Background: Patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) benefit from using synbiotics. However, findings from existing trials remain contentious. Therefore, this meta-analysis evaluated the effects of synbiotics on liver enzymes, blood pressure, inflammation, and lipid profiles in patients with NAFLD.

A mathematical model that describes the dynamics of bacterium vibrio cholera within a fixed population considering intrinsic bacteria growth, therapeutic treatment, sanitation and vaccination rates is developed. The developed mathematical model is validated against real cholera data. A sensitivity analysis of some of the model parameters is also conducted.

Objective: Sperm freezing is considered as an effective way in assisted reproductive technology (ART) programs, it has detrimental effects on sperm function, due to the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). This study aimed to investigate the potential of Mitoquinone (MitoQ) in inhibiting the production of mitochondrial ROS during sperm freezing.

Methods: A total of 20 human normozoosperm samples were collected for this study.

Objective: Given the destructive effects of oxidative stress on sperm structure, this study was conducted to investigate the antioxidant effects of different concentrations of Ceratonia siliqua plant extract on human sperm parameters after the freezing-thawing process.

Methods: A total of 20 normozoospermic samples were frozen. Each sample was divided into two control groups (fresh and cryopreservation) and three cryopreservation experimental groups (containing C.

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the effects of melatonin and selenium in freezing extenders on frozen-thawed rat sperm.

Methods: Semen samples were collected from 20 adult male Wistar albino rats. Following dilution, the samples were divided into six groups: four cryopreserved groups with 1 mM and 0.

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a chronic inflammatory disease, which is still regarded as a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Several studies have suggested that polymorphisms in cytokine genes are associated with the pathogenesis of CHD. The genotype distribution of Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interferon gamma (IFN-γ) genes polymorphisms have been shown to be different in various ethnic populations.

Packet classification is a computationally intensive, highly parallelizable task in many advanced network systems like high-speed routers and firewalls that enable different functionalities through discriminating incoming traffic. Recently, graphics processing units (GPUs) have been exploited as efficient accelerators for parallel implementation of software classifiers. The aggregated bit vector is a highly parallelizable packet classification algorithm.

Matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP2) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9) have an important role in the reproductive system and in the fertilisation process. The aim of this study was to investigate the MMP2 and MMP9 activity in semen and their association with the pregnancy rate, semen parameters and seminal plasma oxidative stress parameters in couples who were treated with intrauterine insemination (IUI). The semen specimens were obtained from 60 men who attended with their spouse for the IUI in the infertility unit.

This paper presents a novel control strategy to improve the damping capability of sub-synchronous oscillations by tuning of Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) optimally in order to reduce the fluctuations in the power system. The proposed model includes the coordination of Power System Stabilizer (PSS) and Thyristor-Controlled Series Capacitors (TCSC) in combination with LQR controllers which is formulated as an optimal control problem. The problem is formulated as a linear regulator problem and then the Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm is utilized to optimize the proposed controlling parameters.

Aviecennia marina (Avicenniaceae) is an endemic plant that widely distributed in the Southern parts of Iran. This plant has been used as treatment of rheumatism arthritis among the inhabitants of Southern parts of Iran. The Avicennia marina hydroalcoholic extract was prepared and its protective efficacy was investigated using measurement of ankle diameter, total WBC and RBC count, ESR, and Pro-inflammatory cytokines levels in the complete Freund᾽s adjuvant (CFA)-induced arthritic rat.

Nowadays, application of natural wastewater treatment systems such as wetland not only reduces economic costs and energy consumption, but also decreases environmental pollution. This study aimed to compare efficiency of Cyperus alternifolius and Phragmites australis in Municipal wastewater treatment by Subsurface Constructed Wetland Method. This is an applied-interventionnal study in which three reactors (control pilot, Cyperus alternifolius (umbrella palm) plant pilot and Phragmites australis (reed) plant pilot were designed by subsurface constructed wetland method.
