Background: A low risk of cardiovascular and metabolic outcomes was found in the randomized clinical trials of dupilumab in atopic dermatitis (AD). Dupilumab-associated real-life long-term cardiometabolic risk relative to other systemic agents is yet to be precisely investigated.

Objective: To assess the risk of cardiometabolic outcomes in patients with AD treated with dupilumab relative to those treated with methotrexate and cyclosporine.

Science is crucial for evidence-based decision-making. Public trust in scientists can help decision makers act on the basis of the best available evidence, especially during crises. However, in recent years the epistemic authority of science has been challenged, causing concerns about low public trust in scientists.

Perceptions of science, science communication, and climate change attitudes in 68 countries - the TISP dataset.

Science is integral to society because it can inform individual, government, corporate, and civil society decision-making on issues such as public health, new technologies or climate change. Yet, public distrust and populist sentiment challenge the relationship between science and society. To help researchers analyse the science-society nexus across different geographical and cultural contexts, we undertook a cross-sectional population survey resulting in a dataset of 71,922 participants in 68 countries.

A qualitative interview study of care home managers' experiences of medicines optimisation for residents with dementia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objectives: To explore care home managers' views and experiences of optimising medicines use for residents with dementia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Design, Setting And Participants: A descriptive exploratory qualitative study using semistructured interviews (conducted via telephone or online videoconferencing platform), with care home managers across Northern Ireland, purposively sampled from care homes that provided care for residents with dementia. Care home managers were asked to describe their experiences of accessing primary healthcare services (such as those provided by general practitioners and community pharmacists), how medicines use by residents with dementia was affected by the pandemic, and what they had learnt from their experiences.

Video analysis of neonatal intubations using video laryngoscopy: a prospective comparison of clinical practice with resuscitation guidelines.

Background: The Neonatal Resuscitation Program recommends direct laryngoscopy (DL) as the primary method for neonatal intubation. Video laryngoscopy (VL) is suggested as an option, particularly for training novice operators or for intubating infants with difficult airways. The programme outlines specific steps for intubation, including managing the external environment and techniques for visualising key anatomical landmarks.

Plasma transfusions in neonatal intensive care units: a prospective observational study.

Objective: Despite lack of evidence supporting efficacy, prophylactic fresh frozen plasma and Octaplas transfusions may be administered to very preterm infants to reduce bleeding risk. International variation in plasma transfusion practices in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) is poorly understood, therefore, we aimed to describe neonatal plasma transfusion practice in Europe.

The increasing prevalence of obesity, complex nature of this chronic disease, and risks of developing obesity-related comorbidities outline the need for sustainable and effective management for people living with obesity. In addition to behavioral interventions, obesity medications (OMs) are increasingly considered an integral part of management of people living with obesity. OM adherence is essential to achieve the health benefits of these medications.

Feasibility and Challenges of Pyeloureteral Magnetic Anastomosis Device in Domestic Pigs: A Stepwise Approach with Extended Observation.

Objective:  The pyeloureteral anastomosis remains the most challenging part of pyeloplasty. A purpose-built anastomotic device could simplify this step and potentially improve outcomes. The concept of a pyeloureteral magnetic anastomosis device (PUMA) was proven in minipigs, but only in short term.

Clock system disruption in male Fischer 344 rats fed cafeteria diet and administered sweet treats at different times: The zeitgeber role of grape seed flavanols.

Current lifestyles include calorie-dense diets and late-night food intake, which can lead to circadian misalignment. Our group recently demonstrated that sweet treats before bedtime alter the clock system in healthy rats, increasing metabolic risk factors. Therefore, we aimed to assess the impact of the sweet treat consumption time on the clock system in rats fed a cafeteria diet (CAF).

Foundational guidelines for enhancing neurotechnology research and development through end-user involvement.

Neurotechnologies are increasingly becoming integrated with our everyday lives, our bodies and our mental states. As the popularity and impact of neurotechnology grows, so does our responsibility to ensure we understand its particular implications on its end users, as well as broader ethical and societal implications. Enabling end-users and other stakeholders to participate in the development of neurotechnology, even at its earliest stages of conception, will help us better navigate our design around these serious considerations, and deliver more impactful technologies.

Search filters for systematic reviews and meta-analyses in sleep medicine.

Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are increasingly common in sleep research, although the methodological quality level has been a matter of concern. Efforts towards methodological standardization are needed to ensure the reliability of sleep-related systematic reviews. The development of search strategies is a critical step in a systematic review, which often lead to methodological biases.

Crossing the streams: Improving data quality and integration across the One Health genomics continuum with data standards and implementation strategies.

The Canadian Genomics Research and Development Initiative for Antimicrobial Resistance (GRDI-AMR) uses a genomics-based approach to understand how health care, food production and the environment contribute to the development of antimicrobial resistance. Integrating genomics contextual data streams across the One Health continuum is challenging because of the diversity in data scope, content and structure. To better enable data harmonization for analyses, a contextual data standard was developed.

Dissociation of hydrogen and formation of water at the (010) and (111) surfaces of orthorhombic FeNbO4.

The orthorhombic structure of FeNbO4, where the Fe and Nb cations are distributed randomly over the octahedral 4c sites, has shown excellent promise as an anode material in solid oxide fuel cells. We have used DFT+U-D2 calculations to explore the adsorption and dissociation of H2 molecules and the formation reaction of water at the (010) and (111) surfaces. Simulations of the surface properties confirmed that the bandgaps are significantly reduced compared to the bulk material.

Olanzapine/Samidorphan Effects on Weight Gain: An Individual Patient Data Meta-Analysis of Phase 2 and 3 Randomized Double-Blind Studies.

To evaluate weight change with a combination of olanzapine and samidorphan (OLZ/SAM) versus olanzapine by pooling data across clinical studies. This study was an individual patient data (IPD) meta-analysis of clinical trial data. EMBASE, MEDLINE, and PsycInfo were searched for randomized clinical trials (≥12 weeks) in adults with schizophrenia or bipolar I disorder in which weight change from baseline was the primary or secondary end point.

Utility of systemic staging in breast cancer patients with a positive sentinel lymph node biopsy.

Background: CT thorax, abdomen and pelvis (CT-TAP) remains the standard in the identification of metastatic disease in patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer. In patients with proven micro and macro axillary nodal metastasis, the optimal radiological technique remains controversial. A consensus on which patients with axillary nodal disease should receive radiological staging for distant disease and how this should be performed is not currently available.

"I felt like I was missing 'me'": Long-term experiences of intrapersonal loss, grief, and change in adults with an acquired brain injury.

Experiences of loss and change following acquired brain injury (ABI) are frequent and multi-contextual, yet the long-term experiences of people with ABI are not well understood. This study explored the experiences of intrapersonal loss, grief and change in people with ABI, a decade after their injury. Twelve adults with ABI were interviewed 10-13 years post-injury.

"Δ" Delta neobladder: a novel stentless simplified totally intracorporeal robotic technique.

Background: To report the first case series of RARC using a simplified technique for intracorporeal stentless neobladder formation.

Methods: From October 2022 to February 2023, 10 patients with high-risk bladder cancer underwent RARC at our Institution. RARC with extended pelvic lymph node dissection and totally intracorporeal neobladder using Hugo RAS system.

Optimization of Polymers for Organic Solar Cells: Effects of Alkyl, Fluorinated and Thiophenated Chains.

This paper explores optimization strategies for polymeric materials in organic solar cells (OSCs) with the focus on varying alkyl side chain, addition of fluorine atom, and thiophenated derivatives onto polymer. As such, it outlines the significance of renewable energy sources and the potential of photovoltaic technologies, particularly organic photovoltaics (OPVs). Objectives include factors affecting power conversion efficiency (PCE), open-circuit voltage (Voc), aggregation tendencies, and optoelectronic properties in OPVs.

Perturbing Pentalene: Aromaticity and Antiaromaticity in a Non-alternant Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon and BN-heteroanalogues.

Pentalene (C8H6) and NN- and BB-bridged heterocyclic analogues (BN)4H6, derived by replacement of CC pairs with BN, are taken as  paradigms for tuning of ring-current (anti)aromaticity by variation of π charge, electronegativity and substitution pattern.  Ab initio calculation of maps for the π current density induced in these model systems by a perpendicular external magnetic field exhibits the full range of tropicity, from diatropic aromatic to nonaromatic to paratropic antiaromatic, with a ready rationalisation in terms of an orbital model.  Further calculations on systems of varying charge in which these motifs are embedded in extended PAH systems with naphthalene and phenanthrene 'clamps' show promise for switching between current patterns and related  opto-electronic properties.

Purpose: Multiple Sclerosis is an inflammatory neurodegenerative disease characterised by blood-brain barrier dysfunction and leukocyte infiltration into the CNS. Platelets are best known for their contributions to haemostasis, however, upon activation, platelets release an abundance of soluble and vesicular-associated proteins, termed the platelet releasate (PR). This milieu contains numerous inflammatory and vasoactive proteins, that can attract leukocytes and alter endothelial permeability.

Exposure to infected animals and their contaminated environments may be the primary cause of human infection with the H7N9 avian influenza virus. However, the transmission characteristics and specific role of various influencing factors in the spread of the epidemic are not clearly understood. Therefore, it is of great significance for scientific research and practical application to explore the influencing factors related to the epidemic.
