Background: Xenografts of various human cancers in nude mice provide a helpful model in cancer research. This study aimed to develop a xenograft mouse model of MCF-7 breast cancer using injectable estradiol valerate.

Methods: Thirty healthy female C57 nu/nu mice were engrafted with three protocols to establish an MCF-7 tumor.

In this study, some phenolic compounds including 4-Hexylresorcinol, 5-Pentadecylresorcinol, 5-Tricosylresorcinol, Bilobol, and Urushiol were tested against α-glycosidase enzyme from Saccharomyces cerevisiae and sorbitol dehydrogenase enzymes from sheep liver. These compounds determined good inhibition properties against α-glycosidase and sorbitol dehydrogenase (SDH) enzymes. IC values were record in the range of 1.

The gray mullet, Mugil cephalus is an inshore and bottom-feeding fish species of Oman sea. Therefore, the gray mullet may be more exposed to heavy metal contamination, as the toxic impacts of heavy metals mullet has been reported in various studies. This study was conducted to evaluate the toxic effects of the heavy metal, nickel (as NiCl) on osmoregulation of the gray mullet by measuring blood biochemicals, hormones, minerals and gill histology.

A case of monocephalus, tetrabrachious and tetrapod in female newborn goat.

All conjoined twins are originally born as a result of fertilizing one zygote (egg) and also called monozygotic twins experiencing an incomplete division of an embryo into two portions of the embryo usually causing the formation of the primary streak stage. The main reason for the creation of this defect is not obvious. Dead twin goat with one head, one trunk, four anterior limbs, and four posterior organs was referred to the Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Islamic Azad University, Shoushtar Branch, Shoushtar, Iran.

Background: Crop wild relatives (CWRs) are commonly used as a suitable genetic reservoir for plant breeding. Effect of a dietary supplement composed of hydrolyzed milk proteins and vanillin on the reduction of infection and oxidative stress induced by chemotherapy.

This study evaluates the antioxidant and antibacterial activity of a mixture of lactoferrin hydrolysate (LfH), whey protein hydrolysate (WPH) and vanillin in vitro and in vivo to design a chemoprotective supplement for reducing the infection and oxidative stress induced by chemotherapy. The designed supplement showed significant antibacterial activity against E. coli.

Cloning and expression of OdTx12, a β excitatory toxin from Odontobuthus doriae, in Escherichia coli and evaluation of its bioactivity in Locusta migratoria.

The venom of Odontobuthus doriae contains several peptide toxins that interfere with the sodium channel function of cell membranes, some of which specifically act on the insect's sodium channel without affecting mammalian cells. In this study sodium channel toxins of Odontobuthus doriae were aligned to other closely related toxins by BLAST and ClustalW servers. Among these toxins, NaTx12 (OdTx12) showed more than 90% similarity to the most known beta excitatory toxin, AaHIT1; furthermore, our modeling studies confirmed high tertiary structure similarity of these proteins.

Investigation Trp64Arg polymorphism of the beta 3-adrenergic receptor gene in nonobese women with polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a multifactorial and heterogeneous disease that has a potent inheritable component based on familial clustering. Despite many studies in the genetic field of PCOS, the genes that are involved in the causes of this syndrome have not been thoroughly investigated.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to establish the occurrence of the Trp64Arg polymorphism of beta3 adrenergic receptor in non-obese women with PCOS.

Investigating the efficacy of UVSE protein at repairing CPD and 6-4 pp DNA damages in human cells.

UV exposure could induce carcinogenic mutation in human cells, including CPD (Cyclobutane pyrimidine dimer), and 6-4 pp (6-4 photoproduct) DNA damages. Spiting the active BER (Base Excision Repair) system of human cells, it lacks initiator glycosylase, rendering these damages to be only repaired through NER (Nucleotide Excision Repair) system. Some microorganisms such as Deinococcus radiodurans bacteria have a BER system for repairing these damages with an enzyme coded by the uvsE gene.

Combination of low intensity electromagnetic field with chondrogenic agent induces chondrogenesis in mesenchymal stem cells with minimal hypertrophic side effects.

: There are different methods to develop neo-chondral tissues from adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs). Application of electromagnetic field (EMF) on ADSCs is one of popular approaches, which results in chondrogenesis. If chondrogenic impact of EMF on ADSCs is supposed to be generalized as a protocol in translational medicine field, possible emergence of early or late hypertrophic maturation, mineralization and inflammatory side effects in chondrogenically differentiating ADSCs should be considered.

Infantile hypopigmented pityriasis versicolor: two uncommon cases.

Pityriasis versicolor is a common infection of the epidermis in adults, but only a few cases of this infection (especially the hypopigmented type) have been reported in infants aged under one year. Herein, we document a report of these cases and a review of the literature. Two patients with infantile pityriasis versicolor, who presented with hypopigmented macules on the neck, upper back, and chest are reported.

Potential of novel electrospun core-shell structured polyurethane/starch (hyaluronic acid) nanofibers for skin tissue engineering: In vitro and in vivo evaluation.

The biomaterials with excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability ¬can lead to satisfactory wound healing. In this study, core-shell structured PU (polyurethane)/St (Starch) and PU/St (Hyaluronic Acid (HA)) nanofibers were fabricated with coaxial electrospinning technique. The morphology characterization of the core-shell structure of nanofibers was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images.

Background: The optimal vitamin D intake for nursing mothers with overweight or obesity has not been defined. Vitamin D concentrations are associated with body composition indices, particularly body fat mass. Few studies have investigated the relationship between hypovitaminosis D, obesity, anthropometric status, and body composition in nursing women.

Impact of obesity on central processing time rather than overall reaction time in young adult men.

Background And Purpose: The association between weight status with simple cognitive tasks such as reaction time (RT) may not be observed in young people as cognitive functioning development has reached its peak. In the present study, we aimed to examine the association between overall and central adiposity with overall and central processing of RT in a sample of young adult men with different weight status from Ardabil, Iran.

Methods: Eighty-six young males between June-July 2018 completed RT tests as well as premotor time (PMT) using surface electromyography changes in isometric contraction response to an audio stimulus.

Studies suggest that autism prevalence rates are increasing, and research shows that parents of children with ASD frequently experience high levels of parenting stress.

Assessment of bioaerosol particle characteristics at different hospital wards and operating theaters: A case study in Tehran.

This study was aimed to investigate the types and number of bacterial and fungal bioaerosols in indoor air of hospitals according to the type of wards and operating theaters. Bacterial and fungal samples were collected using the passive sampling method of 1/1/1 scheme during a six months' period in the Khatam-Al-Anbia hospital, Tehran, Iran. A simple linear regression was used to determine the relationship between bioaerosol concentrations and the number of active beds.

Association between Physical and Motor Fitness with Cognition in Children.

Sublethal Effects of Some Insecticides on Functional Response of Habrobracon hebetor (Hymneoptera: Braconidae) When Reared on Two Lepidopteran Hosts.

The effects of four commonly used pesticides, diazinon (EC 60%), phosalone (EC 35%), fipronil (Granular formulation 0.2%), and pyriproxifen (EC 10%), on functional response of Habrobracon hebetor (Say) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) were investigated using two lepidopteran hosts, Ephestia kuehniella Zeller (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) and Heliothis viriplaca (Hufnagel) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). Laboratory bioassays determined diazinon and fipronil as highly toxic insecticides for all developmental stages of the parasitoid, while the acute toxicity of phosalone and pyriproxyfen was moderate to very low depending on the life-stage studied.
