Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) presents a significant challenge in neuro-oncology due to its aggressive behavior and self-renewal capacity. Circular RNAs (circRNAs), a subset of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) generated through mRNA back-splicing, are gaining attention as potential targets for GBM research. In our study, we sought to explore the functional role of circMMP9 (circular form of matrix metalloproteinase-9) as a promising therapeutic target for GBM through bioinformatic predictions and human data analysis.

Using Games to Promote English as a Foreign Language Learners' Willingness to Communicate: Potential Effects and Teachers' Attitude in Focus.

This study aims to find out the role of games in promoting students' willingness to communicate (WTC) and their teachers' attitude toward it. In order to collect the data, the researchers employed a 28-item questionnaire which was given to 60 English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners in an English institute. Then, the students were randomly divided into two groups of 30 learners functioning as control and experimental groups.

Incorporation of Low Molecular Weight Chitosan in a Low-Fat Beef Burger: Assessment of Technological Quality and Oxidative Stability.

Polysaccharides from pineapple core as a canning by-product: Extraction optimization, chemical structure, antioxidant and functional properties.

Ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) technique has been investigated to extract polysaccharides from pineapple core as a by-product using response surface methodology. A Box-Behnken design was employed to optimize the conditions for the maximum extraction yield of polysaccharides. The results demonstrated that the optimum extraction conditions were as follows: water/solid material ratio of 29.

Comparison of Azithromycin Removal from Water Using UV Radiation, Fe (VI) Oxidation Process and ZnO Nanoparticles.

Antibiotics are resistant to biodegradation, and their removal by biological processes is difficult. The purpose of this study was to investigate the removal of azithromycin from water using ultraviolet radiation (UV), Fe (VI) oxidation process and ZnO nanoparticles. The effect of different parameters such as pH, temperature, hydraulic retention time (HRT), the concentration of Fe (VI) and ZnO nanoparticles and UV intensity on the removal of azithromycin from water was investigated.

Incidental thymic cyst in middle mediastinum during emergency coronary artery bypass grafting: case report.

Congenital thymic cyst is a rare mass and usually located in the anterior mediastinum and neck. Congenital thymic cyst in the middle mediastinum are extremely rare, with only three previously reported case. We herein describe the fourth case of a thymic cyst in the middle mediastinum.

Detection and subtyping avian metapneumovirus from turkeys in Iran.

Avian metapneumovirus (aMPV) causes diseases like rhinotracheitis in turkeys, swollen head syndrome in chickens and avian rhinotracheitis in other birds. Causing respiratory problems, aMPV adversely affects production and inflicts immense economic losses and mortalities, especially in turkey flocks. In recent years, several serological and molecular studies have been conducted on this virus, especially in poultry in Asia and Iran.

Variation in Chemical Composition and Antibacterial Activity of the Essential Oil of Wild Populations of Phlomis olivieri.

Various species of the genus Phlomis have been reported to produce metabolites demonstrating significant pharmacological efficiency. In this study, the essential oils from twelve populations of Phlomis olivieri collected from natural habitats were investigated for their chemical components. In this study, the frequency of different types of mammary masses and their relationship with cytohistopathologic changes was investigated and data on history, macroscopic description, clinical examination and treatment were collected. To determine the prevalence and types of cytohistopathologic changes, mammary glands from 12 female cats were evaluated. The mean age of cats at the time of diagnosis was 11.

Improvement of Semen Quality in Holstein Bulls during Heat Stress by Dietary Supplementation of Omega-3 Fatty Acids.

Background: Long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) of the omega-3 family are important for sperm membrane integrity, sperm motility and viability. There are evidences to suggest that dietary supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids affects reproduction in men and males of different animal species. Therefore, the aim of current study was to investigate changes in the quality parameters of Holstein bull semen during heat stress and the effect of feeding a source of omega-3 fatty acids during this period.
