Background: Determining the potential barriers responsible for delaying access to care, and elucidating pathways to early intervention should be a priority, especially in Arab countries where mental health resources are limited. To the best of our knowledge, no previous studies have examined the relationship between religiosity, stigma and help-seeking in an Arab Muslim cultural background. Hence, we propose in the present study to test the moderating role of stigma toward mental illness in the relationship between religiosity and help-seeking attitudes among Muslim community people living in different Arab countries.

Background: Burnout is a serious issue that affects physicians more than the general population; however, those with higher levels of grit and resilience have been shown to experience lower levels of burnout. The primary aim was to determine the prevalence of burnout among Jordanian orthopedic surgeons, explore its risk factors, and investigate the relationship between burnout and grit and resilience.

Methods: We conducted a questionnaire-based cross-sectional study targeting a total of 180 orthopedic surgeons attending the yearly Jordanian National Orthopedic Conference (JNOC).

Article Synopsis
  • - The article presents two innovative port-based printed MIMO antenna designs that boast features like low profile, simple structure, and excellent performance metrics, including low reflection coefficients and good gain.
  • - The performance of these antenna structures is optimized through various modifications in design, with impressive results such as a reflection coefficient of -39.44 dB and a total gain of 5.23 dB, along with a broad frequency response from 1 GHz to 14 GHz.
  • - The antennas are created using low-profile materials for easy mass production and are suitable for wireless applications across multiple frequency bands, particularly S/C/X/Ka bands, with a comparison of simulated versus fabricated structures to validate their effectiveness.

Despite the notable benefits of palliative care (PC) for patients with chronic diseases, its delivery to people with cardiac problems, particularly in the Middle East region (EMR), remains a critical issue. There is a scarcity of research assessing nursing staff's needs and knowledge in providing PC to cardiac patients in the EMR. This study aimed to assess the level of knowledge and needs of PC among nurses towards the provision of PC in intensive coronary care units (ICCUs) in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak is being investigated by severe respirational syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) as a global health issue. It is crucial to propose sensitive and rapid coronavirus detectors. Herein, we propose a biosensor based on surface plasmon resonance (SPRE) for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Organic compound-based sensors are used in a variety of significant fields, including medical research, azeotropic calibration, vegetable oil extraction, the shoe industry and geothermal power plants. Here, a high-performance, two-dimensional material-based organic compound sensor has been proposed using a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) nanostructure consisting of a BK7 glass prism, Ag, BaTiO, Ag, graphene and sensing layer. The reflectivity curves of the SPR device have been investigated when the sensing media are Pentane, n-Hexane, n-Heptane and n-Octane.

Introduction: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a natural evolutionary process in bacteria that is accelerated by selection pressure from the frequent and irrational use of antimicrobial drugs. This study aimed to determine the variations in AMR patterns of priority bacterial pathogens at a tertiary care hospital in the Gaza Strip during pre- and post-COVID-19 pandemic.

Methodology: This is a retrospective observational study to determine the AMR patterns of bacterial pathogens at a tertiary hospital in the Gaza Strip in the post-COVID-19 pandemic period compared to the pre-COVID-19 period.

Background: Waterpipe smoking is harmful and dangerous, and it is a growing threat to public health.

Objectives: This study was performed to evaluate the influence of waterpipe smoking on global DNA methylation, DNA fragmentation, and protamine deficiency in spermatozoa compared to cigarette heavy smokers and nonsmokers, and to determine whether the transcription levels of spermatozoa nuclear proteins genes ', , and ' in waterpipe smokers are different compared to cigarette heavy smokers and nonsmokers.

Methods: A total of 900 semen samples were collected from males with a mean age of 32.

In clinical testing of visual acuity, it is often assumed that performance reflects sensory abilities and observers do not exhibit strong biases for or against specific letters, but this assumption has not been extensively tested. We re-analyzed single-letter identification data as a function of letter size, spanning the resolution threshold, for 10 Sloan letters at central and paracentral visual field locations. Individual observers showed consistent letter biases across letter sizes.

Background: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are deemed as potential new therapeutic agents for infertility treatment and adipose tissue (AT) becomes a potential MSCs source. To direct MSCs through the differentiation process properly, an environment comparable to the in vivo niche might be indispensable.

Objective: This study aims to differentiate human AT-derived MScs (hAD-MScs) into male germ-like cells in vitro using a combination of rabbit Sertoli cells conditioned medium (SCCM), bone morphogenetic protein 4, and retinoic acid.
