Non-ampullary duodenal tumors are relatively rare; however, in recent years, they have been encountered more frequently. We analyzed the surgical outcomes and clinicopathological findings in 20 patients who underwent surgery based on preoperative diagnoses of non-ampullary duodenal tumors at our hospital between January 2011 and April 2021. We performed surgery for 3 cases of GIST, 4 cases of adenoma, and 13 cases of adenocarcinoma.

Objectives: Although reoperation has been increasingly performed in cardiovascular surgery in recent years, preventing surgical adhesions remains an unsolved complication. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate whether gelatine sealing sheets are more effective than fibrin sealing sheets in preventing surgical adhesions.
Methods: Bilateral femoral arteries of 20 beagle dogs under general anaesthesia were pricked with syringe needles, and gelatine and fibrin sealing sheets were applied on the bleeding points to make canine adhesion models.

Background And Purpose: Environmental factors are important with respect to the rupture of cerebral aneurysms. However, the relationship between the gut microbiome, an environmental factor, and aneurysm rupture is unclear. Therefore, we compared the gut microbiome in patients with unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIAs) and ruptured aneurysms (RAs) to identify the specific bacteria causing the rupture of cerebral aneurysms.

Summary Of Background Data: Although decompression for LSS is generally thought to yield worse results for LBP than for leg pain, some studies have reported similar improvements in pain scores between LBP and leg pain.
The 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care recommend that comatose patients with return of spontaneous circulation after cardiac arrest have targeted temperature management (TTM). Objective: This retrospective study aimed to compare vertebral endplate cyst formation (VECF), an early predictor for pseudoarthrosis, in different types of interbody cages.
Methods: We reviewed 84 cases treated with single-level posterior/transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion. We utilized a polyetheretherketone cage in 20 cases (group P), a titanium cage in 16 cases (group Ti), a titanium-coating polyetheretherketone cage in 13 cases (group TiP) and a porous tantalum cage in 35 cases (group Tn).

Purpose: The aims of this study were to clarify the effects of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on the early development of endometriosis and on the production of cytokines and chemokines in the murine peritoneal cavity.
Methods: Endometriotic lesions were induced in C57BL/6J adult female mice by intraperitoneal injection of endometrial fragments plus blood or endometrial fragments plus blood with LPS. On day 7, endometriotic lesions were assessed by gross and microscopic evaluations.
