fracture and intramedullary nailing were performed on their right tibial diaphyses. They were divided into 2 main groups, the experimental group, which was given weekly tranexamic acid injections, and the control group, which received no additional treatment.

The effects of mydriatic eye drops on cerebral blood flow and oxygenation in retinopathy of prematurity examinations.

Mydriatic eye drops used during retinopathy examination have been associated with cardiovascular, respiratory, and gastrointestinal side effects. The aim of our study was to investigate the effects of the drops used for pupil dilatation on cerebral blood flow and cerebral oxygenation. The study included 62 infants who underwent retinopathy screening exams.

Effects of fentanyl and sucrose on pain in retinopathy examinations with pain scale, near-infrared spectroscopy, and ultrasonography: a randomized trial.

Background: This study aimed to compare the efficacy of intravenous, intranasal fentanyl and oral sucrose in reducing the pain response during retinopathy of prematurity examinations using premature infant pain profile (PIPP) scores.

Method: The study included 42 infants who underwent retinopathy screening examinations. The infants were divided into three groups: oral sucrose, intranasal fentanyl, and intravenous fentanyl.

Aim    In this study, we aimed to investigate the role of sCD163 / tumor necrosis factor-like weak apoptosis-inducing (TWEAK) ratio in cardiac remodeling in non-elderly patients diagnosed with first acute myocardial infarction (MI).Material and Methods    Forty-four patients (age ranges: 40-64 years) diagnosed with first-time acute ST-elevation MI in the emergency department were evaluated with cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging. Adverse remodeling (AR) was defined the increases of left ventricular end-diastolic volume by ≥12 % by CMR at 6‑month post-MI TWEAK and sCD163 were measured at the first day (baseline), 2 weeks and 6 weeks post-MI.

Predicting the predisposition to colorectal cancer based on SNP profiles of immune phenotypes using supervised learning models.

This study explores the machine learning-based assessment of predisposition to colorectal cancer based on single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP). Such a computational approach may be used as a risk indicator and an auxiliary diagnosis method that complements the traditional methods such as biopsy and CT scan. Moreover, it may be used to develop a low-cost screening test for the early detection of colorectal cancers to improve public health.

Does focal heterogeneity affect survival in postoperative ipsilateral multifocal and multicentric breast cancers?

Objective: In multicentric/multifocal breast tumors, there may be immunological and histological differences between foci that may affect survival and treatment choice. We aimed to evaluate the effect of focal heterogeneity seen in multicentric/multifocal breast tumors on survival.

Methods: We retrospectively collected and analyzed the clinicopathological data of 89 female patients with multifocal/multicentric breast cancer, whose surgical and medical treatment was completed and who were followed up for 5 years.

Tc-PSMA targeted robot-assisted radioguided surgery during radical prostatectomy and extended lymph node dissection of prostate cancer patients.

Objective: The feasibility of tracer production of technetium (Tc)-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-I&S sterile cold kit, imaging with single photon emission tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT), and Tc-PSMA-radioguided robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (Tc-PSMA-RG-RALRP) technique for lymph node (LN) dissection of primary prostate cancer (PCa) patients were evaluated prospectively.

Methods: Fifteen primary PCa patients with intermediate- or high-risk score according to D'Amico risk stratification who had PSMA receptor affinity with Ga-68 PSMA-11 PET/CT were enrolled. After Tc-PSMA-I&S injection and SPECT/CT imaging, Tc-PSMA-RG-RALRP with DaVinci XI robotic platform and laparoscopic gamma probe were performed.

Evaluation of the impact of subepithelial corneal infiltrates on corneal biomechanics after epidemic keratoconjunctivitis.

Purpose: To examine the effect of subepithelial corneal infiltrates on corneal biomechanical properties after epidemic keratoconjunctivitis compared to that in healthy controls.

Methods: The cross-sectional study included consecutive patients with bilateral subepithelial corneal infiltrates after epidemic keratoconjunctivitis and healthy controls. Best corrected visual acuity corneal subepithelial infiltrate scoring Fantes grading scale, and central corneal thickness were measured.

Radiological parameter associated with the survival of old patients with hip fracture.

Aim: We aimed to investigate the relationship between radiological parameters and survival of patients with hip fracture aged >65 years.

Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study with reviewed recorded data of patients who were treated for hip fracture. Radiological parameters were included the psoas:lumbar vertebral index (PLVI) by evaluating computed tomography (to assess sarcopenia), the cortical thickness index (CTI), Dorr morphology, canal-to-calcar ratio (CCR) and presence of iliac and femoral arterial calcification on both lower extremities by evaluating hip and pelvis radiographs.

Brentuximab vedotin consolidation therapy after autologous stem-cell transplantation in patients with high-risk Hodgkin lymphoma: Multicenter retrospective study.

The AETHERA trial reported an increased progression-free survival (PFS) when brentuximab vedotin (BV) was used as maintenance therapy in high-risk Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) after autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT). Thus, we aimed to determine the impact and safety of BV as maintenance after ASCT in real-world patients. Seventy-five patients with relapsed/refractory HL started on BV consolidation therapy after ASCT due to high risk of relapse, between January 2016 and July 2019, from 25 institutions, were included in the study.

A New Cross-Linked Hyaluronic Acid Gel for Preventing Adhesion After Thyroid Surgery: An Animal Study.
