Cucurbitacins have high economic value as they are a major source of food and have pharmacological properties. Cucurbitacin I (CuI) is a plant-derived natural tetracyclic triterpenoid compound that shows an anticancer effect via inhibiting the JAK2-STAT3 signaling pathway. The actin cytoskeleton is the most abundant protein in cells and regulates critical events through reorganization in cells.

Background: Perioperative fluid therapy is used to avoid dehydration and hypovolemia. Optimum perioperative fluid administration may improve postoperative outcomes after major surgery, and the optimal strategy remains controversial and uncertain.
Aims: The primary outcome was the total amount of intraoperative fluids given between perioperative goal-directed fluid therapy (GDFT) guided by a hemodynamic monitoring system and standard fluid therapy based on “mean arterial pressure-diuresis” data in patients undergoing head and neck surgery.

Background: Although studies on epileptic seizures occurring during acute asthma attacks are limited, there is widespread belief among families and physicians that salbutamol causes seizures.
Aims: To investigate whether salbutamol triggers seizures in patients with epilepsy and asthma.
Study Design: A retrospective cohort study.
Objective: To examine the immunoglobulin G-receptor-binding domain (IgG-RBD) response and changes in fibrinogen and D-dimer concentrations in individuals with a past coronavirus infection and followed by CoronaVac.
Methods: The study consisted of a total of 116 participants. Blood samples were drawn from subjects 21-25 days after they received first and second doses of CoronaVac as well as from individuals with a past infection.
Background Intramyocardial edema and hemorrhage are key pathological mechanisms in the development of reperfusion-related microvascular damage in ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction. These processes may be facilitated by abrupt restoration of intracoronary pressure and flow triggered by primary percutaneous coronary intervention. We investigated whether pressure-controlled reperfusion via gradual reopening of the infarct-related artery may limit microvascular injury in patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention.

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the efficacy of abbreviated breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) response evaluation.
Methods: MR images of 50 locally advanced breast cancer patients who underwent standard protocol (SP) breast MRI before and after NAC were re-evaluated retrospectively. Abbreviated protocol (AP) was obtained by extracting images from SP and then evaluating them in a separate session.

Rupture of a metastatic liver tumor associated with laryngeal cancer is a very rare complication with no previous case in the literature. We present a case of ruptured liver metastases which was treated conservatively. Dynamic contrast-enhanced computed tomography demonstrated active extravasation and discontinuity of liver capsule.

It may be prudent to prepare a living donor for possible salvage transplant in case of a severe complication. Preemptive transplantation in mildly symptomatic patients should be discouraged.

Objective: We aimed to describe a case study of tuberculous meningitis in a patient with multiple sclerosis (MS) receiving fingolimod.
Case Report: A-Thirty-five-year-old woman with MS started interferon beta-1b treatment in 2016. Due to frequent relapses and disability accumulation, her treatment was switched to fingolimod in 2018.
Background The extent of pressure-related damage might be related to acceleration rate of the applied pressure (peak dP/dt) in the vascular system. In this study, we sought to determine whether dP/dt applied to the aortic wall (aortic dP/dt) and in turn vascular extracellular matrix degradation can be mitigated via modulation of left ventricular (LV) contractility (LV dP/dt) by pacemaker-mediated desynchronization. Methods and Results First, in 34 patients, changes in aortic dP/dt values in 3 aortic segments in response to pacemaker-mediated stepwise QRS widening leading to gradual desynchronization of the LV contraction by means of steadily changed atrioventricular delay (AVD) with temporary dual-chamber pacing was examined before and after beta-blocker (15 mg IV metoprolol) administration.
