Background: Low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma is a rare soft tissue tumor characterized by a benign histological appearance but with a high potential for recurrence and metastasis. First described by Evans in 1987, recurrence and metastasis can occur decades after the initial diagnosis, complicating long-term management.
Case Presentation: We report the case of an 83-year-old Jewish female patient diagnosed with low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma in her right shoulder.

Background: Fear of Falling (FOF) significantly affects Parkinson's Disease (PD) patients by limiting daily activities and reducing quality of life (QoL). Though common in PD, the relation between FOF, mobility, and QoL remains unclear. This study examines the connections between FOF, gait, daily motor activity, and QoL in PD patients.

Spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC) inhibitors are a recently developed class of drugs, which perturb chromosome segregation during cell division, induce chromosomal instability (CIN), and eventually lead to cell death. The molecular features that determine cellular sensitivity to these drugs are not fully understood. We recently reported that aneuploid cancer cells are preferentially sensitive to SAC inhibition.

Purpose: To evaluate the association between lateral placentation and adverse perinatal outcomes, including rates of small for gestational age (SGA) neonates, hypertensive (HTN) disorders, and preterm delivery, as well as postpartum hemorrhage and retained placenta.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included all women with singleton pregnancies who underwent a trial of labor after reaching 24 weeks of gestation, at a single tertiary medical center, over a period of 6 years. The study group included women with lateral placentation.

Objectives: A strong association exists between left atrial (LA) structural remodeling and the development of atrial fibrillation (AF). The role of LA function in AF prediction remains unclear. We studied the relationship between LA function and incident AF using cardiac CT.

The literature shows a lack of significant research on the synthesis of large spherical PbTe quantum dots (QDs), particularly with controllable sizes and morphology. Here, we present for the first time a novel hot-injection method for the tunable, high-quality synthesis of cubooctahedral PbTe QDs within the size range of 10 nm to 16 nm. This method employs a combination of oleic acid (OA) with shorter carboxylic acids, including octanoic (OctA), decanoic (DA), and lauric acids (LA), tested at various volumetric ratios.

In a first for solid cancers, cellular immunotherapy has entered standard of care in the treatment of patients with metastatic melanoma. The infusion of autologous tumor-infiltrating T lymphocytes (TIL) is capable of mediating durable tumor regression and is now Food and Drug Administration-approved for patients with disease refractory to immune checkpoint inhibitors. Since the advent of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells for patients with hematological malignancies, a growing network of centers capable of delivering effector T cell products to patients has developed.

In animals, metabolic rates during ontogeny often scale differently from the way they do in cross-species or population comparisons, with near-isometric scaling patterns more often observed during juvenile growth. In multiple social insect taxa, colony metabolic rate scales hypometrically across species or populations at the same developmental stage, but metabolic patterns during ontogeny have not been examined for any social insect species. We performed the first ontogenetic study of social metabolic scaling in harvester ant colonies () over 3.

Objective: To investigate the association between Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and the rate of embryo development, using time-lapse monitoring systems (TLM), compared to a control group of women with mechanical (tubal) factor infertility.
Design: A retrospective case-control study conducted in a university affiliated IVF unit.
Patients: Women with PCOS undergoing in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments and those with non-PCOS controls with tubal factor infertility only.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of non-invasive coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) as an alternative to traditional invasive coronary angiography (ICA) for preoperative evaluation of low risk patients with an indication for non-emergent mitral surgery and to assess any difference in adverse outcomes from this strategy.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study from a single center with data collected from July 2014 - June 2020 for 1576 patients undergoing mitral valve surgery of all etiologies - excluding patients requiring coronary artery bypass surgery. We performed a 1:2 propensity score matching for patients evaluated with CT (n=345) to those evaluated with ICA (n=602).

Host-microbiome-dietary interactions play crucial roles in regulating human health, yet their direct functional assessment remains challenging. We adopted metagenome-informed metaproteomics (MIM), in mice and humans, to non-invasively explore species-level microbiome-host interactions during commensal and pathogen colonization, nutritional modification, and antibiotic-induced perturbation. Simultaneously, fecal MIM accurately characterized the nutritional exposure landscape in multiple clinical and dietary contexts.

Background: Academic dishonesty poses significant challenges in educational settings, particularly among nursing students. Efforts to mitigate this issue through pedagogical and technological approaches have seen limited success. Diverse theoretical explanations for academic dishonesty underscore the need for further exploration of this multifaceted phenomenon.

Background: Despite the acknowledged importance of advocacy among individuals who experienced violence, there is limited scholarly exploration of how adult individuals who experienced child sexual abuse (CSA) perceive and engage in anti-sexual assault activism.
Objective: This study, conducted in Israel by the Israeli Public Inquiry on CSA, explores how adult activists, who are also CSA survivors, perceive anti-sexual assault activism, the meanings they attribute to their involvement, and how their childhood trauma connects to their activism.
Methods: The study employed semi-structured interviews with 14 individuals who experienced CSA, predominantly from the Jewish community.

Objective: To evaluate triage nurses' clinical judgment in determining short acting β2-agonist bronchodilator therapy need for children with shortness of breath in the pediatric emergency department, without prior physician assessment.
Methods: This prospective study compared decision-making between triage nurses and physicians regarding bronchodilator inhalation therapy necessity. Trained nurses assessed children aged 2-18 with shortness of breath, including history-taking, vital signs, and lung auscultation.

Activity and autonomous motion are fundamental aspects of many living and engineering systems. Here, the scale of biological agents covers a wide range, from nanomotors, cytoskeleton, and cells, to insects, fish, birds, and people. Inspired by biological active systems, various types of autonomous synthetic nano- and micromachines have been designed, which provide the basis for multifunctional, highly responsive, intelligent active materials.

Background: The estimated incidence of chronic subdural hematomas (cSDH) in the general population is projected to nearly double over the next decade, likely making it the most commonly treated cranial neurosurgical condition in adults by 2030. We investigated the outcomes of middle meningeal artery embolization (MMAe) as either a primary or adjunctive treatment for cSDH in nonagenarian patients.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all patients 90 years of age or older treated with middle meningeal artery embolization for cSDH from 2018 to 2024 at two academic institutions.

We report the first autochthonous case of actinomycetoma in a Bedouin patient from Israel's Negev Region. The patient presented with plantar and interdigital (web) nodular lesions. The time to diagnosis from the first medical contact was 4 years, and several treatment modifications were made until a satisfactory clinical response was achieved.

Background: Food and Drug Administration-mandated postmarket studies for transcatheter aortic valve replacement in low-risk populations plan to use passively collected registry data linked to claims for long-term follow-up out to 10 years. Therefore, it is critically important to understand the validity of these claims-based end points. We sought to evaluate the ability of administrative claims with () codes to identify trial-adjudicated end points and reproduce treatment comparisons of aortic valve replacement in the Evolut Low Risk Trial.
