Minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) is a cutting-edge approach to treating glaucoma that provides a range of techniques and technology to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP). An 80-year-old man with visually significant cataracts and primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) underwent combined cataract surgery and TrabEx+ (MicroSurgical Technology, Washington, United States) in his left eye, a unique type of MIGS, as we described in this study. Over the one-year follow-up, this patient showed improved visual function with well-controlled IOP without anti-glaucoma medications.

Background: Diabetic mellitus is a vision-threatening disease because it causes diabetic retinopathy worldwide. The main focus of this research is to determine the prevalence and assess the visual outcome in diabetic retinopathy and macular edema patients by injecting Bevacizumab clinically.
Methods: This hospital-based trial case was conducted in Khulna BNSB Eye Hospital, Bangladesh.

Purpose: Little is known regarding differences in childhood growth between somatic and heritable retinoblastoma (Rb) populations. We aimed to compare childhood growth parameters between somatic and heritable Rb cohorts at birth and at time of diagnosis with Rb.
Methods: A multinational, longitudinal cohort study was conducted with patients from 11 centers in 10 countries who presented with treatment naïve Rb from January to December 2019.

Background: Insulin therapy errors can have life-threatening consequences in patients with diabetes. Given the increasing prevalence of diabetes and insulin therapy in Bangladesh, it is crucial to identify and prevent these errors. This study uses case-based clinical experiences to thematically analyze insulin therapy errors and propose preventive measures.

Aim: This pilot study aimed to demonstrate the usefulness of the red-free (green) filter as a novel modification for better iridocorneal angle visibility during routine gonioscopy.
Methods: As a pilot project, we observed 20 eyes of 10 patients aged 22 to 60 who attended the glaucoma department of a tertiary eye hospital in Bangladesh. All patients underwent a thorough ocular examination, from best-corrected visual acuity to the dilated fundus evaluation.

Background: PCO occurs commonly postoperatively following cataract extraction in children, obscuring vision as did the initial cataract. It may require a second surgical procedure when it is dense. It is expected that this results in restoration of vision and it is important to ascertain that this is the case as well as to examine any significant changes in refraction thereafter.

Although rare, dengue fever-associated ocular manifestations are a valid cause of visual impairment. Clinicians usually have a dilemma between vitrectomy and medical management if there is an associated vitreous hemorrhage. Vitrectomy has been rarely reported previously in the management of vitreous hemorrhage secondary to dengue fever.

Background/objectives: Retinoblastoma is a common childhood intraocular malignancy, the bilateral form of which most commonly results from a de novo germline pathogenic variant in the RB1 gene. Both advanced maternal age and decreasing birth order are known to increase the risk of de novo germline pathogenic variants, while the influence of national wealth is understudied. This cohort study aimed to retrospectively observe whether these factors influence the ratio of bilateral retinoblastoma cases compared to unilateral retinoblastoma, thereby inferring an influence on the development of de novo germline pathogenic variants in RB1.

Importance: High-risk histopathologic features of retinoblastoma are useful to assess the risk of systemic metastasis. In this era of globe salvage treatments for retinoblastoma, the definition of high-risk retinoblastoma is evolving.
Objective: To evaluate variations in the definition of high-risk histopathologic features for metastasis of retinoblastoma in different ocular oncology practices around the world.

The protective effects of breastfeeding on various childhood malignancies have been established but an association has not yet been determined for retinoblastoma (RB). We aimed to further investigate the role of breastfeeding in the severity of nonhereditary RB development, assessing relationship to (1) age at diagnosis, (2) ocular prognosis, measured by International Intraocular RB Classification (IIRC) or Intraocular Classification of RB (ICRB) group and success of eye salvage, and (3) extraocular involvement. Analyses were performed on a global dataset subgroup of 344 RB patients whose legal guardian(s) consented to answer a neonatal questionnaire.

In this study, we aimed to study the effect of lag time between onset of symptoms and diagnosis of retinoblastoma (RB) in countries based on their national-income and analyse its effect on the outcomes.
Methods: We performed a prospective study of 692 patients from 11 RB centres in 10 countries from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019.

Oculodermal melanocytosis (ODM), though rare, is associated with a number of sight-threatening complications including glaucoma. The purpose of this Case Series study was to determine the ophthalmic features in patients diagnosed with ODM. Here, we describe five patients presented with ODM, with the most common ocular features identified being hyperpigmentation of the conjunctiva, sclera and heterochromia iridis.

Aims: To compare the surgical outcomes of trabeculectomy versus Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) implantation in the surgical management of glaucoma in patients with Sturge-Weber syndrome (SWS).
Methods: A retrospective chart review was performed on 40 eyes of secondary glaucoma in patients with SWS separated into two groups: AGV (N=20) and trabeculectomy with mitomycin C (N=20). Demographic data, intraocular pressure (IOP), visual acuity and the number anti-glaucoma medications (AGM) needed were evaluated prior to and following surgery.

Importance: Early diagnosis of retinoblastoma, the most common intraocular cancer, can save both a child's life and vision. However, anecdotal evidence suggests that many children across the world are diagnosed late. To our knowledge, the clinical presentation of retinoblastoma has never been assessed on a global scale.

Ahmed glaucoma valve implant appears to be a relatively useful drainage device in eyes with glaucoma secondary to Sturge-Weber syndrome (SWS). However, early postoperative choroidal and exudative retinal detachment may occur from a rapid expansion of the choroidal hemangioma with effusion of fluid into the suprachoroidal and subretinal spaces. We report the case of a ten-year-old boy who had SWS with choroidal haemangioma and secondary glaucoma.

Several epidemics of blindness due to retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) have been described, with the most recent (the third) occurring in middle income countries in Latin America and Eastern Europe initially, and more recently in the more advanced economies in Asia. In these settings, which are characterized by variation in the quality of neonatal care and inadequate coverage of ROP screening and treatment, larger, more mature infants are affected as well as extremely preterm infants. In 2010 the annual incidence of blindness and visual impairment from ROP globally was estimated to be 32,300, with the lowest incidence in sub-Saharan countries.

Aims:: To compare the efficacy and safety of trabeculectomy with Ologen versus Mitomycin C in primary glaucoma.
Materials And Methods:: This is a prospective study of patients aged 18 years and above, diagnosed with primary glaucoma randomised to having trabeculectomy with Ologen or Mitomycin C. The primary outcome measure was success of trabeculectomy defined as intraocular pressure >5 mmHg but ≤21 mmHg.
