During cryopreservation, spermatozoa are exposed to chemical or physical stress that has adverse effects on the quality of mammalian spermatozoa. Recently, much attention has been paid to environmental contaminants (ECs) in livestock, because of their detrimental effects on livestock productivity and fertility. ECs like diazinon (DZN) and lead acetate (LA) are considered ubiquitous and induced oxidative stress, which decreases spermatozoa quality.

Semen cryopreservation is affected by individual differences and use of cloned animal from the same source is the main tool to eliminate genetic variation. Pomegranate seed (PS) contains fatty acids and phenolic compounds which have antioxidant properties. Essential fatty acids and antioxidants are vital for production of healthy sperm by improving sperm membrane integrity and protecting sperm from oxidative stress.

Objective: To compare the expression levels of ZMYND15 and its target haploid genes (TNP1, PRM1, and SPEM1) in testicular samples of non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) vs obstructive azoospermia (OA). The levels of these transcripts were also compared in azoospermic samples with positive and negative sperm retrieval (SR).
Method: This study included 63 testis biopsy samples from 16 OA and 47 NOA individuals.

Semen cryopreservation is affected by individual differences and use of clones animal from the same source is the main tool to eliminate genetic variation. Among many nutrients that are necessary for fertility, essential fatty acids and antioxidants are vital for production of healthy sperm by improving sperm membrane integrity and protecting sperm from oxidative stress. The goal of the current study was to investigate whether a flax seed oil or/and Vitamin E dietary supplementation could improve semen quality of cloned bucks following semen cryopreservation.

Manganese(III) meso-tetrakis(N-ethylpyridinium-2-yl)porphyrin chloride (MnTE) is a cell-permeable superoxide dismutase mimetic agent which can convert superoxide to hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Supplementation of MnTE to a commercial semen extender can protect sperm from superoxide but not H2O2. Therefore, we proposed that addition of catalase (0.
