The purpose of the research was to investigate university teachers' perceptions of information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance teaching and construct new knowledge. The objective was to determine how teachers at the University of the Gambia perceived the effectiveness of the TPACK (Technology, Pedagogy, and Content Knowledge) model in teaching through ICT and how different attributes of teachers affect their level of TPACK knowledge. This study used a questionnaire, adapted from the TPACK model, which was administered to 88 faculty selected purposively from the University of the Gambia to collect data on their level of awareness of ICT-based teaching.

The rising global pollution of natural waters by dyes has brought to light the need for adaptable and efficient removal techniques. To create water-insoluble β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) polymers like CA/-CD, TA/-CD, and MA/-CD, several organic acids including citric acid (CA), tartaric acid (TA), and malic acid (MA) were cross-linked with β-cyclodextrin in this study. The obtained polymers were characterized by different advanced analytical techniques such as FTIR, SEM, and UV-vis spectrophotometry.

Context: In this study, we investigated the mechanical responses of molybdenum ditelluride (MoTe) using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. Our key focus was on the tensile behavior of MoTe with trigonal prismatic phase (2H-MoTe) which was investigated under uniaxial tensile stress for both armchair and zigzag directions. Crack formation and propagation were examined to understand the fracture behavior of such material for varying temperatures.

This study introduces a numerical model to assess the thermal and frictional properties of LBE crossflow over tube bundles on the shell side of a Helical-coiled Once-Through Steam Generator (H-OTSG) considering different arrangements, including inline, obliquely staggered, triangular, and rotated square configurations. The k-ω SST turbulence model combined with Kays turbulent Prandtl number model is utilized to develop the numerical model. The simulation results have been validated against experimental data and empirical correlations.

Incorporating appropriate pedagogical strategies has been instrumental in the development of a favorable learning environment for holistic learning, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. However, there is growing evidence of the need to advance the existing methods, through more robust and comprehensive fieldwork grounded in design study. It has been shown that the lack of guidance in lesson planning using variation theory is also thought to require particular attention, as the accuracy of the student learning relies significantly on the planning of the lesson.

BdSL47: A complete depth-based Bangla sign alphabet and digit dataset.

Data Brief

December 2023

Systems and Software Lab (SSL), Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Board Bazar, Gazipur 1704, Bangladesh.

Sign Language Recognition (SLR) is crucial for enabling communication between the deaf-mute and hearing communities. Nevertheless, the development of a comprehensive sign language dataset is a challenging task due to the complexity and variations in hand gestures. This challenge is particularly evident in the case of Bangla Sign Language (BdSL), where the limited availability of depth datasets impedes accurate recognition.
